Layout of home page and posts is completely random – sometimes looks like a mobile width sometimes everything overlaps and then it’s fine. Problems started with latest theme update.
Hello, sorry for my not perfect english… i’ve used visual composer for my homepage and i used “Hide on device” option for hide content on mobile so the users could see only grid and news block on smartphone and tablet.
The issue is that if i make a check on homepage with google search tools i see grid and news block that i created for mobile also in desktop view…..

I’ve just updated my newspaper theme sent by themeforest. Before that, I was using v7.7.1. I did have Background color set to Grey. After updating to v7.8, my blocks on homepage are become on edges which are clearly visible that there is no padding between the Grey background color and block’s title, content and thumb images.
It seems too ugly now. Please help me how to correct it/add padding or something wrong I’ve done?
I am also using Child theme, where there are lot of customization I already have.

On the homepage you can use visual composer to edit the page so you can add your content to the page. However a post on bbpress is not a post you can add anywhere. bbpress is a forum. You should check with the bbpress documentation on methods you can implement their plugin on the homepage.

I think the problem is related with cache.
I have this error when I test the cache using cache tester:
One or more page requests failed:
Page 1: 401 (Unauthorized)
Page 2: 401 (Unauthorized)
The pages do not match! Timestamps differ or were not found!
Things you can do:
1. Load your homepage in a logged out browser, check the timestamp at the end of the html source. Load the page again and compare the timestamp. Caching is working if the timestamps match.
2. Enable logging on the Debug page here. That should help you track down the problem.
You should check Page 1 and Page 2 above for errors.
3. Your local server configuration may not allow your website to access itself.
I don’t know how to proceed. How can I check the timestamp at the end of the html source? What does it mean? I see a number next to the time at the logging file .txt and when I refresh the site I see the same number, but I’m not sure if this number is the timestamp or not.

Hi,
If you have made fresh theme install and used only the latest version of the plugins provided in the theme package, the problem should not be present anymore. But I see nothing has changed at the moment, and the Big grid is still missing from the homepage. Try making a test page and add some elements from Visual composer in it, then save and check if there is any problem.
Also check the theme status – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and see if there are any modifications needed to be made according to the guide.

I just installed and activated the newspaper theme via wordpress admin panel on hostgator wordpress host.
I’m not sure whats going on, looks like the theme is properly installed but the homepage loads the regular default hostgator page?
Homepage: healthmeetscience.com – as you can see this loads the default theme on homepage?
But for example, http://healthmeetscience.com/2017/04/04/health-star-ratings-kellogg-reveals-the-cereal/ one of the demo pages is loading so I don’t understand what’s going on? I followed the install instructions exactly.

I have updated the theme and then deactivated all plugins. For a minute, it was fixed but then again I tried changing with other grid and it again vanished. It has wasted my 1 hour of time which is actually insane. I tried activating few plugins. I deactivated w3 total cache as well when I was updating the homepage, Should I install the composer file again?
I think it’s because of a plugin. But I just have the basic plugins.

I’ve included the tabs section on my homepage (http://pocketmanchester.pocketmcr.co.uk) but I’m not sure what Custom CSS I need to add to the Theme Panel to make it so that all of the tabs look the same as the ‘Rugby League’ and ‘Other Sport’ tabs?
For example I’d like the ‘hover’ and ‘clicked’ states of the titles to be the same yellow as the last 2 tabs (not multicoloured like the first 5) and the category to have a slightly transparent black background (again, like the last 2 tabs) which changes to yellow when hovered over.

Hi, almost finished my website using your excellent theme. I’m very excited!
One thing I can’t seem to solve: on my homepage I used Visual Composer to build the page. I want the font color of the excerpts to be the same as the rest of the site. However, I can’t find where to change it. It’s still grey #777.
I use CSS Hero, but it won’t stick. I searched in the css files of the plugin, but can’t find where to change font color.
Could you help me out?

I can see the Big grid is present on top of the page, but it is not displaying properly and does not contain any modules. Maybe something was damaged in the theme by this reset. Try to uninstall and remove the Visual composer plugin, the upload the latest version from the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Then edit your homepage and remove the big grid from the page structure, and add it again. Then update the page and check to see if the problem is still there. Also disable all your other plugins except Visual composer, and clear the cache installed, to rule this out as a cause. It is also good to have backups in case something unexpected happens, just to be safe.

Thanks, there seems to be some conflict with some plugin. Now it’s working. But i have a few more issues.
I dont see the logo nor the featured posts.
Also the various pages like about are not working. I saw that they don’t work. Is there a way that these use the normal responsive site but for homepage,posts,category pages the mobile theme is used? Newspaper really makes the website very slow and sluggish and i have seen my bounce rate increase after changing to this theme.

Hi, I’ve customized my social urls to have only Facebook:
While on homepage the hamburger menu is ok, on the post pages it still shows the 3 social icons with # as URL:
On the mobile theme is ok. So
– Home is OK
– Mobile theme is OK
– Post Page on Desktop is WRONG
Also the footer is in sync in the hamburger, so it’s broken on the post page as well. It seems that the post page is ignoring the settings and always displaying the 3 links = “#”
I’m using version 7.8
For some reason the Big Grid 1 is not displaying properly on my homepage when I choose the Featured Category.
When I choose any other category it displays fine, but as soon as I choose featured it seems to just show a default 4 across layout?

Most probably you are using adblock and you can’t see all the ads.

Sorry but the more tag will not work with our theme except for module 15 on category pages or the list of your latest posts on the homepage. The more tag will be ignored on the post itself.

Any widget added in a sidebar will appear only where that sidebar is used. Add the widget to the sidebar you want and use that on the homepage.
When there is a background set, that is the way the background appears on the row in the page container. If the website would not be boxed it would stretch to full width. You could use some css in this case like in this example – https://www.screencast.com/t/8cYjTfO39zez or add a custom class to that row and use that in the code.
Please make sure to enter the code in Advanced Css so it does not affect smaller devices.

Hi, i’ve strange issue with visual composer on homepage:
I’m make my custom homepage with visual composer for desktop view and i hide some block only for mobile where a special block with infinite loop is used… It’s all ok in firefox and edge but when i try to view via google seach console or google chrome from desktop, i’ve see only mobile block…
