Hi,
I am having a problem with the mobile hamburger not being available on first page load.
It is not selectable when the homepage loads but will become available when the page is refreshed or by navigating to another page.
Website: https://hrheadquarters.ie
Affects iPhone Chrome and Safari.
Wordpress 6.8.3
Newspaper Theme 12.7.3
AMP is enabled for the site.
Caching: WPMUDev Hummingbird and Super Page Cache. Cloudflare is integrated
Thanks,
Mick
Hi,
I am using the default Theme Header (no Cloud Template assigned), but in:
Theme Panel → Header → Mobile Header
there is no option to change the mobile header background color.
The mobile header is stuck as black, and:
The panel does not show a background color picker
Custom CSS does not override the black background
It seems like my installation is using a header style without mobile color controls, or the CSS is hard-coded and overriding everything.
Can you please tell me:
How to change the mobile header background color (I need it to be #1e40b0)
Whether my header style should have a color option
Which selector controls the mobile header background in my version
Whether this is a bug in the Newspaper header system
Thank you.
Hi,
To use the responsive version, just make sure that you do not have the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin (or/amp amp plugin). After this is checked and confirmed, this plugin is not used, or in case it is, it is disabled and deleted. Please check if you have made any mobile pages https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ if you have mobile pages make sure those are not assigned on pages and cloud templates (for templates, is simple, you can see it in cloud templates if there are any mobile templates – https://i.imgur.com/mgvfs0y.png )
After that, just learn all the ache, the responsive version will be used.
The newspaper theme has three available solutions for the mobile version:
1. Responsive Desktop Version – The default responsive layout that adjusts to mobile screens using tagDiv Composer – https://i.imgur.com/apZQZ0o.png
2. Mobile Page/Template – A custom mobile layout that can be created using the tagDiv Composer.
3. tagDiv Mobile Theme Plugin – A separate mobile theme that provides a dedicated mobile experience but is limited in edits and changes.
Hi,
I’m glad you managed to resolve it.
If you want to adjust the fonts, you can use the theme panel settings > theme fonts > mobile menu – https://i.imgur.com/q5KDEjO.png for colors, check the theme panel section Theme Colors > Mobile menu – https://i.imgur.com/00wevS7.png if you want, you can also set a background image – https://i.imgur.com/0wq8IBd.png
I hope this will help you!
Thank you for your reply.
I have been testing simultaneously while waiting for your answer. I deactivated the previously used plugins one by one and then re-enabled the “Show Mobile Menu” feature under Theme panel – Mobile header.
The Mobile Menu feature is now working properly. I’m not sure if my procedure was correct, but it is functional.
However, I would also like to ask how I can set its appearance, such as the font size or the background color, as I cannot find the settings location for these options.
I followed the instructions on creating mobile versions. Now that those are in place, how do I remove them and use the responsive theme version of Today News? Without getting a different header on every device?

Hi Calin,
Thank you for your reply. I haven’t set up the tagDiv Mobile theme yet, so I have temporarily deactivated it.
Hi,
This situation appears when the plugin tagDiv Mobile theme is installed, which will overwrite the responsive version of the website. My recommendation is to disable and delete the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin, clear the cache and check the results, the website will display the responsive version.
Thank you!
Hi,
The layout from your second image usually appears when the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin is used. I recommend disabling the plugin and using the responsive version.
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with my website where the desktop version displays correctly, but the mobile version is completely broken and does not load the theme properly.
Here’s what I’ve already done to try to fix the problem:
Removed AMP completely.
Cleared all cache (plugin cache, hosting/server cache, and browser cache).
Regenerated permalinks.
Cleared the Newspaper theme cache.
Despite this, the mobile version still does not display the normal responsive theme layout. My goal is for the site to load the same Newspaper theme design on both desktop and mobile (standard responsive version), without using AMP.
Could you please check what is causing the mobile view to break and help me resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
I am experiencing a strange issue that I am struggling to fix. I have created a custom template for one of my categories. On the page, I have two rows. The first is full-width, the second is split into two 50% width columns. Each section uses the inline text element. I have used the extra class on the row and two columns to allow for a scroll to navigation.
The top row has a background image with white text. The row below with the two columns has a normal white background with black text. The page looks perfect on desktop, but when viewed on mobile, the two columns below seem to inherit the white text from the row above. The title element for the sections is also a completely different format on mobile to the other titles. Narrowing the browser to mimic mobile still works as intended.
I have viewed on iOS and Android. Tested on Chrome and Safari and it is broken on both.
The page in question is https://baitingtheswim.co.uk/category/fishing-competitions/fishomania/ The sections are FishOMania 2025 Qualifier Dates, Previous FishOMania Winners and About FIshOMania. The last two are the ones that break on mobile.
