This is one of the trade off using commercial wordpress template.. theme developer provide a lot of feature, but perhaps you only use 20-30% of them. Is there any solution ? yes, you will rely on several plugin to optimize your site:
1. Gonzales WordPress plugin, i use it to exclude script and css in a specific pages. Do you realize that if you use COntact Form 7, the script will get loaded on every page of your site.. that’s absurbs
2. Unused-css.com. It will browse your site both in desktop and responsive to find unused css selector.. for my site using visual composer, it reduce 83% of total file… for newspaper it reduce 30%, and newspaper ships with unminified CSS, so you can have extra kb on that
3. Cache Plugin. this is the real booster begin, i’m using WP-Rocket.. it support for page cache, gzip compression, defer javascript support, combine and minify script… really a major requirement when you need to speed up your site.
Is all 3 100% reliable, not really.. first you need to backup and then you need to test your front end, and make sure all of this three improved your site speed to the max.
Last but not least, your server resource also matter.. don’t expect to have good performance with low quality of server (especially shared one).
Good luck

Hi
Excerpts are usually taken from post content and are used as a small description for that post when it is displayed on modules. Search engines does not look at excerpts when a site is dislodged in SERPS, they look at post’s meta. The theme does not control these meta tags and to set them properly you have to use a plugin like SEO By Yoast which is tested and works fine. Here you can find more details about meta tags and how to generate the sitemaps: https://yoast.com/meta-descriptions/ – https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/ – https://yoast.com/xml-sitemap-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/
Basically to get your site in search engines attention you have to make a good SEO and a starting point could be here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35291?hl=en
The theme does not handle SEO, it only handle site’s layout. By this I mean how/when a post will be displayed, how many posts will be displayed on the page, which will be the layout for that page etc…
Thanks!
I have my custom post types working perfectly by following your awesome instructions.
Now not can I get them working with the mobile theme? I copied over my template files and they made my pages for the custom post types blank.
I want to use the mobile theme, but it looks like I can’t?
Hello Catalin, Thanks for the quick replay!
Sorry, maybe I didn’t make the question clear.
I mean how to make all category and post pages have three columns (left sidebar | center content | right sidebar)
The same structure like the home page: http://admin.dushi.singtao.ca (I built home page template with VC under page section)
Thanks again.
Chris

Either way, there’s a “problem here:
if td-login-wrap is not supposed to affect colours, it should be taken out (since it’s not doing anything)
or
if the colours are meant to be adjusted, the css overrides for td-login-wrap should be updated to include the new prefix: eg; “mfp-content .td-login-wrap {”
(Specific Example: This is an override the appears in the css relevant to the login modal box – it includes an override for “.td-login-wrap” {V2 style login}, but not “.mfp-content .td-login-wrap” {V3 style login} – the login css should be either removed or updated from this override 🙂 :

Hello BeeSens,
I suppose that you are using the pagebuilder+latest articles+pagination as a page template for your homepage, right? So, if you want to get rid of it this, please notice that you will have to switch to another page template. For more information about this, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
For your second request, if you do not want to have the sidebar, you will have to use the 1 column when you edit your homepage, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/2tcmf5tKcL For more information about how you can use Visual Composer, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ and also, for more references about sidebars, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/
If you refer to something else, please provide more details.
Thaks for your understanding!
Hello Tale,
So, please notice that the Mobile Theme is an additional plugin of our theme and it is optional. This feature can be disabled from the panel is you will turn off the mobile plugin. If you will do that, the theme will be switched to the default responsiveness mobile version and this will bring all your customizations which you have done for the mobile version. As you can see, the mobile theme is totally a different template and if you want to customize it as you want, you will have to add all your custom CSS code in the certain field from Mobile Theme, like this ->http://screencast.com/t/iaPKq1eg
Please notice that our mobile theme feature does not display you the content of your pages, but only for your posts. The mobile theme has only 2 modules which will be displayed on your side when the mobile plugin is activated -> Big Grid Mob 1 which contain the all your posts sorted from the Featured Category and on the bottom of the page you will bring the Latest articles. So, if you want to add some content on your pages you will have to manually add from the Visual Composer. Mobile Editor, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/P7uJGjo5qWGl For more information about mobile theme, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Hope this helps!
If you encounter other problem with this, please let us know.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
If you want to replicate the design form the other website, you need to use another block on the homepage that comes closer to the one in the other site. you can see different block templates here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
As for the header, you will have to use one of the 3 full logo styles: 9, 10 or 11. The logo could need a few adjustments in css for responsiveness though to eliminate the top padding. If you provide a link to your site I could help with the css to some extent.
Thank you!

