Hi,
Unfortunately that is the current functionality when the mobile menu is clicked. The page will scroll to the top when the menu is accessed, with or without the mobile theme. There would be no solution I could provide you for this. But I could add it on our suggestion list and it will be considered.
Thanks
Good day,
I trust you are well. I would like to know if it is possible to swipe to go to the next article on mobile? I am not sure if this theme has that functionality but was just wondering?
I would also like to know how to create 5 columns in the footer. I am not entirely sure to make inner columns and when I tried to make 5 columns with some CSS it displayed vertically down and not next to each other.
Many thanks,
Dom
Hello Simion,
I have just realized the problem about setting the offset…
Because I still need to show latest posts on category pages.
Anyway, is it possible to delete featured images on the category page
just like the front page you advised (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-latest-3-posts-featured-images-2/)?
Thank you for your support
I cannot change the Color Accent under Mobile Theme–>Theme Colors.
It saves other settings on this tab and looks like it saves the Color Accent, however, it does not on refresh and on the front end of the site.
I am using Newspaper 8.7.2.
Hello,
I’m writing to see if anyone has experienced this and can provide some tips we could use to troubleshoot.
At some point, the mobile menu and mobile search button stopped working, when our site is viewed on a phone. (Viewing the page in responsive/mobile view on a desktop Chrome/Firefox works fine.)
The odd thing is, the menu/search button works on most single article pages, but not on pages which include blocks listing video stories. (We found this by deleting blocks one by one, until we found that blocks with video seem to ‘break’ the link to the mobile menu.)
Example can be found on https://www.caymancompass.com, where the search or menu buttons do not respond to touch. This means that when the home page is viewed on a phone (android or iPhone), the buttons for menu and search do nothing.
We are using the regular theme, not the mobile theme plugin.
We have other sites using this theme, without these problems. We cannot find any obvious differences though.
Our live site is still at Newspaper 7.3, due to some custom code required by the boss, which needs to be rebuilt to work with themes newer than 7.5. Any hints (that don’t involve full upgrade to 8.7+) would be appreciated.
We tried: turning off Autoptimize and WP SuperCache, clearing cache in Cloudflare, upgrading to the latest visual composer, downgrading visual composer, turning off some plugins we added, removing and replacing blocks on home page, commenting out CSS, taking out Javascript and/or CSS from Autoptimize.
It could be something simple we missed. Any hints would be appreciated.
Hello, I am new here, I want to ask about newspaper theme.
Whenever I am on my site in mobile device, when I click the mobile menu button, my site will revert back to the top and load the menu.
How to change this? I want to stop the mobile menu back to the top of page when I click the mobile menu button.
Thanks
Best regards
Hi,
I have installed tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin and when I open a post page I get the following error:
wp_booster error
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page: a component with ID: td_style is not set
/home/../includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp_booster error
missing parameter ‘file’
/home/../wp_booster/td_autoload_classes.php
have I missed a setup step?
Hello,
Thank you for your response. There are some things I have to address, maybe it will help.
1. I always make changes to themes I use, some may not be that visible. So I use child themes to preserve the change without worrying about theme updates. So deactivating the child theme might not a feasible option for me.
2. Concerning the name, cpanel file manager does not permit two folders having same name in same directory (unless I am missing something). Even right now, I tried changing the child theme name to read same as parent theme name and I got a warning that’s its no possible.
3. From the very beginning of using the NewsPaper 8 theme, I have always used that exact child theme as it is without any problems. It issue started after the recent update. Before that, the theme panel was working fine and the images were loading mobile even though I was using the child theme. Now its not working.
4. Also I temporarily activated the parent theme and tried to us the Theme panel, it still did not respond. Nothing was clickable. However, the mobile images began to load although theme panel remained non-functional.
The problem is, I dont feel comfortable using the parent theme directly. I need to operate from a child that loads well on mobile and whose theme panel is working.
Please how do I get this done, like it was before I updated.
Thank you for your kind support.
So when I was working on a new site for a local city news, I was working with the mobile theme plugin and realized that bbPress had its styles dequeued (the ones from the theme which I don’t believe should be done) which was fine, however I then also realized that there was no CSS file for BuddyPress which prompted me to wonder why the BuddyPress CSS is not properly loaded in its own file.
Doing so would allow us to load that one file in the mobile theme instead what I will need to do is export the CSS and load it in its own file on BuddyPress Pages. Also its not proper to load CSS that overrides BuddyPress in the main css file.
BuddyPress Docs
https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/add-buddypress-styles-to-a-theme/
> If you want to ship your theme with extra styles to support BuddyPress add the BuddyPress styles to the buddypress.css file and include it in your theme. Do not add the BuddyPress styles to your style.css file. This will ensure the styles are only loaded when BuddyPress is activated and will override the default styles supplied by the plugin.
Go to Newspaper>Theme Panel>Header>Logo & Favicon and change it from there. Do the same for the logo for mobile using the recommended sizes.
Hi kadmael,
Thanks for the advice, I already had that plugin activated on my website.
I tried downloading and activating all available Tag-div plugins and the errors persist (I was unable to activate the tag-div mobile theme because it triggered a fatal error but that is another topic entirely.)
Hi, i want to hide some widgets in mobile version. Can i do this?
i dont want to use mobile theme plugin.
The footer logo of the website http://WWW.PAKDEFENSE.COM in mobile devices is showing too large than the header logo. How could we make it somewhat smaller or look like the header logo without changing the theme footer template?
Hello,
After updating the themes and plugins, I think about 5 days ago, I have not been able to get the theme panel to work. No tab of the theme panel works. They all lead to the theme panel landing page in the back end.
Also the mobile home page images are not loading… I just noticed this after the recent update.
Please how do I fix this?

