@fergofer00 algo estás haciendo mal.
I tried the new social counter in Newspaper 4, crashed the site, no problem I deleted the plugin and have found an older version of the plugin which works for Twitter anyway, the others show zero, but at least site is online.
The problem now is I can’t seem to add media/posts or deactivate plugins. The errors I get on the WP dashboard:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/en/wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 627″
(XXXXXX = site ref so am hiding it here) Also I see:
Warning: number_format() expects parameter 1 to be double, string given in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/en/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-utils.php on line 608
– I have the site backed up and I am prepared to do the upgrade to v. 6 but part of the instructions are to deactivate plugins which I cannot seem to do.
Shall I go to FTP and delete plugins there, and do the upgrade?
Claro.
1. ok . so it will load the generated images from folder directly and it wont displayed in media library – dashboard ? we can only delete them in FTP am i right here ?
2. and whats wrong with this ? http://snag.gy/5sVC1.jpg (the trendy photo pic) its too large or didnt crop or generate properly ? is this load from the correct generated images as well or not ?

is this load from the correct generated images as well or not ?
Hello, I get this fatal error on my page ( aeknea.gr )after I updated with ftp to Newspaper 6:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_column_offset_class_merge() in /var/www/vhosts/aeknea.gr/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/vc_templates/vc_column.php on line 22
Hi,
I’ve tried to disable all plugins to check if one may cause this issue but now i cannot log in.
Please resend the credentials via email at contact@tagdiv.com , also include ftp access.
Disable all plugins except for Visual Composer and Disqus, disable the CDN and if you use an external cache disable it.
Thank you!
Try this via FTP:
a) delete all themes from theme folder except the last 3 ‘twenty’ themes that come with WordPress — WP will default to a stock theme if no other theme installed
b) rename the plugin folder to xplugin
c) login to your WP admin; then go to themes and change theme to twenty-fourteen; this resets the transient setting trying to load old themes
d) then rename plugins folder back
Hi,
Please upgrade to version 6 via FTP, by removing the old theme(like it is specified in the documentation) as this version must be regarded like a new theme so make sure that old files will not remain as it could cause some issues – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and update also the plugins that come with the theme files. Then please run the script, it will import old settings from database and it will change the shortcodes(it is specified in the docs) – http://screencast.com/t/eZxxuqvsTir Unfortunately you will have to re-add widgets on your sidebars, some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore, also please note that if you have custom modifications to the theme files or custom css it will not work with new version.
Hope this helps!

Gracias por el tutorial. Pero a pesar de que he hecho una instalación limpia, la versión 6.2 no se instala bien. Los iconos de las redes sociales, visitas, comentarios,… incluso en el Frontend del Theme, NO se muestran. Tampoco me funciona Zencache Pro.
Hi,
If you still have this issue, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide ftp and wp-access, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are.
Thanks!
See Cloudflare for help with setting CORS directive or ignore for fonts so they can be loaded “cross domain” — it’s a security feature.
Your fonts for the icons are in the font folder of theme; so you will need to upload that via FTP and make sure your FTP software has a setting to automatically detect text vs binary files (most do, some don’t).
However, if using Cloudflare that is more likely the issue.
Font is already in binary format (anything not a text file is a binary file – such as images, or font files).
Hello,
This is my test site: http://43c.81d.myftpupload.com my background used to work but its not coming up anymore and i think something changed in the update that’s why its not showing anymore. Could you please have a look?
Thanks.
I tried disabling the Plugins folder via FTP – doing so results in this:
W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/epictu6/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/epictu6/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/external/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php on line 2238
Remove (renaming) the advanced-cache.php does nothing.
Hi,
Please make sure that you update using this guide(try FTP method) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also please make sure that you update the plugins that come with the theme files that you have downloaded from themeforest, you can find them in /plugins folder.
I have checked your site and it works, but you use version 4 of the theme. If you update from version4 please the above link, it is also specified there how to update from version 4, run the script..
Thanks!
Just went in to the Envato backupfolder, extracted the backup, deleted the whole Newspaper-folder on my FTP and copied the old version from the zip back on. Everything seems to be working.
Was this the right way to do it? :-/
I have changed memory as such:
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');
no change.
It is a clean install, am using main theme not a child theme. I have turned of all plugins besides VC. As for the logo problem, I have uploaded it to the media library with WordPress admin panel so it changes the path successfully on the Theme Panel and saves just fine but then when I view the site, no changes have taken place even after I clear my cache in browser. I can change it only if I upload it directly in cPanel or FTP it in but I shouldn’t have to do that lol. And nothing else I do in Theme Panel reflects any changes either, I can modify top bar, header, ad codes and pretty much everything else and even tells me it has saved successfully but then when viewing the site… no change.
Hi there,
First of all, great theme!
I’ve got a question about custom font.
I already studied the documentation in this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-typography/. However, custom font still doesn’t work.
The font was converted to .woff file and I uploaded to the server via ftp. The link I added in CUSTOM FONT FILE 1 is /domains/blogpackers.com/public_html/wp-content/uploads/Fonts/PraJad/csprajad-webfont.woff. I’m not sure whether it is correct.
Can you please help advise?
Hi,
I’ve checked your site and found that one required theme class isn’t present to VC plugin row containers.
Try to re-install the theme and to do it connect via FTP remove theme’s folder then upload the theme’s files (don’t overwrite it). Use this guide – FTP method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ and also make sure you do a backup of your current installation in case something goes wrong.
If this is still not working try to add this condition: http://pastebin.com/7ZU24LP6 to the booster functions file, like this: http://screencast.com/t/5JdhsfE3o
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks
Hi lighterside,
I’ve checked your site and the posts Chris also mentioned: http://dev.lightersideofrealestate.com/real-estate-life/cool-stuff/tiny-house-bestie-row and found that pages html structure ends unexpected: http://screencast.com/t/KRNumYJIcOhW
Also check switching to the main theme as test if this still happens as I see you’re using the child theme: http://screencast.com/t/PAG6UxPwXDbv
If no errors appear and still can’t find the reason of this you should check your error.log file, there should be some useful information there related to this.
If you have access to your error.log file, please paste a copy here so we can take a look. You can find it via ftp or c-panel. If you don’t have access to it ask your host provider for a copy.
Thanks
Hi,
Sorry we have missed as we believed that it was solved: “nevermind i got them thank you for the support” also please create other thread as we put topics on resolved when users resolve their issues.
What version of Visual Composer do you use? You will have to revert to version provided with 4.6.3 version if this you are using. You can find it here – http://screencast.com/t/XMAUkWRZ7Ow and please delete current version of Visual Composer that you use via FTP and upload this version from /old folder.
Also for child theme please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with you request and also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are.
Thanks!
I also tried switching to Newspaper parent theme and I tried overwriting all theme files via ftp (originally installed the theme via the admin since it was the first version of any tagDiv theme in the database).
I also deleted VC via ftp and re-installed. Didn’t help.
Last theme I was using used VC, too, v4.4.4. I switched from that theme to Newspaper on this site. Could the problem be settings from that old theme left behind? If so, how do I identify the issue and resolve it?
Thanks.
Make sure you upload the font folder in binary mode via FTP;
Make sure you have a CORS setting if loading the theme icon font via a CDN, Cloudflare, etc. and/or refresh/release/reset/clear any CDN type stuff (caching).
Hi,
@feliceguerriero – Try to check the theme files, or switch the site to maintenance, delete the current theme and upload a fresh one.
If you can’t solve it please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , paste a link to this conversation and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can take a look.
Thank you!
