Hi again, the problem seems to have been solved (by itself ?) after numerous attempts. However, I can’t install any plugins directly from my WP dashboard and need to add them manually via FTP.
Lastly, when I try to work on my Home page via tagdiv composer and save my last changes, it says “invalid page format”.
What’s wrong ?!
Marie
Hello,
Please try to do the same with plugins but leave the theme on this time. I think it;s connected with a plugin conflict between the theme and a certain plugin. Please leave the theme active and rename the plugins folder instead via cpanel or ftp and try it out.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
I assist with a long running website: mirrorboxtherapy.com.As part of an upgrade we installed the Newspaper 8 Theme. Although the site work and currently looks OK at the front end. We can’t log in to the dashboard to do updates or housekeeping. We get a login box but after entering our username and password, Firefox gives the message “The page isn’t redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”
Likewise Edge says “Hmmm… cannot reach this page”.
If we disable the theme by renaming it on FTP then we can log-in and change the theme. We have deleted and then re-installed Newspaper 8 but once it is activated the problem returns. It is therefore somehow connected to the theme. Please advise as to how this may be corrected.
Hi,
So the problem is that you cannot install the tagDiv composer and social counter. Try installing these plugins by FTP if they cannot be installed otherwise
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/step-by-step-guide-to-install-a-wordpress-plugin-for-beginners/
Place the unzipped plugins in the plugins directory in the WordPress install, then activate them in the plugins section.
Thanks
Nevermind. I don’t know what was wrong but I deleted the theme from the themes folder and my PC. I then re-downloaded a completely fresh copy of the theme from Envato and loaded that up via FTP. Now it seems everything works. It even activated as it should. Maybe Envato just served me a corrupted download.

Hello,
Sorry but there is no section of the theme panel for adding code to functions.php. Yopu will have top use the cpanel file explorer or FTP.
Thank you!
Blame Envato for a crappy updater. This is why *most* people update themes manually by FTP, so you can also do safety backup FIRST, in case you break something; this allows you to ‘roll back’ if the ‘auto update’ fails and kills your website.
Welcome to WordPress!
“So you mean there are no fonts present in the dropdown selection, in the theme panel font settings”
Yes, that´s correct…no options available, only the default font.
System status is o.k. too. All required modifications made.
Will all I created until now be lost when I reinstall the theme via ftp? If yes, is there another possibility to install the fonts?
Thanks!
Hi,
That is unusual. So you mean there are no fonts present in the dropdown selection, in the theme panel font settings

Maybe the theme did not install properly. You could try to reinstall it by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters if needed
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can ask your hosting provider to make them for you if needed. These are basically the theme requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Please let us know if you still have a problem.
Thanks
Hello Mohamed Kamil,
Notice that we only recommend using the FTP way for theme installing/updating because this is the surest method in this case. For more information about this way, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello harshadadesta,
First of all, make sure that you are using the latest theme version which can be downloaded from Theme Forest and then, using the FTP way you should install the theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ because this is the surest method in this case.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hello PAPPACLART,
Try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest theme method, clear all the caches and purge CDN files if you are using Cloudflare and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Notice that before each theme install, you should make a full backup to your database to avoid losing your data.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
I’m currently running version 7.5, but I’m about to update to version 8.1 using FTP. I see that there is now a TagDiv composer which looks great.
I have VC running, but only for pages not posts, however on pretty much all my posts I make use of the following VC shortcode:
[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"]
content
[/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"]
content
[/vc_column][/vc_row]
(I just manually add it to the html)
By upgrading to version 8.1 and making use of the TagDiv composer instead of VC, will all these shortcodes break?
Thanks.
hey, thank for your reply but you won’t believe that i have installed this theme with ftp method, then also it’s creating issue.
Hello Goldie1234,
Please make sure that you are using the latest theme packet which can be downloaded from Theme Forest. To be sure, try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest theme method, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ This message appears when you did not do something good with the theme installing. Try again to install the theme, clear all the caches and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello darkstarmarina,

Hello Zeeshank9,
If you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them because these might interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and check the results. If you need more assistance, in this case, you should provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello rnpacheco,
It seems to be a problem caused by your untested plugins. Try to disable all of them, purge all CDN files if you are using Cloudflare, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch, via FTP ay because this is the surest theme method, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
The plugin never worked right for me; I’d learn to do the FTP method as you can also make safety backup copies of your site at same time.
Hi,
The surest method to update the theme is by FTP, but you can do it with WordPress as well. This is a guide mentioning the steps you need to take. As recommended make full backups before, just to be safe
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also please check if the theme system status is set according to the documentation
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to make the changes for you if needed, as they might have a recommended method in this matter.
Thanks
Hi,
Please check the theme documentation as well. It is not difficult to install the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks
Hi,
You can access the theme files on the server by FTP for example
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-wordpress-file-and-directory-structure/
Changes made to the files inside the header folder can be made through a child theme, if you have one
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks
Hi,
The warning seems to be referring to a analyticstracking.php file, please note there is no such file in the theme. If you made any modifications to the theme files, check or remove them. Additionally deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, and clear all caching. Check if the warning is still generated.
As a final solution try re-installing the theme by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks
Hello LeagueOne,
Until now, please keep in mind that we do not have any bad reports in this case and the theme should work as expected by default. Try to make a new clean install to another domain and install the latest version of the theme via FTP way because this is the surest theme method. Clear all the caches and check the results. For more information about fixing this problem, please take a closer look at the following useful tutorial here -> http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-503-service-unavailable-error-in-wordpress/
Thanks for your understanding!
yeah. That plugin kind of sucks.
FTP is better way to consistently update theme without breaking, and also allows you to make a safety backup at same time!
