Thanks! That does help. If you view the source on the page you posted you will see that it contains <aside> tags. I believe those reside in the functions.php file.
However if you view the source of your demo located at http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/strong-growth-and-engagement-across-our-community/ it is missing those aside tags. My site is also missing those <aside> tags. I wonder if this is the issue?
The plugin developer states that before widget should contain <li id=”%1$s”> I would imagine it could also be ID’ed in the aside tag as well. I tried doing a complete clean install. WordPress 3.7.1 then the theme, and then the plugin, and it does not work. I will keep poking around and see if anything jumps out. If you notice anything let me know!
Thank you!
Hello,
You have some mobile plugin installed. I’m almost sure that is from Jetpack -> Mobile Theme, please deactivate it. http://screencast.com/t/TA8z81yA93
Thanks for your message!
I’ve installed the plugin, and adjusted settings of the plugin to various variations and it just doesn’t work. Once I “View Source” I don’t even see the <li> tags in the source code even though they are defined in the functions.php
I have tried disabling all other plugins and only running the theme, no luck. Do you have a URL where it is installed and working with this theme? I’m curious to see the markup that it’s outputting.
Hi,
I chose to use the “One click demo install” on my website, and chose this version, as I couldn’t find the way to get this appearance via the Visual Composer (it was ok for the big slide, but I couldn’t find the way to get the blocks organized in the category “Don’t Miss” on the exemple I showed you).
How to “manually” build such a homepage ? I also would like to know how to display different categories on the homepage, like in your exemple (i mean, for instance, how to select other articles in “Dont’ miss” ? Rather than the latest articles, which appear also in this line…).
And my last question is : is it possible to choose not to display every article on the big slide ?? As soon as I add an article, its pic appears on the big slide, wihch is not always what I want !
Thanx four your answer !!
You talked on the forum/email with Marius and it was pointed out to me that you requested a lot of things / modifications. From my first look I believed that you want those thing made to work with your plugin. Also the messages before that requested modifications that would have been incompatible with our existing install base.
Regarding your message here:

1. in general they are good suggestions but I can’t promise you that we will do the.
2. the scroll script is custom made by us. It’s much better than other themes, one of the only ones that listens to mouse scroll and touch to stop the scrolling when you want. I don’t know if it’s possible to use it on comment too but we will try it out.
3. that is difficult to make (to work on all the the different hosting environments that our clients have)
4. this is a bug, will be fixed asap
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/featured-video-and-dailymotion/#post-1915
1. Child themes are partially supported. You can override the css and the template files. You can’t override our code.
2. A lot of the themes don’t use the core wordpress functions for seo reasons and customization.
3. It’s still on our todo list.
4. that is a custom request. We will not do that.
5. “just need you to make a few switches in the theme options” our theme would have been a giant spaghetti code if we would have done that with all of the suggestions / customization requests from our clients.
Please know that we have to reply to over 50-60 request per day (email tf and here). We try our best to help all the people but when it comes to feature request/custom work we have to pick carefully what gets included in the theme and what not. We also have to set priorities – daily motion integration is not a top priority issue – I already tryed some time before to integrate it (you can still see old code in our file /includes/class/td_video_support.php) and it was not working very well due to the small thumbnails served by them (not useable on any of our sliders and form what I can remember smaller than our thumbs as well).
I do think that the single page and a lot of the templates can be improved… I realized that after seeing your problem with our theme some time ago.
In general once people are abusing our support system we don’t reply anymore since we are not obligated to but I do believe that you came here with good intentions and if it wasnt for the miscommunication with my colleague we would have started off with a much friendlier vibe 😐 . Please accept my apologies and if you want we can start all over again.
I am going to sleep now, it’s 1.07 AM here

Hello,
I’ve installed the Facebook Comment plugin and default is here: http://screencast.com/t/ZeGHVQzHY3
If this is not ok can be added manually with shortcode in td_module_1.php file where you want http://screencast.com/t/pgH7p6LpT8 using like:
&buffy .= ....add facebook here...
Thanks
hello,
you are saying that you are running the “Same hosting, same pages, same plugins, same posts, same videos, same images”
let me tell you that http://hdslr.com.br/ makes 70 request insted of 34 http://screencast.com/t/zjhZFxibvV8 . A lot of them are not even files from the newspaper theme. At least some of them like those are taking 4 seconds to load in total: http://screencast.com/t/jQuXfvdRFh . The files in question are form a plugin called form maker that is not present on your other site.
Make sure that you really have the same plugins installed when you compare versions. Marius already pointed out that you have some additional plugins on the slow one.
Hello,
Please open that post and see what image size you have as featured image.
To check if you have GD library installed follow the steps from here: http://www.websitecamp.com/check-php-gd-library-installed-or-not
also check if you have appropriate permission on the UPLOAD folder
Thanks
1. My favicon has uploaded but does not appear
2. I would like a bigger option for a logo (which takes over the entire ad space on the right side)
3. I installed the Demo and I then set up my custom homepage to look like the demo but when I enter my websites name .com, I only see the demo and not my posts and all other featured why?
4. I just uploaded the theme do I have to manually upload any updates on filezilla? Where do I see the updates?
5. I uninstalled the entire theme and am totally confused as to how to get the theme looking like I want…
I am frustrated since I spent two hours getting the theme to look how I want and then in the end I had two different layouts, how I made it and the demo…
I really need some help with this since I read all the instructions and followed them, I am not sure why this is happening at all
Hi guys,
I’m using your theme on another install and am having some layout issues on the category modules. When I select any module type for the category, the latest item/top post is shifting over to right by about 100px. Not sure why.
I can provide login details if that will help…currently the site is behind a coming soon plugin.
thanks

