Hmmm,weird… but if it was a theme issue i’ll have the same issue as you and every one else that bought the theme..
It’s not the theme it’s the plugin u using to “Async JS and CSS” you have to exclude these files in the plugin for the menu to work…
jquery.min.js
external.min.js
site.min.js
I have a problem from a quite a time. At first I though it is temporary due to some plugin. But now I am confirmed it is a theme problem. Menu on the mobile view is not working. When users click one icon nothing slides out.

Hello there, great theme
I want to ask if someone has trouble working with select tag in forms in this theme, when I use a drop-down list, this works as it should in Desktop and iOS devices but in Chrome Android browser I can’t select the options, these never show. Here you can find an example http://www.gacelacardona.com/test-select/
It has something to do with some scripts in site.js because when I comment around line 160 to 175 the functions (//show the mobile menu only on phone screen and //load fast click only on touch devices, except ipad), the drop-down list works but the menu doesn’t.
Please any help will be appreciated.
Hi,
Please try this custom CSS, add it in Theme Panel -> Custom CSS
.td_ul_login, .td_ul_logout {
display: none;
}
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-menu-wrap, .td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
display: inline !important;
text-align: right;
}
.td-header-menu-wrap .span9 {
display: none !important;
}
.td-header-menu-wrap .span3 {
background-color: #4b4b4b;
height: 26px;
}
.td_ul_login,
.td_ul_logout {
margin: 0 8px 0 0 !important;
}
}
Hope this works
Thanks
I mean disabling the mobile site and displaying the normal desktop version. A lot of themes have such a feature. I am surprised to learn you do not.
Hello guys,
this theme is great also on smartphones and thanks for the amazing support here. I’ve one little question. how did you solved it to get the “Login” field visible at mobiles too? Because the top navigation (sub-navigation) is not visible at the mobile view. How to get the “Login” Button now visible only on mobiles?
Thanks in advance!
Serg
Oh and just to see, I tried switching to the WP 2014 theme and I get the same thing.
http://www.browserstack.com/screenshots/774b866a869c952e814368852b29f55f5fdf345a
I think it has dropped now for everybody.Your results had some screenshots showing high scores, but mine is completely 71.
edit: it’s not a problem for me though, the theme is fast enough.

If the <p> tag has any “style” content, the inline adsense ad doesn not show at all.
Content of many posts are given justified style on my site. Here is the example:
http://www.igeeksblog.com/put-apps-on-the-notification-center-using-weespaces-cydia-tweak/
Is there any way to post Article Top ad slot after number of paragraphs instead of exactly below title?
One more thing, I experience drastic down in CTR and CPC in adsense since I have changed theme to Newspaper. Is there any tip to improve CTR?
Another important thing, Can I block specific third party scripts to load from responsive mobile site?
I’m having a heck of a time trying to increase my page speed with this theme.
I don’t know if it is the images or banner ads but I barely break 70 on Desktop and 50 below on Mobile.
Please help.
Hi,
A solution would be to use two sliders on page, one big slider and one normal slider – http://screencast.com/t/KfzBqvWoefBi
Use the same settings for both sliders (same category, sort order), hide the title on the normal slider.
Add a class to the sliders so you can target them in CSS like this:
– http://screencast.com/t/guU3pZYB
– http://screencast.com/t/A6bl2fhI2
Use css to hide the big slider on mobile and the show the normal slider instead (add the following css inside the Theme Panel -> Custom CSS):
@media (min-width: 767px) {
.bs_mobile .td_normal_slide {
display:none;
}
}
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.bs_mobile .td_block_slide_big {
display: none;
}
}
Now there should be 4 posts on desktop and 4 posts on mobile.
Thank you, Emil G.
Hi,
Plase add this custom CSS to Custom CSS->Theme Panel:
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-sp-ico-menu {
background-position: -20px -364px !important;
}
}
Thank you
Hi, sorry … didn’t intend to start a roundtable… 😉
The different colors for menu choices isn’t a bad idea — some themes pull this from custom category color.
Note that some of the sites referenced, like “The Guardian” are *OLD* templates and not responsive and will likely soon be completely redesigned. Here is BETA of their new site:
http://www.theguardian.com/us?view=mobile# — note it is following the NEW thinking in search boxes (click, then search appears), being adopted on most major sites (at least here in the U.S. and U.K.). No multi-color menus, no weather boxes.
For the search box — one YES suggestion, would be option to have an entry box in the theme panel to swap out the maginifier CSS, to insert a Google Search service box, for those who wish to use Google for site search vs WordPress.
Hi,
The CSS is fine, is only for sidebar. Add it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Did you made some modifications to the theme? Please disable any minify plugins or mod_pagespeed or other host accelerators, the html/css structure of the theme is wrong.
Thank you
if you dont … then your reply
I’m very happy the way the theme is right now,clean,professional and simple adding more things only put more weight on ur site and make it slow etc..
ruins the topic
where mobile is taking over PC any way..all those things will not even be able to show on any mobile phone..this is not 2001 dude.
u are not telling me that ” the Guardian ” are not aware of this ” 2014 ” thing ?? are you ? :)))
i didnt even mentioned mobile …
they dont have to be visible in mobile … like most other things .. 🙂

