Greetings,
I would appreciate assistance with the following line separator issues for http://bit.ly/1wJQy7F
1) Please advise how to add the gray dotted line separator which appears between module 5 post links to also appear between module 6 and 7 post links as per: http://www.screencast.com/t/0FEVr5lro
2) Please advise how to replace the top and bottom module solid line separators with dotted lines as per: http://www.screencast.com/t/de0vl1wa7Wd
3) Please advise how to either remove or replace the header logo line separator with a transparent line as per: http://www.screencast.com/t/kMlZXyCb
<!– copy and paste. Modify height and width if desired. –>
4) Please advise how to reduce module line separator padding so that there is less space between top and bottom borders and post links.
Thank you.
Please show me how to add/upload my own ads images for Header, sidebar and etc…
My site is for a client, and the site owner sure don’t want to use Google AdSense (not all website owner wants Google AdSense). The owner wants to get other people to advertise on the site.
All I can see in the Theme Panel —> Ads —-> :YOUR HEADER AD with a big blank space on the right.
So, how are we going to upload our own ads images?
Can you make it more easier like the HEADER —-> Logo and Favicon?
(just let us select and upload our ads images?)
Thank you for your help?
I apologize if this is a very basic question but I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to figure it out for the past two days. I figured I would just stop and ask at this point in the hopes that somebody can help me. With any luck, the solution is something simple that I have book overlooking.
I’m setting up a new blog and it is my first time using Newspaper. When setting the featured image for posts, I am using as big as images as I can think to use so that they won’t need to scale up to cover any of the possible thumbnail sizes.
Yet as you can see here – http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/Sims4Sarah/bloghelp1_zpsei3uuxin.jpg – I am still ending up with random grey space. Often, it is in the big grid headers but not always. It can be in the thumbs of the lower units too.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I’m putting it in the featured space on each post – http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/Sims4Sarah/bloghelp2_zpsss8nmwzr.jpg and I have been experimenting with larger and larger dimensions in hopes that I’ll hit on a magic size that means I don’t have the problem any more (I installed Force Regenerate Thumbnails and ran it each time I replaced with a new size) but nothing is working.
Here is an example of a featured image size on a recent post entry – http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f54/Sims4Sarah/bloghelp3_zpsfviucxpy.jpg
What am I doing wrong? I have all of the thumb sizes still switched to ‘blue’ in the theme panel block settings, if that matters.
Update
For this page I have made the following CSS – and it did the trick. However, I’m not sure it’s the most efficient way to style the bottom border, so if you can take a look, and perhaps suggest a better CSS for the bottom border :-)?
I have only inserted the CSS code for the page linked to above.

I am adding the google adsense code in theme panel Header and Sidebar but nothing show up, is there anything I need to do? If I add image as explained in theme documentation to use costume ad then that show up, not sure if anything to do with adsense code.

http://postimg.org/image/pjh8elp4d/
^^ Same here, when I try to change or update header, it auto-returns to default!”
Here are my problems. Also, the problem you did address, for some reason it is automatically adding a “\” after where the apostrophe should be.
There is no appropriate “speed” — benchmark. As every web server varies as well as the level of optimization you do to it.. for instance are you optimizing your wp-config.php file ? TTL and additions to your .htaccess, mods to functions.php file to remove redundant code from headers, remove external loading elements, optimize font delivery from Google by taking the code and putting into your style.css file to only load fonts and not the CSS, etc.
Does your hosting account have a 10/100/1000 switch connected to net vs 10/100 ?
Are you running mod_pagespeed or http/2 ?
Each “post” can load at different speed based on content, server optimization, caching, etc.
Server response time is very important (ours is 0.33 seconds and Google complains about that!).
Some basic testing with *no caching* for reference (all include google fonts, and icons font, jquery from google, google fonts).
Some of our pages load in 2 seconds and not fully optimized, but 1.1MB in size, google fonts, non optimized disqus plugin, 3 ad units on page. http and mod_pagspeed basic setting.
Smaller page, 2.01 sec. (no disqus, 2 ad units, google fonts), 950kb.
Now, on a fully optimized page – no caching:
2.09 seconds (per Pingdom), with 100/100 “grade” 271kb, no ads, google fonts, https page!; mod_pagespeed, NO caching. So, 2.09 sec. on the single run (re-run might be quicker due to some server caching on back end), and yet gets 100/100 grade.
Google does like sites with sub 1 sec loading, but this requires massive amount of micro-optimizations and very effective caching, and generally no external content loading (e.g., native fonts, etc.).
Just some food for thought
… I’m actually working on optimizing our new CMS, and going through the same shenanigans to see “best we can do pre caching” — meaning 100/100 pingdom, 100/100 UX and 98/100 speed on Google Pagespeed insights (hard to get 100/100 consistently it seems … I tweak it, then they hit me with the 0.33 server response too slow!!!).
Always a fun time! 🙂