Hello,
Just install a Facebook comments plugin and deactivate the default comment system.
Hello,
the 745×483 image should work well on the slider and it should also be cut for the posts. If you have a dedicated server or vps … please make sure you have the gd library installed and appropriate permissions. It looks like wordpress can’t cut the images.
Theme updates, you mean?
This wave is the Icon of the Visual Composer..
I just bought the theme and installed the patch that comes with it. (v1.7.1)
Seems like the ajax doesn’t work properly and WP is not recording my changes… 🙁
I just installed your theme on my website: http://www.enterao.com, and I have a serious problem, the website is constantly put in blank, for a long time. Need urgent help with this, because I’m losing customers and money.
I read here on the support page I had to change several parameters and so I did, I changed:
memory_limit = 256MB
post_max_size = 256MB
php upload_max_filesize = 256MB
Thank you very much
Regards,
UPDATE:
1) the issue of the ?rel=author in footer is no longer an issue, and Google does now prefer to just use the meta tag in the HTML head:
<link rel="author" href="https://plus.google.com/+ChristopherSimmons/posts"/>
<link rel="publisher" href="https://plus.google.com/+NeotropeNet/posts"/>
* technically you should only be adding that element at bottom if an SEO plugin not running; however we can easily comment it out in the theme functions.php file
2) I have put in a bug track on github (Issue #372) for the Yoast SEO plugin to perhaps create an additional field, perhaps Yoast Twitter ID to be able to properly embed @USERID in head, but retain full twitter URL for use on page for author box, etc.
IDEALLY: we should be able to somehow for the moment turn off the option in author box to pull the @USERID twitter ID as it’s more critical to include the correctly parsed @USERID for the twitter card for the article author, than have link in author box for twitter. Unfortunately, if left alone, we end up with a bad link of:
/site/story-permalink/@USERID … in the author boxes, which will end up generating bad not found errors for Google, which is also really bad.
*POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS* right now
(1) turn off the twitter field link for the author box in theme (I cannot locate this in the snippets)
(2) turn off *all* links at bottom of twitter box temporarily as stop gap fix; better than nothing
(3) add/register new user account data field to functions called “Twitter URL” to add to user data meta for the full twitter.com account URL – and then call this in the theme vs “twitter” field? — for the moment we’d prefer this option, if you folks have your usual nifty arrow-screens on how to do that. This way your theme will work with the huge installed base of YOAST SEO (and possibly others who follow same method of putting @USERID in the twitter field, vs the full URL).
Option #3 would be awesome, in my opinion.
For those interested in what I sent to the Joost and the Yoast team via Github bug track:
REF: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/conflict-with-user-account-twitter-data-in-themes
HI, Joost and co…
ran into one issue with Yoast and several theme devs lately.
Specifically, under each user account setup, the field for Twitter is now common to Yoast and many themes, and themes use the field to put twitter link in things like an author box.
Problem is that Yoast SEO looks for simply @NAME from the user > twitter field to print in the META.
So, this ends up doing this:
<meta name=”twitter:creator” content=”@https://twitter.com/USER”/>
however, if we put just @USER in the twitter field, we would see this in themes under things like author box
LIKELY BEST FIX would be to come up with a new field the user account setup, like Yoast Twitter ID vs simply Twitter.
That way we could have:
Yoast Twitter ID = @USER
Twitter = https://twitter.com/USER
Since the field “twitter” is now a standard in most themes, if not WP, then it seems more logical for Yoast to either filter out the URL when it’s there to just print the @USER .. or setup alternate field for the non URL version of code.
Hi, I didn’t install this plugin… so that can not the the problem 🙂
Hi,
i want to change the color of form fiels borders, in:
\external\bootstrap-master\less\variables.less
// Forms
@inputBorder: #000000;
But the borders don’t change. The others change in .less files don’t work (no speed booster install)
Thanks for your help
Ive solved it with uninstall my IE11 and install IE10. Must have been some strange cache-incident for the microsoft-product. But maybe good to know for others webmasters and TagDiv.
CONFIRMING: Newspaper theme works just fine on our install of WP 3.7.1 out today.
🙂
Hi guys,
just updated to 1.7.1 and got this error message when reinstalling the social counter plugin.
Warning: Missing argument 3 for wpseo_upgrader_process_complete() in /home/travart/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/wpseo-non-ajax-functions.php on line 259
Was having issues with this before with it not displaying or linking properly to my social accounts properly.
Thoughts?

Update: it seems G+ doesn’t work too, only Twitter of the 3. I’ve tried reinstalling the plugin, deleting the old plugin and installing anew..nothing worked.
Yes manually installing the plugins from Newspaper/includes/plugins will solve most issues with the auto installer.
Hi guys,
I really like this theme, I’m trying to activate it on http://www.weeklypodcast.net but not having any luck. The whole site comes up blank when I activate it. I have tried uninstalling and installing again manually via ftp but still not working.
Any help will be appreciated. thanks!
@arneg ..
not sure if this will help you:
It’s included in the /theme/includes/plugins/revslider.zip
this is one of the items the theme asks you to install when you first set it up.
So, if the auto-install doesn’t work, you could unzip that and then upload manually via FTP, presumably to the /wp-content/plugins/
Chris
Hi, I can not seem to find where to download/install it.
Auto-install doesn’t work on my host, so that’s not an option, and it’s not included in the ZIP..
Thanks