Hi guys,
I understand some people would consider this radical, but I’m exploring the possibility of removing the sidebar on mobile. That’s because:
1. The sidebar makes the site load slowly on mobile
2. It’s a known fact that most people don’t scroll down very far, therefore they won’t even see the stuff in the sidebar
3. The fact that the theme has a fly-out menu and allows us to place ads in the header, footer and in-text makes the sidebar unnecessary for the purposes of navigation and ad placement on mobile
So all in all, I think for my purposes having the sidebar on mobile may be more of a problem than a benefit. How could I have it removed?
Thanks,
Serg
Ironically, many of the theme updates are to fix issues with added features requested by users.
Disagree with some of these:
most people don’t look at weather on websites anymore since it’s on their cellphone. 5-10 years ago this was popular… now? Not so much.
If you have your breaking news on homepage, category page, tag, right side of each post, a news ticker now is a bit gimmicky unless you have breaking news every 5-10 minutes. 99% of major news portals no longer have this.
Full search bar – many people don’t search “on” the site anymore; and MOST designs for websites have gone to the search only appearing when clicked (NY Times, LA Times, etc.)
“Readers” start on home page. Anecdotal visitors come from search engine search, not from searching on site.
Just my thoughts. All of these “bloat” elements really slow down the site, page load, pagespeed, and most have to be removed for mobile, so, not super useful to most people.
Comments based on our news portals online 15 years, updated daily. Your mileage may vary.
PERSONALLY: I would like to see an update to ensure all the underlying elements are 100% up to date and 100% solid for a newspaper theme, and would like to see the author element on by default on post pages which is industry standard practice – this is more important to us than more bbpress, woocommerce, supermenus, etc. Speed, reliability, consistency.
I have a plugin that contains a javascript that uses jQuery. I’ve placed the script in the footer so the theme’s jQuery (v 1.11) is loaded before the plugin script can make jQuery calls. However, the plugin doesn’t work. The plugin comes with an older version of jQuery (v 1.9) and when i place the older jQuery in the header of footer the plugin will work. But the older jQuery version will break the theme’s mobile menu and other functions on the site.
Is it possible that the theme’s jQuery is a customized version of jQuery 1.11? The plugin author has tested it on v1.11 himself and says it works.
Hi Emil,
Thanks for the reply.
I only used the emulator to be able to show you the problem.
I did test on a few mobile phones and had the problem.
On the newspaper demo site there appears to be no issue on my mobile phone. Has some custom css been applied to this site?
I find it strange that out of the box the theme has this issue, as other themes I have not had to mess around with custom css.
I will attempt to apply this custom css, it will be a shame if this does not work as i purchased the theme for a clients site. If it does not work properly it will be a shame as I love the theme . One important part is the client wanted site to be mobile friendly.
I will advise.
Hey Emil,
Thx for your awesome support!
to 4th. I think id be really helpful to support continious loading for similar articles since it is very important to keep people on the page by giving them fitting recommendations.
I just worked 2 nights tweaking the theme for social performance. Gonna run tests tomorrow. I added a second social sharing bar, which is fixed to the bottom on mobile devices. I moved the comments ahead of the similar articles and integrated facebook comments instead of wp comments. Reduced font a little bit. Also I added a feature to hide the comments and show them by clicking the show comments bar. you may want to take a peek at http://www.dailycat.de/unglaublich-vor-welchem-tier-sich-diese-starke-katze-fuerchtet-514/
Is it a lot of work to integrate the continious loading into the similar articles?
May be also a good feature for the theme to have a 4/5 option in the similar articles interface “random” and a second trigger continuous loading.
I really appreciate your fast and helpful replies.
Best from Germany, Manu
Hi Emil,
I understand what you have said, but not sure on exact “element” to fix.
On a mobile emulator website you can see here http://screencast.com/t/DaCDfWvLI
the left margin or padding has been set in each element on the page through Visual Composer modules.
Now as per this screenshot http://screencast.com/t/CSGN7h8ID that there is no padding etc in each Visual composer element.
Is this a bug within the theme?
If tested the theme on a brand new WP install and it does exactly the same. I hope i do not need to apply a fix every time the theme is used.
As to a fix i understand the @media query setting for css. I am wondering to which class i would apply padding or margin too.
Would it be the body??? as it seems to be only the page elements, not the header etc??
Thanks in advance
Darren
I’m not having any issues with my mobile menu,i’m even using cloudflare and menu still working as entended,it’s not a theme issue are not all of us will have the same issue,it could be a plugin that making issues for your menu too not work.
hi,
can you paste here the link to your site to check this issue.
also you can try to disable all plugins to be sure no conflicts may appear between the theme and the plugins.
I have look at the menu on my install but in my computer seems ok.
Thanks for you message.
