Did you clear your CDN and refresh the updated functions.php file after making changes? Remember if you’re using a CDN, you have to tell it when to grab updated content unless you have it set to do that automatically.

For web safe fonts, google “web safe fonts” to learn what those are.

Same here no update for Visual Composer plugin in version 4.2…

Lucian, got the update to 4.2 today but it still has the much older VC plugin version. No update. Really would like to clear my update notifications… and be up-to-date. Thanks.

Well, I’ve created custom fields with the plugin and displayed the values in a theme, so I’m somewhat comfortable with it. But when I found the above code yesterday and created a custom field with fieldname td_subtitle, it seemed like it didn’t actually update when I saved the post. I guess because the post settings box is also saving the value? Or something? Maybe this is the difficult part…

A brand new version (4.2) was just released…
I just updated, both the theme and the child theme, but it happens anyways =(

mark this as resolved. Actually the non-sticky was selected (I guess when I updated the theme version it went back to default).

You shouldn’t need to minify the css file again, if you’ve cleared the cache on your CDN so that people are loading the new minified version vs the old non-minified version. Easy to test, point your browser at the file and download to see if it’s the right one being served.

One of the items in your GTMetrix report (click the little arrows to expand each item), shows this:

Basically if you download that file and add it to the end of your style.css file, then remove the above code from your pages, you remove that issue reported in GTMetrix.

Also, I’m assuming you’ve not updated everything since the ?= versioning was still showing.

ALSO: I don’t know why your posts have weird td-slug stuff vs the filenames based on pretty permalinks. That is so NOT normal, btw. Be sure to check your htaccess file to see that the block for your pretty permalinks is in there (or just resave your permalinks in wordpress general settings – and it will tell if you if the file is writable).

Yup, that’s how child themes work. They inherit from the parent theme except for what you’ve added in the child theme files. Updates to the parent theme are still reflected and everything, but your child theme modifications will still survive updates. 🙂

Um…. you might want to read up on how to use WordPress first from the many tutorials online. Then review the docs for the theme, then explore using the features on each category page.

Typically you have categories for news such as
* Technology
* Entertainment
* Music
* Sports

then when you do a post, the news post gets put into a category related to that news content, like “Sports.”

For each category page, you can select a module layout, such as a big photo, and then colors, and a description about that category. The category page auto-updates with your latest items, and you can make it so the “featured” post is highlighted on each category page.

If you want to create a complete home page like layout for each category, you might have to do some custom programming. This is typically done in WordPress by creating a new category template based on the category number.

That might not be the best answer, but perhaps it will get the juices flowing 🙂
