Hello mikeytrooper,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and Social Counter 4.1, otherwise, please try to update them only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, please ensure that you have right set your Social Facebook Counter according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/ Try to clear all your caches and test it again and see how it will work.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Gee95,
Please ensure that you have updated your theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.1.1, Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) only through FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, if you are some trouble with saving and if you are using the Wordfence plugin, please try to disable it or try to set it according to Bryson T advice, from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-settings/
Also, please ensure that your parameters are increased to be higher, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello lospicos,
Please ensure that you have fully updated your Social Counter to the latest version of it (4.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, please keep in mind that it could take a while until you get the result from your Facebook because this is not a live request. PLeae try to clear all your caches and test it again and see how it work.
Thaks for your understanding!
Hi
Yes, basically if you replace old files with the ones from patch folder the update should be completed successfully. However you have to proceed with caution as there are lots of files and best way to update is via wordpress or via ftp as is indicated in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks!
Hello codexseo,
Please notice that if you want to achieve this slider effect, you will have to use the Visual Composer Slider element for pages, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/QsM8LpKb98mu and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/mVdXbiPA So, please keep in mind that the maxim size for our theme is 1068*580 px and if you want to achieve full-width layout, we cannot recommend increasing this element because you will break the theme layout. Please notice that our theme has not been designed to be used in full-width, but only in this size ->1068*580px. So, another alternative for your would be to use the Revolution Slider. For more information about how you can use this plugin, please try to read the documentation here -> https://www.themepunch.com/revsliderjquery-doc/slider-revolution-jquery-5-x-documentation/ and here you will find some information about how it could be installed in our theme -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/ Please keep in mind that you can upload and activate it through FTP because this is the surest method in this regard.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
You don’t have to purchase these plugins: as for the WPBakery Visual Composer, just deactivate it, delete it and then, reinstal lit from the theme plugins tab.
As for the Slider Revolution, it’s packaged inside your Newspaper pack/folder. You can upload and activate it through FTP or, as indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
Regards
Hi
Please make sure that you updated the theme according with our documentation, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again. Make sure you do a clean update. By this I mean that you have to delete current theme’s install and upload new themes files via WordPress or via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks!
Delta plugin with WP website is not enough.
Delta plugin wp-content / plugins / js_composer. with ftp client
Upload the js_composer again and activate.
Deleting the plugin WP website is not always successful.
Hi,
The update should go smoothly and no settings should be lost as the settings are kept in the database including custom code added in the theme panel. It’s best to always do a back-up just in case. The ftp method is the safest one as if an error occurs in the update process, you will have to delete the files and upload the new theme files anyway. We recommend using the ftp method and follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Please also make sure to update your plugins as well (visual composer and social counter)
Thanks.
Hello siktirella,
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) and FTP access so we can further inspect your setup page. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
I did the update today and I’m having quite a few issues after the update.
I’ve completely deleted the theme and child theme folders and made sure the upload is a clean upload of the files to the FTP server, but still seeing errors.
1) The top header initially shows as blue and then changes to the correct color, orange. This never happened before and happens every time I refresh any page.
2) The events pages (http://mauimagazine.net/maui-events/) show a style problem where the text is squeezed and shows a big gap on the right side, making the whole page look long and bad. I have tested deactivating all other plugins and can see the problem is not a conflict among plugins.
3) My customizations to my child theme do not see to be showing properly – custom title tags for events pages generated by The Events Calendar Pro.
4) I tried using the mobile template plugin and it causes a whole bunch of errors. On the new mobile template, none of any page content shows. Just the footer content shows. And the events calendar page does not load any listings and gives this error message: nothing loading: wp booster error: td_module: td_module_mob1($post is not WP_Post
If 2 & 3 require me to get support from the premium plugin, I will go there. Since the theme change caused this problem today, I’m pretty sure it’s the theme code, not the plugin itself.
I already emailed support directly with my license code and login info, but I appreciate a reply or response to this and a followup via email.
Thank you.
Hi
I’ve checked your site and the theme seems to work fine. I am not sure why the temperature it’s displayed with so many decimals but you can try with a different location and check how it works. Also I’ve noticed that if I click twice on the temperature number it’s displayed fine: http://screencast.com/t/33QIaeGc1S
Please address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com with a link to this conversion. Also give us wp-admin and ftp access and we will inspect this issue in shortest time possible.
Thanks!
Hello Oana1973,
I suspect your problem comes from your untested plugins which you are using on your side. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme with the required plugins and these processes were made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thaks for your understanding!
Hello Charl,

Also, please make sure if you have done this process only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, please check your Big Grid Settings and check it to be filtered properly to display valid results.
If your problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
I’ve deactivated all plugins except Visual Composer 4.11.2, Social Counter 4.1, and tagDiv Mobile Theme 1.0. I’ve deleted the theme/Newsletter folder from the FTP (making my website down). Again downloaded the fresh theme file from Themeforest and uploaded them to the FTP.
It didn’t help. I still get similar errors with the theme.
Could you please help?
Hi
You don’t need to buy the theme again. As long as you have a valid license for our theme you have unlimited access to updates. You just have to login in your themeforest account and download last theme’s version available in downloads section. We released V 3.0 for Newsmag yesterday so you can update to that version following our documentation. Make sure you do a clean update. By this I mean that you have to delete current theme’s install and upload new themes files via WordPress or vis ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Also deactivate all others plugins except Visual Composer and test the site again.
Also please address us in English as we don’t speak Spanish and it’s hard to understand your messages.
Thanks!
I have downloaded and uploaded via FTP once again. I got all the files including missing one. However, I stuck with another issue. During deleting and uploading new files, I realized my custom login page (created with shortcode from admin area) is blank now. But most likely nothing to do with your theme but with something else.
I will modify code as per your guidance and get back to you with the result.
Thanks
Jatin Soni
Hello TechTris,
Please ensure that you have fully updated your theme to the latest version and also, all the required plugins has been updated to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method for theme updating. Please make sure that this type of problem does not come from your untested plugins and to avoid this case, please try to disable all the plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Please check the parameters from your system status to be higher increased in order to achieve the best result. You will have to set them according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
If you are trying to find the file in the dashboard editor, you will not be able to. You need to use FTP. (we use filezilla but you most likely have a ftp manager in the c-panel)
Thank you!
Hello buczek,
Please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and install only the plugins that come bundled with it (only via FTP) and see how it will work with the default settings. Please notice that our theme has been fully tested and is working as properly.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello thesangramkakad,
Please ensure that you have fully installed the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, if you have any untested plugins on your install, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file is you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please notice that our theme has very complex one and if it possible that untested plugins to interact with it and might cause a lot of unknown issues, like this. Please avoid this case through ruling out of these plugins and check the results.
Also, if your problem is still there after doing this advice, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of it and see how it goes the theme with the default settings.
