Hello mc_kot,
3,4)I have checked your screenshots and these steps are corrected but please notice that I am not aware of what type of code you have added in your child theme, sorry! Please notice that the child theme addresses only for ADVANCED USERS which have solid knowledge in hard coding and also, please notice that our support is not covered by these additional customizations which you have entered into your code. Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of child theme which comes bundled with the latest version of Newspaper. Please notice that very important is what you have added in your child theme because the code could be wrong and the child theme will not work. If you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
5)If you want to always enable speed booster, delete this code from speed booster file: http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh and then, your speed booster will be active for all type of untested plugins. Please notice that the speed booster is not tested with this type of plugin might appear a lot of unknown issues generated by this plugin and we cannot provide support for these. Also, for more information about our speed booster plugin, please check our tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
6)As I said you above, the general cropping system for the entire theme is ‘center to top’. Images used in thumbs are cropped to fit the thumb size and depending on image aspect ratio the result can be different. The theme uses center-top cropping system but if you want you can modify it to center-center (for example) if you consider that will work better. The file that needed to be edited it’s td_config.php and you can choose the thumbs which you want to edit: http://screencast.com/t/rQCzeuHV You can find more details here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/image-size/ and more details about cropping here: http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
11)Please notice that we cannot provide additional customizations for speed booster plugin, sorry! All information about this type of plugin is found in this documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
14)Please notice that this type of code involves custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry! If you want to make another custom taxonomy for our theme, you will have to implement yourself. Please notice that the code is very complex and the implementation method could be different from one theme to another. Also, you can guide by our custom post type & taxonomy makes your custom taxonomy, according to this documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-post-type-support/ Also, these services are custom and are not covered by our support!
17)In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello yachtsailingcharter,

Hello tagdiv.
Good to hear that, Newspaper is the best selling theme on themeforest. It is quiet natural for an awesome theme to get that.
Here is my question. How to render the Adsense ads quickly. Im not using the inbuilt ad system. Instead I use the AdInserter plugin to insert the ads inside the post content and after the post content. The ads are not automatically rendered. Like lazy load for images the ads are rendered only when I place where the ad codes are placed. Even if I keep the page for 10 minutes also the ads are not loading till i scroll there. Any possible solution for this?
Check this page – http://www.getcooltricks.com/wordpress/google-cse-integration-to-newspaper-wordpress-theme/
Thanks.
Hello mc_kot,

Hello colgate,
First of all, thank you for your kinds words and thank you for your appreciations.
For your first question, please notice that this is the normal/default behaviour for our new mobile theme. If you want to change the filter for Big Grid feature, you have to alter the code from the front-page.php core file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/XvSBymcfGof Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you want to set the filter only from particular category you will have to add other conditions in order to achieve as you wish. Please notice that if you want to change the filter of the Big Grid (for example to be for latest), on your front page you will get the twice posts because the latest articles module will display you the latest posts. So, if you want to display more levels in our theme and your are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
For your second request, please notice that the WP Fastest Cache plugin is not tested with our theme and we have no idea about the theme behaviour with this type of plugin and also we cannot say for sure if it will work 100% with our theme. Also, please notice that we recommend using the WP Super Cache because this plugin is tested with our theme and works as properly.
For your third request, please notice that the speed booster is an optional plugin and it is tested only with these plugins – http://screencast.com/t/hcjLnOqh4i2 and if you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the them are not written fine so the developer took this decision. Finally, if you want to edit de mobile template for new mobile theme, please notice that you will have to edit the mobile folder from your theme which contains all the necessary files for this mobile theme, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/1SW50X4Dvto
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
This issue is related to your page loading speed and/or the speedbooster plugin. If you use speedbooster or another tool to move render blocking to footer as google page speed suggests, it will also move style.css to footer and this is the effect of that. The style will apply after all elements are loaded. If you know your way around coding, you can remove style.css from the speed-booster files to prevent this happening.
If you do not use speedbooster, please increase your site-s loading times by following this guide:https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ and also make sure you have all system status parameters set properly so you do not run out of memory: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hi,
Our theme is a bit “heavier” as there are lots of options available and the site needs to be optimized.
Please follow this topic to improve general page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
And a note on the speedbooster plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello all,
First of all, please check your system status and please make sure if your parameters are increased to the higher values, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ So, please ensure that you have the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.0.1) and also, your plugins are updated to the latest version of them. Also, please try to use only the plugin that comes bundled with our theme to rule out the conflicting plugins which could appear in this process.
So, if you want to make your website to be so faster, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Please notice that these customizations addresses only for advanced users and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you in this regard (to make your website faster).
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
I’m not sure exactly why the speed is so slow on your site, as our live demo gets a 73 score: http://screencast.com/t/6hly7k8hmA
Please try to deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Thre is something altering the results.
Please follow this topic to improve general page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
A note on the speedbooster plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
Hope this helps.
Thank you!

