Update: I was able to fix it by changing this style in style.css from 339px to 338px
.td-block-span6 {
width: 338px;
padding-left: 20px;
padding-right: 19px;
but is this going to cause an issue somewhere else?

Not my theme, buddy. I don’t work here, just giving advice.
Upload works for me, just fine. Maybe you got a bad download.
If the error message is coming from your server, maybe double check the settings.
If Envato plugin not working, that’s not an issue with the theme, but a problem with Envato’s crappy plugin.
Oh well… I’m sure you will figure it out. FTP best way to update all WordPress themes as it avoids the exact issue you’re having with YOUR web server config.
TagDiv will be back Monday to help if you can’t sort out the issue before then.

I’m trying to update the Social Counter plugin but when I try to activate it, I lose the access to my site and WP Console. I just have a blank pages…
To revert the situation, I have to delete de plugin via FTP.

I’m certain that I’m using the zip file with just the theme files. I just tried again and once again got the following error “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini”.
It is not acceptable to me to have to unzip the Newspaper.zip file then upload all the files by ftp. There must be something wrong with the Newspaper.zip file that prevents it uploading correctly and causing this error.
My two previous themes (Bolid and Unpress) allowed me to use Envato’s automatic update successfully too so why on earth can’t I do this with your theme.

after I upgraded the Newspaper theme to version 4.6.3 the translations in the theme panel are gone meaning the forms vanished. See: http://screencast.com/t/ZEdVr2epl35
The translations still seem to work in the site.

That has never worked right for us, as “permissions” on your hosting account may not be writable for that plugin to work — it’s never worked right for us, and not a problem with the theme.
I find it’s better to do update via FTP, as you can also make backup of your files (download old files to your HD), at same time.
Hi, There are problems with the Smartlist and TagDiv Gallery modules.

In case of TagDiv gallery, I guess I have to hide either the Caption or Description. Even if I hide one of them, when you click on the image and go to the lightbox, again they get repeated. Just updated the theme manually and I still have the version as you can see in the photo above.

I’ve activated Easy social sharing plugin, however, it doesn’t display as configured, it doesn’t appear at all actually.
I’ve searched your topics and found out that i have to do some manual work to get it work, can you please reply with exact steps to do that, because i don’t want to cause damages to my website and i’m not an expert to fix anything.
Also, i used to delete the theme and upload it again to install theme updates, will my changes disappear and i need to re-do the same step or there’s something i can do to keep my changes after updating the theme?

After updated to 1.7.1 I find two problems:

One last question, will there be an update ever, to make this temp wider? No, i dont want the newspaper theme i love newsmag but few issues were making me crazy :/ with the last update they’re gone now. but The only problem now is the template’s width. And the big picture on the grid layout could have been a slider. Phew, i have so much to ask. Anyway, one last answer please. And have a nice day.

After theme update to 1.7.1 the author section links are not working
like if I click to “More From Author” or click to the side arrow next and previous its taking me up with a # after the post url.

Tries to update several times using Newspaper.zip but keep getting this error The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
Increased permitted files size in php.ini to 1000mb but still received same error.

A big update would be 1.6 -> 2.0. Going to 1.7.1 is not a big update. Given all of the security issues of late with WordPress and its related components, I can’t see why a minor update would be avoided. 1.7.1 took care of a portion of the speed problems with 1.7, enough that I’ve switched to it after noticing those speed issues immediately after upgrading to 1.7.
Save the useless band-aide – upgrade to 1.7.1 and ease your concerns.
