Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask about the benefits of AMP in 2024 because I’m considering implementing it on my website as well. Is it still relevant or not for a blog or news website that aims to generate revenue through ads when using AMP?

I’ve heard some recent news saying AMP is no longer relevant since it’s no longer supported by Google, but from all the articles I’ve read, they emphasize, “If your site is a news site, using AMP is an important step.”

My mobile website, when tested on PageSpeed Insights for Core Web Vitals, passes the assessment. However, I’m still confused about whether I should use AMP or not. I’m uncertain because the Core Web Vitals results sometimes fail after a month or after significant Google updates.

What about you? Do you use AMP, and has it been beneficial for your site’s ranking or revenue? Is using AMP for a blog or news website a necessity?

I hope I or others who are as confused as I am about AMP can gain clarity from experienced webmasters and theme developers here.

Hello!

You should optimize your website. I recommend you use fewer features on the page, so the requests will be less as well.
Improving page speed in WordPress is crucial for providing a better user experience and optimizing your website for search engine rankings. Here are some tips to help you enhance your WordPress site’s page speed:

Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.

Utilize Caching: Implement caching to reduce server load and speed up page loading times. WordPress caching plugins like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache can generate static HTML files of your pages to serve users instead of dynamically generating them each time.

Minify CSS and JavaScript: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files to remove unnecessary characters and reduce file sizes. This can be done manually or through plugins like Autoptimize or W3 Total Cache.

Enable GZIP Compression: Enable GZIP compression on your server to reduce the size of files sent from your server to users’ browsers. Most hosting providers offer GZIP compression, but you can also enable it through plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.

Optimize Database: Regularly clean up and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data and improve performance. You can use plugins like WP-Optimize to automate this process.

Limit External Requests: Minimize the number of external requests your website makes by reducing the use of external scripts and widgets. Each external request adds overhead to your page’s loading time.

Enable Lazy Loading: Implement lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes so that they are only loaded when they are visible on the user’s screen. This can significantly reduce initial page loading times.

Optimize Server Response Time: Choose a reliable hosting provider with fast server response times. Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to serve your content from servers closer to your users.

Regularly Update Plugins and Themes: Keep your WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with the latest performance optimizations and security patches.
Ads can significantly impact the speed of your WordPress website since they often involve loading external resources and scripts. You can try to limit the number of ads, optimize ad sizes and formats, and implement lazy loading on your ads.

By following these tips, you can significantly improve the page speed of your WordPress website, leading to better user engagement, higher search engine rankings, and overall improved performance.

Hi Amaro, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com, there we can have a private conversation.
It is recommended to use a cache plugin and an optimize css, html and JavaScript code, most of cache plugins (like WP Rocket, Litespeed) have this option, others like WP Super cache need to be used with an extra plugin like autotomize – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Also you need to check your website with https://pagespeed.web.dev/ and try to resolve the situations mentioned there.

Hello,

To increase page speed, I recommend checking which thumbnails you are using on your blocks. You might want to avoid having all of them enabled and optimize and regenerate images. You can use the EWWW Image Optimizer for image optimisation, and the OMGF plugin for fonts. Additionally, you can use the WP Rocket plugin.
here are many optimization guides provided by our users here in the forum, some made by us; you could check some of them

Hi,

Checkout this website when i right click on feature image it does not showing option for open image in new tab like an image check: https://share.zight.com/NQuAy6WB

When I open my blog post and right click on image its shows like an image check: https://share.zight.com/nOu7qjLb

Both websites are using same theme and template than whats the difference?

Also when I set feature image there is no option to set full size check: https://share.zight.com/8LuNv866

Also one more thing when I check my blog post speed on https://pagespeed.web.dev/ its show 89 on mobile if I remove feature image from the post. when I enable feature on top after heading (h1) its show only 40 in mobile. how can decrease that speed for just 1 image? and how can I resolve that speed issue without removing feature image after h1 in the post?

Hello, I have the following issue when using the video playlist plugin.

In google pagespeed tests appears the following problem regarding the videos and the SEO optimization:
Links are not crawlable: Search engines may use href attributes on links to crawl websites. Ensure that the href attribute of anchor elements links to an appropriate destination, so more pages of the site can be discovered.

I added manually the href attribute using JS (upon the loading of the page, after the creation of the element appended the href attribute and value from Youtube). But this led to a different problem – the links were redirecting to youtube, something that we do not want (we want the visitor to be able to see the videos remaining in our page).

The second thing I tried was in a similar way (using a simple JS script) appending just a value to the href attribute (e.g. href=”#v” so that it neither redirects nor move to the top of the page). But the error in the SEO section remained (I assume that maybe could be because it is appended after the creation of the element, the tests are ignoring it??).

So, summarizing what we would like is:

Finally, what is of importance to us is to find a way that the player works and the SEO issue is resolved (whether it would be an element or not, with a specific attribute or not etc, is ok).

I hope I explained it 🙂 , but I am at your disposal for any further info. Thanks!

Kind regards,

Bettina

Hello!

I’m sorry for that.
You can have a great score, but it needs some adjustment and optimizations.
We know that page speed is very important, and we try to optimize the theme as much as we can, so you can have a great score with less optimization than before.
However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view.
A great solution is to use the Google PageSpeed Insights tool, so you can see exactly what you should optimize on your website.
For customization and other services, you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/.

