Hello uper_nic0las,
Unfortunately, we do not have any bad reports in this regard, until now, sorry! Most likely you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core file and cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hello Robotakis,
All the theme panel settings have been loaded in your database and you will not lose these if you will update the theme. Do this steps via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hi guys,
I bought the theme back in August and haven’t updated it yet. I’ve just been nervous and didn’t want to lose or break my website. I’m running version 7.3, but feel it’s time to update it.
I’ve read that I need to backup the files in case something goes wrong, but how do I do that? Do I have to download a certain plugin in order to back it up?
I’ve watched this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=r0hNjfCve1E), and it sounds like it’s pretty easy… I was just wondering if you had any tips for a newbie like me that has never done this before. Also, I DON’t plan on doing it through FTP… just WordPress.
I look forward to your reply.
Best,
Justin
Hello incscada,
Why do you not follow the steps which I gave you in the screen above? -> https://www.screencast.com/t/zP6IqXroDu Also, first of all, you should remove the old theme and then you have to load the latest version of theme, like in the above screenshot via FTP way.
Thanks.
Dear Catalin,
Thank you for the reply. I followed all the steps you outlined in your
previous reply, but without success.
I installed version 3.3.1 of the theme via ftp. I also deactivated all my
current plug ins to find if there are any clashes. However. the same
problem remains — my front page does not show when version 3.3.1 is
installed. Version 3.0 works fine, but when using 3.0 I am not able to edit
pages with Visual Composer.
I would be grateful for your assistance, as this is proving to be quite a
problem.
Thanks for your help,
Mark
Envato cannot update the VC plugin.
You need to update via FTP to have it done properly.
Hi Catalin:
Apologies. I’m still confused. In the examples I sent you here – http://626.377.myftpupload.com/2017/01/12/958/
I did not add either author box via visual composer. In both cases, it is the author attribute based on the user section so it automatically apends to any post to which I assign that author. Is there no way to assign the author role but just not have the box automatically show at the end of the post for a given author?
Hope this is a bit clearer.
Thanks
Hello factoryitalia,
If you want to update the theme, you should download the latest version of it from Theme Forest account and download it. Then, you should make a full backup to your database to be safe and then, via FTP you should update the theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello Oana1973,
You should interrupt the process and try to update the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. using the Envato Plugin, it is possible to appear some errors during the update which can influence this process. To avoid this, please use the FTP way according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for the message!
Hello all,
First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme. Otherwise, you have to take the latest version of it from Theme Forest and install it via FTP way on your domain. Remove the old version and install it the latest one. Also, you have to use only the required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Clear all your caches, purge CDN files and check the results.
If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Please provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello incscada,
You do not follow the right steps in your theme installing. You should load only the zip file inside the above folder which you have downloaded from ThemeForest, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/705bGdlB After to install the theme, please consult our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
1. Before Theme istallation check Requirements (your hosting or server) for Newspaper: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
2. Recommended Install Theme via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
That plugin has never worked right for us — ever.
Best to use FTP, with something like Filezilla, as you can also make a safety backup of your site docs same time; remove old broken themes, etc.

Update Theme only via FTP (read section A. Update the theme via FTP)
Hi:
Thanks for the fast response. It is one specific author, a generic catchall called New Buffalo Times staff – but many, many posts on an ongoing basis so it would be better if there is a way to add code that says anytime its from this author, don’t display box.
Here is a sample for that author:
http://626.377.myftpupload.com/author/newbuffalotimes/
versus an actyal author where we have a bio etc.

Thanks

Update: I uploaded the theme through FTP in the wp-content/themes folder, This worked!! So if you are getting same error, do this. //Axel
I’m trying to upload it from FTP instead through WP theme page. Hopefully it’s going to work.

Hello femprez,
You should try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. I do not know what settings you made, sorry! Probably you break the site. Make a full backup to your database and make a new clean install from scratch.