Thank you.
Is it possible to receive some help, please?
Thank you
Hi tagdiv,

Hi,
It takes me a long time to edit a post or a page, how can I make it faster?
Thank you
Thank you, no problem at all. I just wanted to clarify how the mobile theme worked, and that it was a very different experience for end users than the standard theme. I have tested it and it is quite a bit faster, so there is still the possibility of using it without the navigation and categories that I use now, and with a different navigation menu, but there’s always the possibility that a user will get sent to one of the pages that exist and see a blank screen.
Hello,
You will need to optimize your install a bit. First by following these guides:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
And for the page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
A note on the speedbooster plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello volleyumbria,
Some WordPress plugins also add cache functionality to your website. This helps your blog/site load faster because WordPress can retrieve the pages of your blog/site from the cache instead of generating them all over again.
All good cache plugins will clear the cache when a post, page, or comment is published. However, if you make other changes (e.g. to your theme), the cache may not be cleared and the old version may still appear. In this case, check the plugin’s instructions to find out how to clear its cache.
Note that WordPress does not come with a cache by default, so the above would only apply if you installed a cache plugin yourself.
Thank you for your understanding!
Using PHP 7.0.6 + Apache 2.4 + MariaDB 10.1.14. No problems. Don’t use WP Super Cache. WP Rocket (premium) is faster anyway.

Hi,
according to documentation step 2 I need to add the code in the .htacess file. I have 2 files. One in the main directory and one in the installation folder. My question is in which file I need to add it?
Thanks!
Hi,
Our theme does provide an alternative as you can see in this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also a few notes on speedbooster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/incompatible-plugin-detected/
Thanks.
Hello Kimyj,
Unfortunately, I am not aware of your additional customizations through the code and we cannot provide support for custom implementation, sorry! Please try to revert the theme to the default state and try to set the Speed Booster according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Please notice that this plugin is fully tested with our theme and works as expected.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Before changing the hosting plan, you could try to speed up your site: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moviemag.lk%2F&tab=desktop
Please follow this guide:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also please check the requirements for newspaper: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
512 ram is too low.
Thank you!
Hello TagDiv,
First of all I would like to convey my thanks for providing the Mobile Theme. It’s really very much helpful for everyone who loves to load faster the contents and all.
I would like to request some suggestion’s based upon my testing:
1) I think the related articles on the mobile theme for each post/article is not working properly. As of now I’m interested to list ‘Related Articles’ based upon the ‘tags’ which i used within the article/post.
2) On Mozilla browser (Smart Phone) their is some delay in loading the menu background. Hope you’ll check it.
Desktop error:
1) As on: Theme Panel > Footer > Sub Footer settings > Footer Copyright text
When we add 2016 Website Name within the provided box and after some days the is removing automatically and 2016 Website Name will only be presented within their.
Hope you’ll go through my findings.
Thanks!
My website http://www.observerxtra.com on mobile version displays a white screen with the text:
“The mobile theme path couldn’t be set. Please check if you already have another mobile theme plugin active and disable it (ex. Jetpack Mobile Theme or similar) If you use a cache plugin clear it before checking the results.”
When I updated the site last night, the mobile was working. I even changed the colour and it was working great. By the morning, without touching the site again the error message is displayed. Have to say when it was working I really liked it. Much faster which is super important for mobile — thank you for creating this add on. When I can get it working on our site it will be a great asset.
I don’t have another mobile theme plugin installed or Jetpack. I am hosted on WPengine and they look after cache and don’t allow cache plugins. I cleared the cache for page and object but nothing has changed. I updated all of my plugins.
After the upgrade to v7 my pages have gone wonky in the background – especially my homepage which I can’t get into anymore to edit. I read that Visual Composer was breaking these pages and not the theme, however, I have the latest visual composer and something is wonky with my current pages. If I start a fresh new page everything looks fine.
I would super appreciate if someone can take a look.
Hello,
The mobile theme is much faster because it does not use visual composer. That is why you see the shortcodes there. Unfortunately there is no way to add VC elements to the mobile theme. Sorry.
Thank you!