My Website has a direct URL login problem.
if I open the main URL link (https://moneygleam.com, moneygleam.com ) link automatically converts to the download of some temp file.
but if I open with another link like an article link like this article link https://moneygleam.com/bad-credit-loans-from-direct-lenders, any Category link, or 404 non-valid links it will be open smoothly there is no problem for open.
Since last week I have been trying to find out the problem and solution I am unable to find out.
I attached it here for reference.
when I try to check the main page speed it will show data errors. but if I open the wp-dashboard with the login link it will open that’s the reason I am unable my website page speed, other errors, and unable to open the website home page with website main URL link.

Hello @Ericky !

Please make sure you have the latest update of the theme, plugins, WordPress and PHP version.
Check these guides: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/what-is-google-inp-score-and-how-to-improve-it-in-wordpress/ -> https://web.dev/articles/inp

We have 3 options available for mobile versions that you can use:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Try to optimize your website and increase the page speed score.
Please check the tutorials from Google Pagespeed Insights and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.
Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/

Hello,

1. Yes, you can add the logo more near to the menu, but you need to set the row layout like this -> https://i.imgur.com/DMqn02Y.jpeg and stretch row https://i.imgur.com/29Aet0y.jpeg You can not delete the empty column, only the row that contains empty columns.
If you want to delete a row, you can delete a row with the empty column using the right click on the row icon -> https://i.imgur.com/JodWvlW.png -> https://i.imgur.com/e6bb8U5.png or using the drag and drop or you can simply click on the row and press the delete button from your keyboard -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Mai7iyEG The same steps are to delete the elements.
2. Please disable the mobile theme and amp plugins.
Using our theme, you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ The option that you need to use.
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc, so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY.
So, the mobile responsive is what you see when that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
The Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin cannot.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page, you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
3. Format need to be MP4, File size for embedded video should ideally be 500KB, as the ideal page size from Google’s standpoint is <1MB. File size of 1-2MB is acceptable.
Video duration should be no longer than 25 seconds.
4. You need to use a plugin that provides this option. Please check our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/
5. The images are responsive; please let me know what you mean.
6. I recommend using the WP ROCKET plugin.
Also, we don’t recommend to using amp, because it is deprecated -> https://developer.bigcommerce.com/docs/storefront/wordpress/platform-integration/enabling-amp

7. I recommend using Duplicator plugin, but you can try other plugins from this list -> https://www.bluehost.com/blog/best-wordpress-backup-plugins/
8. Usually, the color and image are set on the row, so please edit with tagDiv Composer and select the row and go in the tab CSS, and there you can set it https://i.imgur.com/IkbGWUS.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/background-color-of-the-main-menu-be-changed/

Good afternoon.
I purchased a newspaper theme and I have a number of questions about using the product, I ask you to give me technical advice.
I’m currently using the theme INTERIOR DESIGNER and have a number of questions.

1. I imported header school pro. Is it possible to place menu text near the logo? There is a fairly large empty area, can this area be removed or made smaller? Is it possible to remove empty column at all, or change their size, or is this a preset value that cannot be changed?
Screenshot 1.

2. In the browser of a personal computer, the mobile version opens correctly, I can fully customize it. However, when I log in from a mobile phone, I see a completely different newspaper template and different content. I don’t understand what this is connected with, please provide information on how to enable the display of the same site on a mobile phone, the template for which I have installed. Screenshot 2.1 Screenshot 2.2

3. I use the INTERIOR DESIGNER theme. How can I install my video in animation in the header of the site not from YouTube, but from my server? Please indicate the format of the video clip, what is the optimal duration, what are the technical parameters of the video clip for best performance, how to encode this video? And accordingly, how can I place it on hosting (directory) and how can I connect it to the site? Where are the video dimming settings?

4. I made two buttons in order to direct them to separate language versions of the site. Give instructions on how to connect language versions, for example, mysite.com/pl
Screenshot 3.

5. How to make pictures responsive to clicks so that they open in full size?
6. List everything that can lead to improving site loading speed. I want to have a green area when loading. Specify plugins and optimization methods.

7.Which backup plugin is best to use to roll back to a previous version of a website if an error is made?
8. I want to change the color in the menu SKOOL PRO, how do I change the background color of the menu from light to dark? I didn’t find any settings.

Dear Support Team,

I would like to report a significant performance issue with our website when accessed from mobile devices. I conducted a performance test, and the results are concerning:

First Contentful Paint (FCP): 3.8 seconds
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): 6.5 seconds
Total Blocking Time (TBT): 340 ms
Speed Index: 5.0 seconds
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): 0.002
The performance score obtained is 59, which indicates a suboptimal user experience on mobile devices.

I tried to resolve the issue by installing the recommended cache plugin, WP Super Cache. However, the performance did not improve significantly. I have read that WP Rocket does not work well with the current theme we are using, but it has helped improve speed on other themes I have used.

Could you please advise on what steps I should take next to enhance the speed and overall performance of our site on mobile devices? Any recommendations for alternative solutions or configurations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I’ve followed all the recommendations and installed all the recommended plugins to get better results with the Newspaper theme, but on PageSpeed Insights the performance of my site is still in the red.
The loading time is very slow. I’ve even done the recommended configuration for Cloudflare. What else can I do to improve loading speed and performance?