Hi,
1. The logo can be changed from Theme Panel -> Header -> Logo – http://screencast.com/t/3YnCwLCYyyu
2. Not sure where those items (the “photography” “categories” and “travel” tabs) are located on your side, please provide more details or the site url. Also check if this doesn’t come from the max_input_vars parameter on your server, you can read more about it here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If you can’t figure what’s causing this please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , include a link to this conversation and provide wp-admin access so we can take a look.
Thank you!
Hi,
It’s not a critical error, it’s a common issue which appears when you try to access the index.php file directly. WordPress uses permalinks and internal functions, you don’t have to access the template files directly. A solution for this is described here – https://ardamis.com/2011/06/02/fix-for-php-fatal-error-get_header-in-wordpress/
Thank you!
Hi,
You could hide the header and other sections by using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css and you can use page unique id to hide them only on specific page, for example – http://screencast.com/t/khqk0PJ3 or for post page – http://screencast.com/t/AgR3vo5QhN
Regarding the analytics code please make sure you use the right code, use this guide: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1008080?hl=en You have to paste the entire code provided on your analytics account, if you paste only the id it will appear on top of the page.
The code starts with the <script> tag and it ends with </script> I guess this is what you mean.
If you need more assistance regarding this or you have other issues with the theme please note that we will get in touch with you Monday – http://screencast.com/t/5EQlEtXSFCp
Thanks for understanding! Happy new year!

Hi,
Please check theme’s documentation as you can use a header style that allows you to use a full logo image – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/ so just check Theme Panel > Header and use a header template with full logo – http://screencast.com/t/apyk06xP

I am having trouble making my head and footer widths stretch full screen like in the demo, how do you make that happen?
Hi Bogdan.
Thank you for the fast reply.
Maybe you can tell me how to fix this issue then, the header is being displayed above the advertisement.
Hello,
I notice this error in the log file:
2015/12/28 02:35:39 [error] 3496#3496: *1631689 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /var/www/site/public/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/index.php on line 6” while reading response header from upstream, client: 66.249.73.191, server: http://www.site.com, request: “GET /wp-content/themes/Newsmag/ HTTP/1.1”, upstream: “fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:”, host: “www.site.com”
Hi!
I would like to know If I can disable the Header, the menu and the side widgets for one page that I have.
The reason for this is that the page in question plays an audio stream, and is accessed by clicking on an image on the home page. It is designed to allow the user to go back to the main page and browse whilst listening to music.
But was is happening: the user get taken to page that looks like the rest of the pages, and instead of going back to the main page, they start clicking the menu of the ‘radio’ page. This then stops the music!
The second part is:
How can I take away the Google analytics tracking ID from my website? I want to have Google analytics, but I don’t want the Tracking ID present on the page!
Thanks!

Hi,
Can you also help me with the below:
1. CCS code to narrow the height of the footer, but I need a white line in between the footer with sub footer
2. How do I edit the title in the footer, “ABOUT US” to “BUSINESS CARD MANAGEMENT”?
2a. In the Footer Text, can you help me to make the textlink “Free Trial – Apple & Android” in bigger fonts and in Orange colour?
3. how do I widen the width for the logo in my header and align it with “NEWS”?
Thanks!!
Hi
The theme doesn’t have an option to chose if the header ad will be displayed or not in a specific category. To remove the header ad from a category page you can add a conditions in ads.php like here: http://screencast.com/t/LO8DMY1T2Y
<?php
if (!is_category(array(id1, id2))){
echo td_global_blocks::get_instance('td_block_ad_box')->render(array('spot_id' => 'header'));
}
// show the header ad spot
?>
Just add the ids for the category pages in which you don’t want to display the header ad. To get the category id follow this link: http://screencast.com/t/AYBYVkw5
Thanks!

Hello,
I am trying to set Header Style back to Default value (Style 1). But when I set this style, Save Settings and go out from Theme Panel, after I come back, I see the same old style.
This problem is only with Style 1. If I set any other style, it stays in settings.
I deleted cache, try it in various browsers (Chrome, Safari under Mac OS). It doesn’t help.
Please, help.
Sadly, Jetpack doesn’t always play well with other stuff. Often an update is needed by them to address stuff like this since all the JP stuff is loading off the Automattic server.
Likely they have some element that is causing a conflict.
You might try doing alternate placement of the GA code; e.g., not using theme panel, putting in the header or footer manually, or using a different plugin, or the Yoast option, or whatever.
I’m sure somebody else using both JP and GA might have a solution, but I don’t use JP and instead find other plugins or code so I don’t have to suffer the invevitable bugs with JP.
Is possible do this?
I am not talking the default wordpress widget
Example: Header Banner choice category to show or hide
