Hi,
From the day one, we are trying to setup our website https://firstnews.pk the way it is shown in the demo, we’ve always failed. Plus the fact that we want to show multiple ads on our website which includes videos ads, banners, in article ads, bottoms and lot others. We dont know how to do that. The next step which confuses us is Mobile Version or AMP? How many thumbnail (featured image) sizes we need to active. Also that, how to improve the website speed? What are the standard image sizes that we need to use? Do we need to compress all the images before we put into an article or should we use a plugin to compress images. How to create sitemap for Google News? These are all the issues which are very challenging for us. We would request you to kindly fix all of these issues for us and we are willing to pay a small amount that you may wish to charge. Please help us as our business is at risk. You may reply us at business@informationprocess.com or faysalyaqoob@gmail.com, we will appreciate your response back.

Thank you and best regards,
Faisal Yaqoob

Hello,

Please make sure that you have activated the proper thumbs for the mobile theme. The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.
This can be found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also, please try to regenerate your thumbs => https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/ and clear your cache on the website/server.

Thank you!

TagDiv Composer just isn’t saving options in the Thumb section.

I’m going to call it a bug and not use the prebuilt theme.

As a suggestion, tagdiv composer should recognize a prebuilt theme and set all of the proper image options. I shouldn’t have to manually go in and try to save.

After all, when AMP is installed then all the proper image sizes are enabled in that same block settings area and they are enabled by default.

FWIW, in the options table, td_011_settings has the options for the thumbnail sizes.

Just a suggestion. But I’m done for now. It’s too frustrating. TagDiv Composer isn’t ready for usage. Worse, I’m stuck now because I upgraded to 11.4 and feel stupid not to have verified such an important task.

OK. I’ve ranted enough. Have a good day.

After upgrading to 11.4, I can no longer add additional size options for thumbnail sizes. I turn them on in the theme panel (slide to blue), save, regenerate thumbnails, come back and the new size options are off.

I’ve tried this on two different development servers and a live server. Nothing allows me to enable new image thumbnail sizes.

Bettina,

Thanks for the response.

I do use the TagDiv composer for the header. The Discover Muscatine header is selected in the Theme Panel > Header > Cloud Library Template.

When I edit the header in Cloud Templates, the logo image and logo retina image correct. Show image is set to show, show text and tagline are set to hide.

It only happens on posts, not pages. On pages, it displays the header correctly. It also displays them correctly on category archive pages.

When I go into the cloud template area, it shows a template for single posts assigned to all posts. It also shows a mobile version of that same template. The main template shows it correctly on all four screen sizes.

*** Found problem as typing this — Had to go in and convert the header content on the post template and assigned the converted header to the cloud template ***

Unfortunately, still facing the same issue.
What I did:
– Checked, that thumbs of proper sizes are active in theme panel, block settings. Yes, they are. See screenshot. https://snipboard.io/VgPZLR.jpg
– Regenerated thumbs of all featured images to be sure that they are properly generated.

According to another screenshot from page speed check it seems that even though data source is defined in code file with different dimensions is served. https://snipboard.io/jw5eOH.jpg

Unfortunately, I don’t know where to continue with the investigation. Any advice? Thanks a lot in advance.

Does the svg code need any file uploaded or stored somewhere it acesses it or does it create it.

Does the same svg code place the image in multiple places and allow it to show as different sizes- like header / header when scrolled/ footer etc

Hello, I know that in order to show thumbnails on mobile website when using Tagdiv Mobile Plugin, I need to enable the two thumbnails sizes in ‘Theme Panel –> Block Settings –> Thumbs on Modules/Blocks’

However, I want to avoid it because every image uploaded on the website will have two more thumbnail versions of it created, and thus eat up space (in ‘uploads’ folder) on the server.

Is there a way in which the Mobile Theme can use the default uploaded image or the ‘300×0’ sized image, and resize those using css to show the required thumbnails?

Hi. First post.

I recently migrated my WP site to a new domain and new hosting. I used Migrate Guru and everything went well. Everything except featured videos.