I can confirm that there are no specific overrides for the mfp-content class…
I can see the override below, but it doesn’t target the new login modal in fullscreen….
.td-header-border::before, .td-trending-now-title, .td_block_mega_menu .td_mega_menu_sub_cats .cur-sub-cat, .td-post-category:hover, .td-header-style-2 .td-header-sp-logo, .td-next-prev-wrap a:hover i, .page-nav .current, .widget_calendar tfoot a:hover, .td-footer-container .widget_search .wpb_button:hover, .td-scroll-up-visible, .dropcap, .td-category a, input[type=”submit”]:hover, .td-post-small-box a:hover, .td-404-sub-sub-title a:hover, .td-rating-bar-wrap div, .td_top_authors .td-active .td-author-post-count, .td_top_authors .td-active .td-author-comments-count, .td_smart_list_3 .td-sml3-top-controls i:hover, .td_smart_list_3 .td-sml3-bottom-controls i:hover, .td_wrapper_video_playlist .td_video_controls_playlist_wrapper, .td-read-more a:hover, .td-login-wrap .btn, .td_display_err, .td-header-style-6 .td-top-menu-full, #bbpress-forums button:hover, #bbpress-forums .bbp-pagination .current, .bbp_widget_login .button:hover, .header-search-wrap .td-drop-down-search .btn:hover, .td-post-text-content .more-link-wrap:hover a, #buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li > a span, #buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li > a:hover span, #buddypress input[type=”submit”]:hover, #buddypress a.button:hover span, #buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li.selected a span, #buddypress div.item-list-tabs ul li.current a span, #buddypress input[type=”submit”]:focus, .td-grid-style-3 .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb a:last-child::before, .td-grid-style-4 .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb a:last-child::before, .td-grid-style-5 .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb::after, .td_category_template_2 .td-category-siblings .td-category a:hover, .td-weather-week::before, .td-weather-information::before
Hi !
I digged down the forum to see many of the user with similar requests.
Can we have a plain page template to accommodate fullscreen revolution slider with no other page elements whatsoever (so no issue of braking the container for remaining items).
I also followed the steps here at their official page and somehow made it work (but theme menu wont go) :
https://www.themepunch.com/faq/blank-theme-page-for-full-screen-sliders/
Any help will be greatly appreciated !
Hello,
I would like to know how I can make the category and post pages are same structure as the homepage (three column)
I used visual composer to create the homepage template in page section. (Can I also create category and post template in page section?)
Here is my site: http://admin.dushi.singtao.ca
Thank you!
Chris
Right now all the posts are using the default post template.
I added the above codes to loop-single.php so every post will show that.
My concern is that I have a few categories that don’t want to show the extra blocks, so my question is there anyway to exclude the blocks from those categories?
I found a temp. solution for that is I have to go into each post that I don’t want to show the block and choose a different post template from the post page itself.
If you have a better solution please help me out.
Thank you for your support.
Hello,
I have noticed that you are using the pagebuilder+page title as page template. As a suggestion, if you are not using the title for your pages, you can use the default page template. So, for your case, please try the code below ->
.home .td-crumb-container{
display:none;
}
.td-page-title{
display:none;
}
The result -> http://screencast.com/t/YE1NYytJsZaY
Thanks.
Hello muggi15,
Please notice that if you want to change the headings for your pages you will have to edit the code from the page template if you are using on your side (page.php, page-pagebuilder-latest.php and page-pagebuilder-title.php), like this -> http://screencast.com/t/n5FoS0MB and for posts, you will have to edit the td_module_single_base.php like this -> http://screencast.com/t/SuyhomF3e
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello wale,
I suppose that you are using the pagebuilder+latest articles+pagination template for pages, right? If you want to get rid of it from your homepage, you will have to change the page template or if you want to change the sorting, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
For your second request, please send us an email at cotnact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect your setup page. Also, provide the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks.

Hey guys,
I’ve just purchased the Newspaper template, as think it fits the bill perfectly for what I’m looking to achieve. The only immediate thing I haven’t spotted yet is if you can have a full page width carousel/slider at the top of the homepage instead of the fixed width boxes?
Any helps/ideas much appreciated.
James
To ensure our inclusion in some news aggregator sites and media websites, we need to add the following to our posts template.
<!– Article Start –>
should follow the headline but immediately precede the first paragraph of the article
<!– Article End –>
should immediately follow the last paragraph of the article.
and ideally
the same with
<!– Author Start –> and
<!– Author End –>
Is there a single page I could add this to to include all our past posts which i am assuming are all using the default post layout when NewsMag was added?
I am using the child theme
Hello brandontrimmer,
First of all, I want to thank you for your interests in our product. As you can see, our theme is very complex with a lot of features and if you understand it better all of them, you will easily achieve the similar layout. Before beginning to customize your website, I suggest you reading our reliable documentation and you will have to spend quite a bit of time learning that first to do so. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
I have checked your website which you gave me above and I saw that it is used an image in full width as the front page and then have included a few blocks with infinite load pagination. So, using the Newspaper and Visual Composer you can bring the image in full width with the ROW in stretch mode, like so -> http://screencast.com/t/0J12CfUnuB -> http://screencast.com/t/nDsE07hz and then you can use what kind of block you want and choose from here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/. For more information about the Block Settings, you will find here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ For post pages, please notice that we have many post template created by default for our customers and you can notice them here ->
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-lenovo-details-new-computers-that-could-be-heading-our-way-in-2015/
Also, for more information about them, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
You can consult our Youtube channel because there you will find a lot of useful video tutorial which can help you to achieve as you wish -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY
More important is this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ because there you will find how you can properly use our Visual Composer plugin, for better results.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding and good luck for your project!
Hello raynaldoverde,
If you want to move your Breadcrumbs feature to the bottom of your post page, please notice that you will have to alter the code from the core file in order to achieve best results. For example, if you are using the post template style 1 you will have to remove that come from the single-template-1.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/IozVqlcVTQr and then add that code in loop-single-1.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/aNyszQe3 and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/rcn12R5QLn
For your second request, please notice that our mobile theme is responsive and if you turn on the phone to landscape mode, the thumbs will be displayed in full width by default, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/K5Y4w40MRx (our blocks will be automatically resized according on what devices are used)
For your last request, please provide more details about what you want to achieve because I do not exactly understand what you mean. Provide some useful screenshots for a good understanding.
Thaks for your message!
