Hi Simion,
Thanks so much for getting back to me. The problem appears to be intermittent, as also there are times when it loads for us. We’re working on isolating the issue on our side – it is possible there are other issues unrelated to any theme specific problem. We also tested on Android/Chrome.
Thanks for the response – if the problem arises again, or we find what created it, we will update here.
Hi,
At the moment that is not possible unless manually inserting the block shortcode in the category template file.
After the coming update, that will be possible. There will be changes to how the category templates can be created by users, so placing a block in the category page will be a simple task.
Thanks
I’m looking to use the page title as the alt text for the featured image. I understand to do this, all I need to do is to update the_post_thumbnail() to the code below. The question is.. where do I find the_post_thumbnail()?
$title=get_the_title();
the_post_thumbnail( array(150, 150),array( 'alt' =>$title) );
Thanks in advance!
Hello toimitus,
Please update the theme to the latest version of it (NP 8.7.5), remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
1- Wow thank you Simion I forgot to check here ! I removed it, it is still not appearing in gtmetrix, I guess it takes time.
2- When I said it was not convenient, I meant in term of customization (colors etc). I let like this, and I’m waiting for next updates.
Thank you again for the support, fast and effective !
Try as many things as you can, temporarily remove all codes, at least we can rule that out. Try to re-install the theme again by FTP, maybe something happened during the update
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
If nothing works, we could also take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access, FTP and cPanel as well if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.
Hello Steve To,
I saw that you have using an older theme version (8.7.4) and the latest one is NP 8.7.5. Please update it and check the results. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) and CPanel access so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
1. Check in the theme panel background section here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qbhoLnBM
Remove/replace/re-add the image found there, then check if the problem is solved.
2. You would probably be better to use a simple text element to embed the form, then all your fields will be displayed. The newsletter widget may not display all your fields, only the email. Our plugin is at the beginning, it will receive more updates in the future. Try placing the form in a text element and there should be no problem.
Thanks
Hi,
The search icon is not supposed to be below the menu. If you recently updated from an older version, please clear all caching you have, as well as CDN if used (purge cache).
Also try to click on save settings in the theme panel and check if this solves the problem. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi there
I have a few questions.
When I was reading about the new update, I read that you could now make your site fill the screen- means no bigger white border around the site, I just can’t see where in the back end I can make this happen.
I redesigned the mobile site to reflect the desktop, but whenever you go on it via let’s say our twitter account (@FashNerd), it is not the edited version but the Newspaper 8 version that people see. By this I mean the footer is Newspaper and the heading is black instead of the preferred pink.
Help, please!
Update: I have disabled plugins one by one, no improvement. I disabled and removed Visual Composer and reinstalled it from the theme 8.2 package, no improvement.
Hi,
So I’ve updated the theme to 8.7.5 but social counter still not working.
I know I’ve got the latest version as there is only facebook id now, instead of the app.
I just keep getting 0 fans for both facebook and twitter.
Interestingly I was getting correct facebook users on the development server.
Are there any specific requirements for the server to get the correct numbers?
Thanks,
I’ve tried last night to deactivate tagdiv composer.Whitout success.
I have some custom html (but just some code from facebook apps and trafic.ro tracking,i don’t think that those affect the webpage) in admin area
Also i have some adsens adsense ads and other banners in theme panel/Ads.Maybe i should try deactivate them?
It was realy weird.I’ve made other updates from 6.x to 7.x without issues. The theme requirements are all green,in the status page.
Hi,
There are currently some issues with the Twitter counter, it will not count anymore. We provide an updated social counter plugin. Deactivate the one you currently use and install this one
– https://www.filedropper.com/showdownload.php/td-social-counter_1
Then twitter should display accurate information again
– https://www.screencast.com/t/IFFLJiyitX0P
Thanks
Hi,
No need for additional information to configure Facebook, since theme version 8.7.4
– https://www.screencast.com/t/pMvQqgS5eXPB
Now only the ID has to be entered
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Sie1ueXB1
So please update the theme and theme plugins to the latest version and there should be no problem with Facebook. Twitter also stopped working, we provided a new social counter plugin to fix it, until a new theme update is released. This is the plugin
– https://www.filedropper.com/showdownload.php/td-social-counter_1
That should get Twitter working again

Here is an update guide that you can follow

Hello Mechenzy,
Please update the theme to the latest version of it which is NP 8.7.5.
Thanks.
Ohh Simion, thank you very much. In the article I wrote today there wasn’t the date. Your screenshot saved me.
A last question: how much time it takes google to update those articles already indexed that have the date in search result? How can I spped up the process?
Thank you very much.
Hi,
It seems that only the header is displayed, the rest is empty. Please check the theme requirements here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Re-install the latest version of the theme (8.7.5) by FTP, it is the most reliable method
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Update the theme plugins manually if needed, the composer should update automatically but sometimes it fails
– https://www.screencast.com/t/N2UOiiKkdBDA
Let us know the results.
Thanks
After the latest update the search icon in my menu bar is not working in Chrome or iOS Safari.
It works fine on macOS Safari.
Can anyone help identify the problem?

Hi,
For such an old version you most likely used Visual composer. Please deactivate the tagDiv composer after you update, this will be activated automatically when the theme is updated or installed (since it’s introduction in 8.0).
When both are active there could be layout problems.
Also it is important to check the available resources in the system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Update by FTP, this is the most reliable method
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you have code in the theme panel, or you use a child theme, deactivate them because the code could be outdated. After the update do not make any modifications to the theme files. Clear caching, clear CDN if used, clear your browser cache as well.
You can use the manual activation if asked again
– https://www.screencast.com/t/NXhtb0Vtn
Thanks
A plugin to manage ads would be easier then modifying code in the theme files, modifications which will probably be lost if you update the theme. You could give that plugin a try.
In a coming update there will be changes to how the post templates are created. So you will be able to control the ads that display on posts better. For example you can create a post template and use that for posts where you don’t want to display ads. And another one for the posts you want to display ads.
There shouldn’t be long now before the update will be released, with these new features.
Thanks
Hi,
@avinashiitd If anything the theme and theme plugins are more optimized in the latest theme version, than previous versions. Please check the theme changelog (bottom of the page) to see what changes and fixes have been made from 8.7.2 to 8.7.5
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Also in terms of GDPR, the 8.7.5 version is compliant.
So you should consider updating to the latest version
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If that error is still displayed despite the theme system status set correctly, you could also contact your hosting and mention it to them. Maybe there still is a limitation somewhere.
Thanks
Hi,
Unusual issue to say the least. You could create a child theme, add code to the functions in the child theme. That will not be lost if you for example update the theme. A child theme is not difficult to install
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks
Hi,
All other plugins and WordPress are up to date, and the theme and theme plugins are not. Older theme and plugins may not work with the latest WordPress. There were many fixes made after a few WordPress updates, in the theme (above version 8.0) so you are missing those.
So that theme version with it’s plugins and latest WordPress may simply not work properly. However that may not be the cause of the problem you are describing. Images not loading could be server related or caused by possible conflicts of plugins or maybe theme modifications or child theme.
You could check with the browser inspector by inspecting a page where there are problems, eventual errors are displayed in the console.
Thanks
