Probably this is happening because of a plugin. Try to disable all plugins except Visual Composer and see if the problem persists. If not, enable them one at a time, to spot the one causing it. If none of this works add this code in the Theme Panel->Custom Css

It does not work because you have the code in the else statement. I’m not sure if you want to only show the header ad on the new_category or everywhere but the one category. Make sure the category name is the same otherwise use the category ID instead. For example: http://screencast.com/t/bv9R7y5y

This worked for the space, but it took away the menu with it. I only wanted to remove the space between menu and header.

There is a solution for this, just enter this code in the Theme panel->Custom Css

}
However, you should consider changing your Header style because if you plan on adding more menu elements in the future, this will not work.
Take note that when you set a background color or image, your website will automatically change to the boxed version and a Full header style will adapt to give you the best result.

Never mind. I fiugred it out. I had made a change to the CSS and had to undo it. Now I have the black box back, and I fixed the header menu based on your information. Thank you again for help.
I was having the problem in “Live Preview.” I didn’t want to activate the Child Theme until I resolved the issue. Your information was very helpful though. I didn’t realize that all I had to do was check the box inside “menus” on the left side panel. That should have been obvious. This worked perfectly to get the footer menu, but since we had this chat, now I no longer have any black header menu at all. Checking the header boxes on the left-side panel doesn’t bring it back. Before it had a “customize” message. Now it’s gone. Any ideas? If not, it’s not a big deal.

1. A. Open your homepage in the Edit Page section like this – http://prntscr.com/djak7x
B. Scroll down to the Visual Composer editor and select the row containing the Big grid block http://prntscr.com/dk2msh
C. In Row Settings -> General -> Row Stretch, select Stretch row. Then, just bellow check the Full height row box – http://prntscr.com/djan7m
D. Go to Design Options, next to the General tab and choose the color you want for your background – http://prntscr.com/djao7x

2. Newspaper theme has a fixed width of 1068 pixels(content), that was the way it was designed.
3. When you set a background color or image, the theme automaticaly becomes boxed https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/. The only way is to remove your background and

I have somehow lost the text “Follow us on Instagram” in Instagram Footer. Only the name of my account “@ladiesabroad” is now shown above the pictures.
When the page is loading, the Swedish text “Följ oss på Instagram” is visible for a brief second under the header slider, on the right side. How did the text end up under the slider?
