Hi,

In this particular case (updating to 9.7) it would be best to try and update by FTP
https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
There were modifications made to theme files location, so it would be best to delete the old theme and upload the new one manually. Also try and increase the wp-memory, if possible to 256M, this could also be the cause of the problem
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/
As well, check what is mentioned at point 2 in the guide. Entering that code in the htaccess could also solve it.

If nothing works, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

Hi,

In most cases, that problem happens due to the fact that system status is not set correctly. Most likely, your PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything. Please check your system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thank you!

Hi, I just noticed the WP Memory setting for my website is not set to the recommended.
https://prnt.sc/njd983

I checked the following links
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP for a guide to do it.

Unfortunately, it isn’t really helpful for me as I have no experience dealing with root directory and I am very unsure of how to update the wp_config.php file. I am worried that I might mess up my whole site.

Would you be able to provide a clearer picture of how I can update the WP Memory limit parameter? Am I required to go into CPanel? Any possible way to do it in the WordPress ecosystem itself?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi there

I keep getting 521 error on cloud flare on http://danielfooddiary.com, the host say

“Based on our findings, we could see that you have recently updated/installed the following plugin which caused the issue and the Apache service was being killed by the operating system’s self-protection mechanism to keep its critical services running when the server is running low on memory.

td-social-counter
td-cloud-library
td-composer
td-newsletter

In order to resolve this issue and keep the http://danielfooddiary.com/ site online, we have renamed the following plugin folders as follows;

/home/danielfo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer_bak
/home/danielfo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-newsletter_bak

We suggest you uninstall/deactivate the plugin from the WordPress dashboard to keep your site stable. Also, we highly advise you to seek advice from your web developers for a timely and accurate resolution to the issue.”

IS there anyway to remedy the solution?

Hi,

Should be no problem if you follow the guide – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Also, the most reliable method to update the theme is by FTP -https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/

In some cases 500 errors were caused by insufficient memory, we recommend a value of 256M if possible. Try increasing it or contact the hosting provider and provide them with this guide – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/

If you already tried this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide FTP or cPanel as well as admin login. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.

Thanks.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi,

The first thing to check is the theme requirements guide – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
If the theme panel works but works slowly could be caused by insufficient resources, like wp-memory.
If the theme panel doesn’t work at all and keeps hanging, you could try the other suggestions from this topic as well – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/problem-with-newspaper-theme/

If you already checked these and the problem remains, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login. Also mention how we can see the problem or any relevant details about it. Let us know.

Thanks

Hi,

I suggest that you check the theme system status to begin with, insufficient resources can cause various issues – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/

If needed increase the wp-memory and other parameters mentioned there. Also check the PHP version, should be 7, 7.1 or 7.2. The hosting provider should be able to help with this.

Let us know if the problem remains.
Thanks

Hi,

There are a few things you could check. First please follow the theme requirements guide carefully – https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/
In some cases the wp-memory is exhausted because it is set too low, so when activating plugins there may be such a problem like the one you are describing. We recommend a value of 256M if possible, try to increase it or ask the hosting provider to do it for you. Check the other parameters from the guide as well.

We also recommend that you use PHP versions 7, 7.1 or 7.2 if possible, using old PHP versions can create problems.

In case the issue remains we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel will be helpful. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Let us know.
Thanks

Hi,

If you get a 500 error this is usually caused by poor memory allocation or file permission issues. Please use this guide to increase your wp and php memory: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and use this guide to properly set up the file permissions:https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-fix-file-and-folder-permissions-error-in-wordpress/

Thank you!
