Hi
We’re sorry for any inconvenience you have encountered using our theme.
The theme is tested and feature images should be displayed without any changes in code. However checking your site I’ve found some errors in browser’s console which are related with theme’s js: http://screencast.com/t/A5oKnz8tg This errors may be caused by some plugins which conflicts with the theme or by some minifycation used for js. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using, remove the css/js minification then test the site again.
The theme can’t control the informations picked by Facebook sharer when a post is shared. Facebook looks for og tags and picks the details from these tags. To generate the og tags you can use a plugin like SEO By Yoast which is tested and works fine with our theme. Please check these links for more details in this regard: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/ – https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/
Another important aspect is server’s response time. Facebook won’t wait to long for requested data and if the server respond to slow some data will be skipped. Checking your site with google page-speed tool I’ve noticed that the response time is higher then 6s, please check the screen: http://screencast.com/t/2qMDqyDS2 Make sure that your server meets theme’s requirements and also ensure that the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
It is very likely that Facebook won’t anything about a new published post. Facebook handle a huge amount of data and a new published post won’t be indexed automatically. However you can force Facebook to update new posts by running a fresh scrape with debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/ – http://screencast.com/t/8rKTpv28f
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
HI
You can edit the page using Visual Composer plugin and change/delete the blocks as you wish. Please refer to our documentation for more details about how to use Visual Composer and how to setup the homepage: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Let us know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!
Hi
Theme’s blocks we’re designed to work on 1/1, 1/3 and 23 columns: http://screencast.com/t/fN3T2xPSwV We didn’t tested 1/2 or 1/4 layout and there is no implementation for it, sorry.
You can filter posts by tag using wither post loop settings if you’re using page-builder+latest as page template: http://screencast.com/t/5otlX0agNtVp or from block settings for the content displayed with Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/FhVMFdsdoo
For more detail about page templates and block settings please refer to our documentation:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
You can use the embed code and change the values for width and height as you want, here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/izfEUcYf296Y – http://screencast.com/t/ERGYIvyrF
Thanks!
Hi
The settings from theme panel should not be affected by theme’s update as they are stored in database which is not touched during the update. The settings may be lost only if the db is damaged or the reset function is used: http://screencast.com/t/RnjDahif4r5
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then try to import the settings again.
Let us know ho it goes.
Thanks!
Hi
The theme use thumbs to display featured images on modules. From each image it’s cut a new thumb for each size defined theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/ktBuIKelyMm Checking your site I’ve noticed that you don’t have the thumbs properly generated. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the caches then try to regenerate the thumbs again.
You can get the shortcode by clicking classic mode button in Visual Composer, the plugin will switch in back-end editor: http://screencast.com/t/yCJufRzCIrC
Thanks!
Did you try the normal fixes to solve the issue with your WordPress setup?
a) proper install of theme and plugins; disable plugins that came with former theme
b) check enough system resources per the theme system status
c) disable plugins you might be using that conflict with Visual Composer
d) clear cache in browser and on your site
e) RTFM (read the instructions)
f) turn off ad blocking or intrusive anti-virus that blocks your own WordPress admin panel
g) be very specific in WHAT does not save, where, and what you did to try to debug why YOUR setup isn’t working
h) review other topics on here as to how folks fixed their particular problem, such as using cloudflare the wrong way, or not clearing cache, etc. — only YOU can manage your own website — theme cannot fix things unrelated to itself, nor can others
i) if you ask for help, people here try to help
j) insults and the like help no-one
Tens of thousands of people using this theme for 3+ years use it every day; but not every web hosting setup is the same. If your setup works with “normal” WordPress settings and is up to date with latest secured version of WP, theme should work if properly installed.
Tech support offers help as time permits, in order received, and they do respond to everybody and all emails. And have always done so, as I can attest as long time user.
Don’t give up! Try to check some of the things mentioned above AGAIN, if done already — try changing to different web browser (e.g., CHROME); if you’re using broken old version of Safari on Windows, or similar, that can be issue also.
Helps to describe what you are doing and HOW you are doing it, and perhaps you will get some help.
Thanks! I use Visual Composer to build pages. Is the “avoid duplicates” function somewhere in VC? Or is it in some other page builder. I’m looking but don’t see it.
Thanks again for the help!
It’s the latest version of Newsmag 😉
From your Themeforest account, “downloads.”

misc: we fully rewrote the trending now block, it’s now leaner and it works better

Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except Visual Composer and try to save settings again and see if it works.
If you still have issues please check the System Status parameters – http://screencast.com/t/1cIDGsp1P and increase them to at least recommended values – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also if you have a security module on your server like suhosin please try to disable it as it could cause similar issues.
Let us know how it goes and if you still have issues contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so w can take a closer look. Also paste a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi,
The Mobile Theme is an optional plugin and it doesn’t support and/or render the Visual Composer shortcodes(including tagdiv shortcodes). It comes with its own templates and elements.
If you use Mobile Theme and you want to place something above/bellow Related Articles here you can find the code(post template) – http://screencast.com/t/aFPxTbrQA
Thanks!
Hi,
The Mobile Theme plugin is an optional plugin and it comes with its own templates. It was not created for Visual Composer support and also you don’t have an option for sidebar. Even if you modify the code and you load the sidebar, it will not render the theme shortcodes and also other widgets – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
If you want to have the same content like on desktop I suggest to disable the Mobile Theme plugin and use the default responsive theme.
If you want to alter the mobile search(using Mobile Theme plugin) here you can find the code – http://screencast.com/t/R0faPnQa
Thanks!
HI
Please refer to our documentation for more details about how to use Visual Composer and customize the homepage: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Now to respond on this specific matter are two ways to achieve the desired result:
– use a 2/3+1/3 layout for pages like here: http://screencast.com/t/gtxjGSH5I – http://screencast.com/t/5GH0TAfZtad
– add it as a widget in sidebar from Appearance > widgets: http://screencast.com/t/epP6x6XKtR – http://screencast.com/t/JubydjNv3Oq
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Hello Fitlogy.com,
The functionality of Search button cannot be changed very easy because all of this implementation is placed in code and this is not a simple task. First of all, if you want to bring best results with our theme, disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled wit hour theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello,
This is most likely a plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. ALso remove any javascript compression you seem to have active on your site. Then test the menus again.
let us know if you still have issues with the menu.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cnd files if you use it.
If you use wp super cache, please use this method for a temporary fix until they update the plugin:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-problems-3/
If you still have trouble with this, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Thank you!
Hi
The theme does not control the registration process, it only make the widget used in this regard. WordPress handle login/registration process so it could be a conflict with some plugin or a miss-configuration from the server. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using and test the site again.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Hello,
If you cannot see he background, there could be some kind of error on your site so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have implemented. We have no reports of such issues and we cannot recreate the issue on our end.
Thank you!
Catalin,
Thank you for your reply. I’m not sure that I understand your comment concerning not being able to compare the two sites?
On my laptop and external monitor the http://newstest.meta-morphos.es/ home page looks the same when the mobile plugin is turned on or off. The only difference I see is when I view the site from my mobile phone. The mobile plugin reduces the front page to a vertical stack of scrolling blocks.
I’ve now removed all CSS fron the ‘newstest’ site and only have the Visual Composer and Slider Revolution plugins activated. The one customization is that I replaced the original top left column block with one Revolution slider block. One a large monitor the front page looks AOK and displays the same on Firefox and Chrome. When I view it on the mobile phone it almost displays correctly but the left margin is shifted left and crops off some of the text. The right column doesn’t display well.
It appears that one solution is to use it with this one customization and with the mobile plugin turned on. On mobile viewing it abbreviates the front page content but at least displays a usable vertical scrolling stack of info blocks.

Is it possible to turn off the Magazine themes default effort to transform the standard site into a responsive version?
That is, to have the complete site page (without mobile plugin) displayed on mobile screens and simply scaled down to fit the mobile or tablet window? I have this option with a framework theme and the mini display of the complete web page works fine. One simply zooms in to select the menu or view areas of the page.(Please see; http://www.kaufmanndesign.com)
This would provide a simple solution for several issues. The pages could still handle iframes, and there would be no surprises for any pages customized with CSS. If a page look good on a normal screen, then it would look fine on a mobile screen. Maybe this setting option is somewhere in the theme settings?
It’s a bit of a surprise that with 50+ Visual Composer elements and blocks as standard tools on the Newspaper theme that it’s not possible to shift a few around without breaking the theme. In the Magazine/Newspaper theme, is it primarily the first top left column block that’s critical to hold the page together as originally intended?
Thanks, Lon K
Hi,
Our theme does not use the font awesome files if you do not install the plugin. We use our own font icons found here: http://screencast.com/t/RgcAkorv30
Visual composer on the other hand uses it;s own font awesome files. In order to make sure the visual composer file structure is intact you can simply disable and delete the plugin and then install it again from here: http://screencast.com/t/H4lXvgzgeg
If the file structure is intact, then you will have to try the methods I exemplified above.
Thank you!
Hi
You can use Visual Composer page-builder to add/delete blocks from pages. For more details please check our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-use-visual-composer/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-video-playlist/
Let us know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except Visual Composer and Yoast Seo plugin, clear all your caches and try to share a new post and see how it goes.
If it still doesn’t work please try to use the fb debugger(Scrape it) tool to refresh it – https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
The theme doesn’t control the og meta, so it could be a facebook issue. Try the debugger and see how it goes.
Thanks!
Hello,
This is because you use the mobile theme. The author box was created using visual composer. The mobile theme does not use visual composer. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
Hello bazzer7rose,
I have inspected your website and I noticed that you are using some untested plugins which can interfere with the theme code and which can cause a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, I have checked your console tab and you have some warnings and errors which might be generated by your untested plugins. As a default state, the theme works like a charm and until now we haven’t encountered any issue with the search module to mobile mode.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
I suspect your fonts got changed vie css. Please remove any custom css in your theme panel or any custom code added in the theme files. Restore the theme to it;s default behavior without any interference and check the fonts again. Also disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
If you cannot manage to get the icons to show, please provide a link to your site pointing at such an elements and we will take a look.
It can also be a cdn issue like this topic suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/
Thank you!