On my current live site, this is how pages are rendered with a featured video:
https://snipboard.io/KDUkXE.jpg
This is how the exact same post renders on my new staging site:
https://snipboard.io/768wbA.jpg

The staging site does not have the same level of responsiveness either. The video just remains the same size as the page resizes. This does not repro on pages with Featured Images, these pages function exactly as intended.

Examining in Chrome developer tools, the CSS seems to be the same. There are no differences in the codebase that I’m aware of. The staging site does have the SeedProd plugin which I’m using for a Coming Soon page, but the bug is persistent when I deactivate the plugin.

I am using the standard Style 9 post template. Switching to a different template doesn’t fix the problem. Downloading a Cloud Template with featured videos does not resolve the problem. I feel like a critical part of the plugin code or a file is missing regarding the featured video. I do not know where to check for this.

The live site is running PHP 7.0.33 (-0ubuntu0.16.04.16)
The staging site is running PHP 7.4.25
Both sites are running Newspaper 11.3.1
Both sites are running WP 5.8.1

Hello!

The differences between BG featured image and single post featured image:
– the description (capture) will not appear in BG
– the image size you can set only in BG, so in a single post featured image will take the image in original sizes
– more options for styling in a single post featured image than BG

Please try to deactivate the lazy load: https://forum.tagdiv.com/loading-image-effects/ and see the results!

Thank you!

Thanks Bettina for your reply. The workarround does not work with the tempalte, because it resizes the Single Post Featured Image automaticly. Besides that, we have about 20.000 news articles online right now, all with a featured image, so that would be a challenge.

Is it possible to set the element Page Title as an inline element(?) on top off the Single Post Featured Image (we then can set the font colour to white). That would solve part of the issue, because now we have to put the page title of a single post above or below the featured image, wich is valuable space on a screen as you can inmagin.

The resize would be nice if that could be done in template custom css ofcourse. Any hint for both issues would be appreciated Bettina.

Hi,

How do I make the image for our advert under the slider (Arcadis) more responsive? Currently, when adjusting for different screen sizes, there is a blank space under the image. Can you help change this so the content under the image automatically adjusts to fall straight under the advert without an empty white space?

Hello!

We can take a look to see what is wrong there with the Newsletter. Please double check the embed code before, then make a full backup, send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin, so we can investigate this issue. Also paste a link to this topic so we can easily identify you.

Please make sure that you have enabled the proper thumbs with these sizes in order to show the featured images properly, check this: https://www.screencast.com/t/N18dR3qZrh
After activating the thumbnail sizes you need to regenerate your thumbnails using a plugin. Check this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

It seems that you use the Mobile theme plugin. Let me explain you which options of mobile versions are:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

Now, you can use which one is more suitable for your needs.

If you need a responsive version or mobile pages, then please deactivate the Mobile theme plugin and see the results!

Normally the code needs to be set in Newspaper -> Theme Panel -> Analytics JS in Head section: https://www.screencast.com/t/RU8q3h0dZ and the code will be set in the head of your website, after that, you should be able to see the analytics results on your google analytics account. If you can not handle to achieve this, then please specify in the email this issue too and we will have a look and help you efficiently.

Thank you!

Please note that we have some standard elements, already customized which you can not customize it, the same as default template. And also, some elements which have a lot of settings with what you can customize it, the same as cloud template which can be edited with the TagDiv Composer plugin. Hi Team,

Could you please let me know what should be the sizes of images in the Product Template – Makup Shop? I don’t know where to find this information and currently my products don’t look good. I need to adjust them so that they would fit, but I am not sure what the image dimensions should be?

I’ve read through a lot of threads regarding blurry images, the image looks fine in the post itself but in the various thumbnail sizes on the home page they look blurry, I’ve set them to use full size, they look fine when viewed on my phone.

So I tried different browsers and found the images look fine in firefox and terrible in edge and chrome, is there a way to fix this issue??

I found a post on a WordPress forum where he used this css code

img {
image-rendering: -webkit-optimize-contrast;
}

would that help fix the issue and if so where should i put that code??

Thanks in advance