Hi,
Indeed on mobile the page will not be displayed in the mobile menu. The mobile menu is limited to drop-down menu style. Mega-menus will also not be displayed on mobile with the same style as they are on desktop, they will be drop-downs.
So the page menus would be suited for desktop but not for mobile. You could use the mobile theme and set a different mobile menu for mobiles

Thanks
That type of block does not show the excerpt on mobile, please check the block on mobile in the live demo
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-11/
I could give you a code to make them display, it will look like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/EdE6DEto2
.td_block_12 .td_module_11 .td-module-meta-info {
display: inline;
}
.td_block_12 .td_module_11 .td-excerpt {
display: block;
}
Enter it in the theme panel here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/L1Jau0yBv7Q
Or you could use a different type of block, which displays excerpts on mobile.
Hey guys i have a question , if you check my website http://www.techbot.gr , my mobile version when i click to see the menu , is extremely slow , and that was since the first day i had installed the newspaper theme , any idea how can i speed things up for mobile version?
Hi guys,
I’m having an issue with the Big Grid 7 when viewing my site (https://www.trailandkale.com/) on a mobile device (iPhone 6s).
The problem is with the bottom “slide” row, where you should be able to swipe across with your finger. Sometimes if I touch with a big section of my finger then it will work, but not very well. The Newspaper theme example works ok so it’s not my iPhone screen. It’s strange that I’m able to intermittently get it to work but most of the time it will not. It also works fine when testing at the correct iPhone resolution in Chrome developer tools. You need to test on an actual mobile device to see the problem.
Please, can you take a look at my site on a mobile device so you can see what might be happening?
Best wishes,
Alastair
Hi, if you want to get rid of the orange color, you can change the theme accent color:
https://www.screencast.com/t/QhRM65NrzfAC
The hover color is still not changed as I mentioned on FB: https://www.screencast.com/t/B3r3rRCjrM
The mega menu also has an accent color: https://www.screencast.com/t/KemTssYV
Mobile menu as well: https://www.screencast.com/t/mND4EH9Zf
If you want to change the headers color from black to another color, please change this field: https://www.screencast.com/t/fdJJbPfm
The overlapping ads in your sidebar come from the 970 px width you add for the content ads. The main content is only 696 px. You cannot fit a 970 px ad in there.
Thank you!
Hi,
Actually there should be 3 modules in that grid, unless you have made modifications to it. If you changed the number of modules for the mobile homepage here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/w9QK0l7w
That will affect the category pages as well. Indeed that will cause the extra posts to be doubled, there is an offset solution for the homepage in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-set-offset-post-for-latest-post-module-on-mobile-theme-plugin/
Try adding the mentioned offset for the category pages
– https://www.screencast.com/t/HTs6RoojM3q3
Thanks
plugins – the theme’s required and recommended plugins; these are the TagDiv Composer, Social Counter, and tagDiv Multi-Purpose.

Tried to install the Mobile theme plugin, received an HTTP 500 error during the installation. Now, after entering my admin password, I get the HTTP 500 screen all the time.
How do I fix this? I installed using the instructions provided.
Hi there,
Just installed & configured the AMP plugin by TagDiv and it’s pretty cool that it works for like 90% right away!
I do have some suggestions to improve it, though:
- Please see https://medium.com/google-developers/how-to-avoid-common-mistakes-when-publishing-accelerated-mobile-pages-9ea61abf530f for more information on how to make AMP more SEO-friendly. The 1 thing you guys don’t have yet that Yoast SEO does is link rel=”amphtml”. This is very important to appear in the Google Top Stories Carousel with AMP.
- Smart list + Google AMP + anchor links to parts of the same page generates URLs like this. All the other Newspaper theme features do not have any problems with AMP + linking to a certain part of a page (with #anchor). So, it’s just the combination of smart lists + AMP + linking to a part of a page that’s not working.
- Image resizing is not fully responsive for Google AMP. Images are just a little too wide on all mobile devices (e.g. iPhone 7, iPhone 8 Plus, and so on). Images do scale/resize on AMP, yes, but they are still a little too big. Just compare non-AMP with AMP using Google dev tools.
- Not sure yet if this is a problem: tracking visitors with Analytics may not be working. I used the Analytics JSON tracking code like the instructions said and I see the amp-analytics script in the code of the pages, but visitors don’t show up in the statistics (yet). Maybe there’s a time delay. Again, not sure if this is a problem yet. I will confirm later.
I hope this feedback will help you improve the TagDiv Google AMP plugin!
Hello,
You can change the colors for the mobile header from the theme color sections: https://www.screencast.com/t/OnP0PzSp
The top bar was never meant to show up on mobile devices but it can be a activated with a css code if you want. You will have to provide a link to your site though so we can provide the proper code.
Thank you!
Hello,
On a category page on mobile theme, there are 5 wide featured images on top.
And below them, there is a list of posts (small pictures on the left with excerpts on the right).
The problem is, the 4th and 5th wide featured images are from the 1st and 2nd posts below them.
So on a category page at the moment, they are displayed like below
Wide featured image of post A
Wide featured image of post B
Wide featured image of post C
Wide featured image of post D
Wide featured image of post E
Post D
Post E
Post F
Post G

I would like to make the page look like below.
Wide featured image of post A
Wide featured image of post B
Wide featured image of post C
Wide featured image of post D
Wide featured image of post E
Post F
Post G
Post H
Post I
