Hi,
The Visual Composer plugin that comes with the theme is licensed to the theme, the license specifies that only we can provide the updates and you don’t have to buy it or register it.
We’re testing the plugin latest version, if everything is ok we will include it in the next update and only then you can update the plugin by downloading the theme latest version and following the procedure presented in the plugin update guide.

Unfortunately there no such an option for mobile’s menu. This is on our todo list and will be added on futures updates, as we have over 200 features on our list and we have to take them in the order of priority.

After updating to v1.5, my social share on images addon plugin no longer works.
When hovering over images, it will not show the social icons.
Can I get any idea where to look to have that fix as I don’t want to revert back to v1.4

Alin, do you know when this new version of Newspaper with the updated VC will be released? I’m using the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin and found a bug between SEO and VC when using the raw html block. Seeing how popular the Yoast WordPress SEO is, it seems that in version 4.4 VC committed itself to making sure there were no compatibility issues between the two.

Currently Newspaper 4.6.1 is using Visual Composer 4.3.5 .
Note I am having various issues on our server actually getting the 4.1.1 update to even run; and so we’re waiting on 4.1.2 as that issue with updating has never happened before. May not impact you in any way, but if you see “nothing happen” when clicking the update button on your server/install of WP, it’s not just you. Some other folks have reported some issues with the media manager, also (not related to theme).
Not a theme issue.
You need to check your WordPress install is setup properly.
Often if you think it’s a theme issue, then switch back to default theme for WordPress to debug login.
Note I have been having a LOT of trouble trying to update WP to 4.1.1 and am not recommending that until 4.1.2 personally.

It’s doesn’t work properly on pages, because it is added automatically by Visual Composer in a text block, so it can be used only on 2 columns. We added this on our list and will be fixed in future updates.

Unfortunately there is no option to have different background for each page, you will need custom work for this. You can get someone to help you with this we cannot offer custom work for the moment because we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Only theme options are site background and background for each category(this also is apply for that category’s posts).

Please update your Social Counter plugin to the latest version from /plugins folder that comes with the theme files and add it again in your sidebar. In our last theme update some shortcodes had been renamed and I think that is the issue with the text block(it doesn’t recognize social counter and doesn’t apply settings for text block): http://screencast.com/t/wO3jMZvaVm3 and clear cache.

I have been updated theme on my page (http://www.special-ops.org) and now my widgets and some codes are not working. Instead visual widget i got these: [td_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_3″]
How I can fix that?

I think some of the main differences are the updated image on/off panel for thumbnails.
Theme panel is mostly the same; except the Newsmag system has some more updated options which will be in Newspaper 5.0. But I had no trouble moving from one to the other.

Please make sure that you use the latest version of Visual Composer(4.3.5).
If you need to update the plugin follow this guide to update Visual Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and also remove and install the VC plugin from the /plugins folder which came with the theme files.
