I tried everything but there is no featured image. see here link to image
So when i post something i make sure there is a featured image, but when i see the article on the home page it does only show a title and no image.
Also when i insert an image in a post it does not show a image.
Just downloaded this theme and installed, disabled all plugins wich i didnt need for the theme but still same error.
Also, the lookingglass (search) does not come up, you cant click it, and the login/register on top doesnt do anything aswell.
Do i need additional plugins for this theme or something? i followed every step in the documentation.

The cover image features for the posts on the newspaper theme is not working, only a select few. Post Styles 6,7, and 8 do not work. The image either doesn’t show or only shows half of the image. What can I do to fix this?
We recently had to reinstall our plugins as well, don’t know if that is what is causing the problem. If so, what plugins are needed to make sure that feature work?
Please advise as soon as possible.

I’m using Newspaper 7 (black version), with Buddy Press and bbPress. My aim is for most users to be limited to the bbPress / BudyPress functionality without access to the WP Dashboard. However, I do need some users to moderate the bbPress forums, and a small group of users who are bloggers for the news component of the site.
When users login, they get two top menus (the native wordpress menu and the theme top menue.)
Additionaly, authenticated users gain access to the native wordpress dashboard, when I ultimately want to limit some users (most of them) to posting in the forum and manageing their BudyPress profile.
To counteract this, I installed “WP Admin No Show” plugin (as was suggested on one of the forums here–I think) which worked great in removing the native WP menu bar altogether…with one exception: Users also lacked access to the Buddy Press menu and thus couldn’t edit their profiles, check notifications, and so forth.
So I uninstalled the plugin. Following the uninstall, the double top menu became a perminant feature of the site regardless of whether a user was logged in or not.
Is this a setting somewhere that I’m unaware of? Perhaps it is a reaction to Buddy or bbPress? Possibly an issue with WP Admin No Show plugin? This is a fresh install, so the issue should seemingly only reside in these few components.

Well, again, reading the basic documentation for WordPress in the codex at WordPress.org good place to start if you’re still confused about posts, pages, custom post types, menus, excerpts, content, post title, etc. — are all part of *all* WordPress sites and not theme specific.
WordPress is a publishing platform, and the theme is a “style/design and added functions” platform sitting on top of that.
meaning, headers, menus, posts, titles, sidebars, widgets, footers — are all normal elements of WordPress.
So, starting there perhaps with a default WP theme that comes with WP to “learn” how WP works would be good starting point. THEN, graduate to a complex theme like this.
Meaning, if you don’t know what a post title is, then you won’t understand what the settings do for the post title.
Just food for thought. 🙂
There is a learning curve. But often theme developers can’t take the time to teach people the basics. And making videos and screen shots is tricky — beyond the ones they have already done to explain the theme workings — since things DO change and so complex videos can become obsolete quickly, vs “how to install a dishwasher” tutorials.

Check your plugins area to see if Visual Composer is installed and active.
Check it’s settings to see if the plugin is activ for Administrators on pages – http://screencast.com/t/33n3OL3W
If this doesn’t help, try to disable all plugins, keep only Visual Composer active and see if it works.
If it does then you may have a plugin conflict, enable the rest of the plugins one by one to see which one causes this issue.

I’m referring to Theme Switch button on the fly. Wherein if I press a button, I’ll be able to switch theme example. What is installed is black, then I want to switch to Default or other demo theme.
What I’m thinking is to understand how is Install button at demo works? So I’ll be able to know what files are needed to be replaced or remove on click.

After installung WP Super Cache like your docu and setting, I get the Content-Encoding failure (if I not logged in).
My hosting company told me, that everything are correct from his perspectiv and they support Super Cache. But the problem is still there.

If your css is stored in Theme Panel -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS, it won’t be lost.
No settings made in Theme Panel or on Posts, Pages, etc. won’t be lost.
The update rewrites the theme files and only the custom modifications made on the theme files will be affected. If you didn’t made any modifications on the theme files, you don’t have to worry.
If you find it hard to update via ftp, there’s an easier method:
– From wp-admin Appearance, just switch the theme to Twenty Sixteen (or any other theme you may have) – http://screencast.com/t/pUsPQIhxy

The mobile theme is an optional plugin and it can be reinstalled.
Maybe it was an older version of the plugin and this caused the error.

Even if you remove the padding it is not easy to implement a fully working full width slider, because it means a lot of work and implies modifying a lot more elements including responsiveness. You should try to find a solution that you like using the themes variety of templates and styles and if necessary, using minimal modifications to the default elements.
To answer your second question, the Envato policy allows using a theme only on one install, for a single end product(website) – https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard You can use the theme for testing purposes on sub-domains of your site but only under the condition that it’s part of the same project. If you change your domain you simply have to delete the theme from the previous one and install and activate it in the new one.

Please keep in mind that effect is not controlled by our theme, sorry! I suppose that it is just a Chrome issue. Try to uninstall and then reinstall the Google Chrome browser and check the results. Try to find some useful online solution in this regard. Also, you can try to uninstall Guarded ID-security software from Comcast. I don’t have any color or image as a background, I selected “Full Width” on the Slider’s settings, I stretched the rows through Visual Composer and still looks boxed. Am I missing something?”
So, the background color was cleared since the very beginning…
Anyway, I downloaded the theme again, made a clean installation and suddenly started working. I have no idea what the problem was, but with the new install started working.
I would have been more than happy to send you a link to the website but I’m working locally.
Now, that the full width issue is solved, I would like to ask you about moving the Rev Slider behind the menu, here’s my original question from the first post “Finally, I noticed that another customer asked about css code that allows the nav menu to be transparent and placed over the image slider? If it can be done without messing too much with the theme and affecting the responsiveness I will be really appreciated.”
One last thing, please release the Rev Slider update, after what happened with the famous exploit (because of that I lost a couple of websites I was working on and my computer was seriously damaged), I’m extremely careful with that plugin.

Please keep in mind that the theme is fully tested and compatible with Visual Composer 5.0.1 which come bundled with the latest version of the theme which is Newsmag 3.3. If you are suing some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch or create a new sub-domain only with the required plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. For them updating, use the FTP method because this is the surest and safe way in this regard.