Any idea why this is happening. I have tried to force black text in the composer, deleted the whole row with two columns and create again. It just doesn’t seem to work.
The only way I have managed to force black text is by adding custom CSS in theme panel, but that changes the titles and link colours in those sections even though I haven’t specified to touch links or header elements.
Hi,
Do you use the responsive theme version? https://i.imgur.com/xx9VO9X.png – https://i.imgur.com/dsBxxBL.png If so, then the elements added on the desktop will also be displayed on mobile.
Now in case you created a mobile page, then when you edit the desktop version the mobile page will not be updated since it is a different page.
If you want to have the same layout, just use the responsive version, no mobile page or mobile theme plugin.
For some reason, when editing the “Today news” theme, sections will not show consistently for mobile device. I can add sections to the regular and mobile themes, and those sections simply will not show on an actual mobile device, even though it shows in a browser when switching between desktop, mobile and tablet.
When activate tagdiv mobile theme (plugin) – mobile theme don’t display on mobile.
Since working with wordpress 6.9
My header ad at HowNotToSail.com seems to be blocked on some browsers (it just shows a blue rectangle instead of the ad), even with very basic HTML code in the Theme Panel > Header Ad box, like:
<div class="td-all-devices">
<a href="https://example.com" target="_self" rel="noopener"><img src="https://example.com/Header-Ad.jpg" /></a>
</div>
How can I fix this? It’s not a mobile vs. desktop issue (it displays fine on some mobile devices), but I suspect there’s some code buried somewhere in the theme PHP regarding Google Adsense or something, which I don’t need, and which might be causing the issue?
Thanks!
Hi Levaire,
If you want a simple menu, you can just use the mobile menu option ( https://i.imgur.com/rmRwW7z.png ). In this case, there’s no need to create anything custom.
However, if you want a fully customized menu that looks exactly the way you prefer, then you can follow the method described above. This is only necessary if you need something special. For a simple setup, using the theme’s built-in header and mobile menu elements is the easiest solution.
Hi,
Please go to plugins and see if you have the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin installed (also look for the amp plugin). If you have them, please disable those plugins, clear the cache, and check again. The problem should be resolved.
Hi,
This situation usually occurs when you are using both the AMP and the mobile theme. My recommendation is to disable both plugins and use the theme’s responsive version instead, as there is no longer a need for an AMP version.
To do this, go to your website dashboard > Plugins, disable the AMP plugin, then clear all cache. This should resolve the issue.
Thank you!
Hi,
Using the mobile theme and AMP is no longer recommended as it once was.
Mobile theme and amp ar limited you can use only the theme panel options under mobile theme
Also, for pages you need to set manually the content in mobile editor, content that must be created using the mobile edito,r not other builders and not copy/past the page content in mobile editor
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Related to cache, when you are not using the responsive version, then you need to use a separate cache for the mobile version, otherwise the mobile version will be displayed on desktop and the desktop version on mobile.
Thank you!
Hello.
The desktop version of my website has one design (https://prnt.sc/I0uH7lf5lCr5 ) and maintains the same content when viewed on a mobile device (https://prnt.sc/nUXHeWgXwVo_ ). However, when I activate plugin TagDiv Mobile Theme + AMP version, a different design appears (https://prnt.sc/o3Te2FzoY6WM ). I found how to customize the colors and logos in Theme Panel, but I need to customize which content is displayed (not only styles). Is this possible? How and where do I do it?
Joseph
Hi,
You can use the tagDiv Mobile theme, but, if you choose to do it, then you need to use the theme panel settings for it, the responsive version will no longer be used and teh layout and content will be different.
You can check all that can be done using the mobile theme plugin from our documentation:
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
If you are referring to mobile version, please disable the td mobile theme plugin and use the responsive theme version, then you’ll be able to use tgaDiv Composer to edit the header version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-manager/
Thank you!
Hi,
Please disable the tagDiv Mobile theme and amp plugins, clear all cache, and check again; it should be displaying the responsive version.
To set the logo on the responsive version, use tagDiv Composer, select the mobile viewport and replace the mobile logo – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-manager/ https://i.imgur.com/6FG3i0K.png
I have the Today News theme installed, but the mobile headers are not displaying the headers I’ve indicated in the editor.
Our main site is at ourtimepress.com, and the mobile header is supposed to mimic the desktop header in font and color. The screenshots show what I’m seeing in the mobile theme editor, and what I’m actually seeing on a mobile device. I’ve tried everything I can to correct this problem. Nor can I get the correct author to display on the mobile page. Please advise.

TY for getting back. Yes I understand that a cloud footer can be used but that does not seem to solve this problem. If i try to edit it with theme builder it gives me an error.
I have disabled both mobile and amp but the regular theme, in responsive mode does not seem to display properly on mobile. How do I solve this?
