Hello gbhackersonsecurity,

First of all, you should make a full backup to your data to be safe. Then, you should download the latest version of theme from Envato Market and then, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ you should update the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello cipmweb,

I have inspected your source page of your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of these, leave just Visual Composer to active, install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core file and cause a lot of unknown issues. You should revert the theme to the default state, without any additional customizations and check the results. If the problem will be there after this advice, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.

Thanks for your understanding!

You should upload/install via FTP, as some servers have varied permission settings.

Hi,

From what I can see when inspecting your website – https://www.screencast.com/t/RWxF5Tgg you have an older version of Visual composer. Try updating the plugin to the latest version from the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please note that you should update all the plugins provided with the theme along with the theme update for better functionality.
If you still have this issue please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information and FTP access. Also paste a link to this topic for identification purposes.

Thanks

Hi,

If you still are experiencing problems with the menu, maybe a plugin could be interfering with this process. Try disabling all your plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and try to see if the issue is still present. If it is you can try as suggested a theme reinstall – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/ with the latest version and also use only the plugins bundled with the theme package to test this. Also make sure you have the latest version of WordPress installed.

Thanks

Hi,

Usually these kind of issues are solved by disabling problematic plugins and the modifications to the parameters mentioned above. You could try a fresh theme install with the latest version, maybe something went wrong during the installation process – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and use only the Visual composer plugin provided in the theme package, then make some tests to check if this problem occurs. Only after this consider changing servers, too see if this has any effect in this matter.

Thanks

FTP always best way to install anything with WP due to different server/ownership permissions on some servers.

Hello arslankerim,

Do you are using the child theme? Try to switch the theme to the main theme, clear all your caches and check the results. If your problem is still there nad if the theme updated was been made via FTP method, please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

You can simply access your site via ftp and delete the folder. There should be no more old version. Yo uare probably updating the old version by mistake again. It happens a lot. Please use this guide to update your theme and choose the ftp method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ or if you already deleted the theme folder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Thank you!

Hi,

This should not happen at any time, not to mention when you change the header style. The theme is tested and the demo functionality works properly. In your case something went wrong, be it a plugin conflict, or maybe custom code entered in theme panel, or added to the theme files.
Please try to make a fresh theme install – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and install only the plugins bundled with the theme.
These are the theme requirements – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hi,

It seems all your website in not functioning properly. Please try to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching installed and switch to the main theme if you have a child theme active. Also check any custom code you might have entered in theme panel, or added to the theme files. If the issue is still present, I suggest you try a fresh theme install – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ using only the plugins bundled with the theme and no child theme, to see if it displays as intended.

Thanks

if you still failed even you already upload the theme with file .zip correctly, the only way I guess is using FTP method.

yesterday I got that problem but I still haven’t gotten the answer. So, I used FTP Method from this thread -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ .

Pretty hard if you are new at this, same like me at first time. But I tried follow the guide from that thread with carefully and succesfull.

Good luck!

Just bought Newspaper 7 and tried to install it through theme installation and it keeps failing. tried looking through forums. Saw the suggestion to go through FTP, but I’m pretty new at this and can’t seem to work out how to do this. The reason I bought a premium theme was because I was lead to believe that it would be easier, but am starting to doubt this if a simple theme installation is so difficult. Would very much appreciate some help. Thanks

Hi Catalln,

Thanks for getting back to me. Indeed, I updated Newspaper over FTP. I’m also using a child theme, so no changes were ever made to your original files.

As far as I can see, the server is set up properly, using PHP 7.0 with the following settings: http://imgur.com/a/Iem8w

I noticed that if I view the page in question (or any other, for that matter) in the Plain text editor, inside the Visual Builder’s tags, the content is not readable, but rather it appears as some sort of hash. I don’t know if that’s standard behaviour. Anyway, I copied said content into an entirely new page, then tried to make some changes through VB, but they were not saved. Again, all caching is disabled.

Could you help me in any way, please?

Thanks!
