i tryed to play with HEADER ALIGNMENT UP/DOWN (didn’t find information about that in documents) it didn’t help couse nothing changes with that :)))

Logo on top of menu in mobile - topic

Hi,

I have a problem with mobile logo:

I have set my header style as Style 1. No designated mobile logo. At the moment in mobile (iPhone 4S) my logo and menu icons are on top of each other = in mobile it’s not possible to use the main menu.

What should I do? Thanks for quick reply!

Sorry for the delay!
1. Could please let me know on which mobiles have you encountered this character issues? A screenshor would also help.
2. Unfortunately I can’t recommend you one and also guarantee it will work as we haven’t tested any plugins of this type.
You can use the WordPress schedule system: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/ or a plugin like: Auto Post Scheduler or similar.
For the expire header please check point 2 from this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/pagespeed-guide/

Google give me error on the follow URL – Googlebot couldn’t access the contents of this URL because the server had an internal error when trying to process the request

http://www.example.com/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/

It seems this page should be redirects on 403 forbidden right ?

For http://www.example.com/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/ we noticed that following errors in log files:

Show default avatar on top menu - topic

Hi,

I tried messing with the top menu part where there is the “signin / join” text link. I’d like to have a 20×20 default avatar displayed with the text when a user is not yet logged in. So it looks more fluid before a user is actually logged in and then displays their own avatar as usual.

How can I add the default avatar to this part:

I add a page for handling the “contact us” function, and I add the default template “contact us”. Is this supposed to be a complete template with fields for names etc?

I just get a page with som dummy text (which I can change of course), and the Contact details and About us headers. And nothing more.

I would expect this theme to have a complete contact us (default) template. Can you help me out?

Hi and Happy New Year,

I have two problems and I need your help and advice:

1) Ι have two sites with Newspaper Theme : http://www.alexiptoto.com/ and http://constantinoupoli.com/ .
The first has 4.6.1 version and the other one 3.8. I do not update it cause I have a problem with greek letters.

In both I have enable GREEK EXTENDED SUPPORT and just GREEK SUPPORT and in some devices like INEW Mobile (not all) the letters look like black boxes. In constantinoupoli.com 3.8 everything looks fine in all devices.

2) I have a bandwith problem on my server and I try to reduce it. I post every one hour an article on http://www.alexiptoto.com/ . Do you suggest and plugin which can help?

Also can you send me the code for expire headers that you advice for the theme to add on htaccess file???

I am using WordPress Popular Posts on my Newsmag site and I am not finding a way how to put a widget on the homepage with the visual composer.

The plugin provides a php query function like this ( <?php wpp_get_mostpopular( ‘header=”Popular Posts”‘ ); ?> )

But I don’t know how to put in on my homepage with my visual composer.

Has anyone a way to do this?

Best bet is to setup working project on a website, such as
yoursite.com/wordpress/

then when you go live, move to yoursite.com
(directions on the wordpress.org show how to do this)

This way you can see what actually works on a real web server vs localhost, where things do NOT always work as expected, particularly plugins and optimizations for speed (caching, expiration headers, image optimization, etc).

Best to setup your site without demo data, which is really only useful for showing to a client. Best to start with CLEAN site, and import a “style” then put in your own original content, since the demo content cannot actually be used for anything in the real world.

Hi guys

I bought today the theme and i am an amateur who is learning WP. I installed the sample data and i added a logo and one ad banner on the header and it looked great. So i have here a few questions before i keep on creating things.

1. If i finish all the development of the website on the sample data ( i am working on localhost ), how can i see what my real website looks like and how can i move it to a real server to display it on the web if this is a sample data.

2. In sample data all functions of template settings are not working and to be honest i think more stuff are not working.

3. Would it be better to remove the sample data? And if so how can i do it? I found a plugin to reset data and may be this could work so to avoid to do it manually since i don’k know what files to delete. Do you have any solution or can you guide me to what i should delete.

One solution that i am thinking is to open in xampp a new database and download again wordpress and your theme and start everything from scratch since i did not make a lot of things anyway.

Let me know your thoughts and advices

Hi,

I have tested this and haven’t found any issues. The desktop logo doesn’t appear on mobile when you use header style 8 so you need to add a mobile logo like I suggested.

but the solution doesn’t work in the newest version of newsmag. Could you help me with that one?

Visual composer drag and drop not working - reply

Hi,

I have removed the visual composer folder via ftp as you stated but I am still getting this error message when I try to reinstall it.

The plugin does not have a valid header.

Downloading install package from /home/katsdeli/public_html/review/wp-content/themes/Newsmag-child/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip…

Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.

Where can I down load the visual composer folder from, to upload via ftp?

I want my main menu to have white background with black text. What changes do I need to make in the original css file to prevent default main menu backgound color and the blue line above it from loading first?

I tried changing:

.td-header-main-menu {
background-color: #222222;
position: relative;
z-index: 2;
/* responsive portrait phone */
}

to this:

.td-header-main-menu {
background-color: #ffffff;
position: relative;
z-index: 2;
/* responsive portrait phone */
}

but it didn’t work, the default color and blue line still loads first.

What do I need to edit?

Please write on the Newsmag forum support and provide more details, what header style do you use? the logo should be centered after the banner? because the logo will be in left and in right an empty space, can you make a mockup with what you want to achieve? https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newsmag/

Display and scaling problems with header ads on iPad - topic

Hello,

I hope you had a nice christmas. I took the time and implemented adsense to my site. However, I stumbled over a problem with the ads, in particular how they are displayed on iPads in portrait mode. I am talking about the header ad banner. My theme is configured with header style 1 (logo + ad) + menu.

1. When I disable the ads on phone for the Header ad as your recommend, the header ad will not just be deacivated on phone but also on the iPad in vertical (portrait) mode. Landscape works fine. The portrait configuration however does not seem to have an effect. Why does this happen?

2. The same with sizes. When I adjust AdSense sizes for Portrait, the customization has no effect on the ads displayed on the iPad. Just the option for Phone does adjust the size. The default configuration (with activated ads on phone which we should not do) displays too small ad banners unlike your newspaper demo with 468×60 pixel. I assume the size is optimized for phones which have different default sizes than the iPad.

What I need to do is have header ads properly scaled and displayed in portrait mode on iPads while header ads on phones are deactivated. Am I mistaken with my configuration or do I fight with a bug? What can I do to fix it?
