Just purchased newspaper theme, installed Global Medicine demo on my dev site to play around with.
One thing I was trying to tweak: the post titles showing inside the “Big Grid 7” elements aren’t very clear overlaid on my light colored thumbnails. I wanted to add a shadow to the font to make it more legible, using the following CSS, but it would not work.

After theme update I have no new Elements in the Visual Composer, such like weather widget and new big grids. I have updated all plugins that I have downloaded with Newspaper 7, but new Elements didn’t appear.
But on local server everything works perfectly when I install demos with content.
P.S. I have last version of WordPress and Newspaper.
I tested my page and identified the below message

Since installing the theme in 2014, I’ve been using the boxed layout. I’m currently redesigning my website and want to change to a full width layout but can’t find a way to change it. (I’ve been looking this whole afternoon through the forums, documentation and theme panel, it’s probably something really easy that I completely missed)

I would like to have the top menu, footer and feature image on each post full width.

Hi,
I can’t seem to figure out how to implement the Big grids found in the Newspaper template.
I want to use them on the front page of my website.
When I go to my wp-admin – and click on visual composer -> grid builder -> I have no templates.
If I click add new, it take me to a blank page to add templates.
I was under the impression there were supposed to be big grid templates included with the Newspaper theme, as illustrated here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
Am I missing something? Is something missing from my installation?

Hello – I just noticed that when sharing a LIST on Facebook, the Facebook excerpt looks odd because it includes all the text at the top of the page like Category / Author / Share button text etc.
Is there a way to have Facebook pull the excerpt or even the first lines of text from the article?

Images in my site are low quality , I don’t want to show on header menu ( sub-menu or mega menu ) ! just like as normal sub-menus ! If you not catch up my point here

The submenu links up to “Video” are shown as mega menu , but after that in “features and Home pages” it just show the simple sub-menus ! I want to appear my sub-menu links as ( features,homepage) not with thumbnail !

Plugin conflicts are the number 1 reason people have issues with premium themes. That is the first thing to check whenever something is ‘different’ on your site than the live demo: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/

1) You can do this for blocks on pages but not on category grids unfortunately. The theme has no filters for category elements.
2) On the homepage you can include every element in the way you want it, not only a top post grid but a grid in any place that you want on that page. You can create a page in visual composer adding elements from here: http://screencast.com/t/BZ6aLcTelSG8 – http://screencast.com/t/agPedJs54CD

I have checked our black version demo view theme and I did not saw any issues through it. What do you mean exactly? The main menu is the same in the normal and mobile theme…where is the problem?

It depends on how you added content to your site. If you used the demo content and edited that, then it will be lost. If you created new posts and pages, they will not be lost when switching to a new demo. The demo content will be removed when switching demos.
If you edited the demos, you will have to create a back-up of your content before changing the demo.

Unfortunately there is not an easy way to change all colors of the site. Our demo use a custom css code for that layout. You can try to change background color and grids colors to black from theme panel. For content part use this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/WUsKlw5jH

Can sameone help me with this – I’d like to make whole website black, just like this example: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_black/ . If I change only background color to black, it doesn’t work in general, I’d like to have it in black whole, including body and pages sections. Is there some simple solution?

It’s the same problem as above, Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Thenn check your homepage again without the plugins.

There is no other way to install a demo besides the theme panel. Please try to install a different demo and then install the classic blog. If this fails, maybe the customization you made broke some parts of the theme so please also do a clean install via ftp and start fresh. Your content will not be lost as it is kept in the database.

I’ve tried to reinstall the Classic Blog demo but probably I didn’t do it correctly.
I did uninstall it first, then install it. Everything was don from within WordPress, Newspaper – Install demos.
After reinstall was showing me the default view of Newspaper without a theme.
I had to revert my site to a previously database and files.
What I did wrong? How should I do it?
Is there other way to fix this without reinstalling the Classic Blog demo?

When you install a demo you will only lose the demo content you had installed previously and the style of your current demo. The best thing to do is to create your own content and not edit the demo content that is added by a demo install as when you uninstall a demo, this content will be removed.

unfortunately there is no way to do this as the demo content will be uninstalled if you use it and switch the demo or uninstall it. The best way to go about this is to remove the demo content and create your own just keeping the demo style (click this button to chose to install only the demo style and not the content: http://screencast.com/t/YRWTHzp5h2j)
