@k2point0 You need Visial composer plugin installed and active. Then edit your home page in backend editor + clic on add new element + you have 8 diferents big grids + 1 grid slide.

I’ve also had the same behaviour confirmed by someone on another device now.

The screenshot you posted shows that the CSS names Open Sans for the font-family. I agree, the CSS is being generated correctly. But the question is whether the browser can actually find and display that font.

Yours might be displaying it because you have it installed on your device. I’m not confident that that’s how it works, but that has factored into other weird font behaviours in the past.

Can you show me whether your browsers are downloading the Open Sans CSS file and hence fonts from fonts.googleapis.com, as in my first screenshot?

I am just another user of theme but I checked your link to website and you have admin all over the website. You should never have admin account on your website. That needs to be changed as soon as possible. It is an easy way for someone to access because that is the default account when installing WordPress. You need to have your own username and not admin. Strong password too. If your site is being hacked it is because of admin username.

Another best thing to do if you are giving Tagdiv access to your site. Make a temporary username and password with administrator rights and then delete it after they fixed what ever you want them to fix. This way no one can access it. Admin username is what hackers use to get in. Hope that helps.

Yes, that is what it was. I had the api plugin installed but that block was there and when I removed the plugin it was gone. I did not need the api plugin because I am not going to be creating new blocks. I tried the creating stuff with Visual Composer builder and thought it was confusing to me. So I am sticking with just what you guys offer in the updates. I like new features to play with but if I have to spend hours off and on to figure out something, to me it is a lot of time consuming. So I gave up on it.

What I was thinking of doing with the builder was creating a carousel for posts that shows like 4 images of posts and has left and right arrows and every certain time limit it rotates to the left every 4 of the images if you set like 8, 12 and up images and just continues rotating. Nothing in Visual Composer or in theme has that. The carousel in theme is just posts with excerpt and read more button and I don’t want that kind of carousel.

I am going to not worry about this either. Thanks anyways.

I am another “Frank” but I am experiencing similar problems.

I had VC (full license) installed at my site prior to purchasing Newspaper 6.

We have installed according to the manual (https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/)

We tried several times.

We are constantly having a persistant error message in our dashboard (“Important notice: You have an outdated version of Visual Composer Design Options. It is required to review and save it.”) that we can not get rid of and we are lacking a good number of elements (http://screencast.com/t/B2ExxHCzXQye) from VC. We are missig everything in that screensho after “Masonry Media Grid” (see here: abload.de/img/vctes4b.jpg )

We also tried turning everything off and on again – didn’t help.

For us Visual Composer is only offering the same four Dashboard-options as Frank showed in his screenshot above.

Any ideas?

By pure randum luck while reactivating plugins I hit (in dashboard) “Visual Composer” -> “Settings” and in there by a stroke of sheer luck I accidentaly clicked “user group access rights” -> “Administrator” and guess what? Almost all Newspaper-related items were disabled…

For the persistant Error-Message: that one is still there.

I strpngly suggest adding this to the knowledge-base to check there

likely somebody trying to access your theme folder directly which nobody should ever do unless trying to hack you; and sometimes you will see this from doing install or update to theme where temporarily while files are being moved around if Google pings your site they would end up following a temp redirect. You will then see this as a “one time” thing. Simply mark as fixed, and move on 🙂

Looks like you didn’t install theme properly.

Best to extract the single zip file for the theme on your PC/Mac, then upload via FTP to your wp-content/themes/ folder — don’t upload the newspaper-tf folder, only the newspaper theme folder alone. You also need to install the visual composer plugin from the /plugins/ folder with the theme (easiest to do from the larger ‘all files’ newspaper-tf folder, then unzip the js-composer folder then upload via ftp to /wp-content/plugins/ in your WordPress install.

Don’t use the Envato toolkit is as it doesn’t work well with all hosting setups, and can set wrong folder location, wrong permissions, and doesn’t install the plugins for you.
