Hello,
1. I would like to translate, using WPML, the text from this section:
Dashboard >> Newspaper >> Theme panel >> Footer >> Footer info content >> Footer Text. In the td_footer_extra.php file I’ve found this code (on line 64):
$buffy .= stripcslashes($td_footer_text);
I think I could add a method like _e() to make it tranlatable but I’m not sure and I can’t afford to make any mistakes because it’s a very big website (more than a few thousands posts).
I’ve also tried this: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-to-translate-my-footer-content/, but the website main language isn’t english so I wasn’t able to translate it to english.
2. How can I use the same widget ( here is: [tagDiv] Block 7 ) with different text for different languages? In Appearance >> Widgets >> [tagDiv] Block 7 >> Display on language, but when I hit save, it automatically switch the option back to All languages so the result is the same as before
3. Is it possible to translate News Ticker and Big Grid Slide from VisualComposer?
On front page I have a News Ticker with a Big Grid Slide, but on the translated version of the page it doesn’t show anymore.

We will try to find a solution for full compatibility regarding the tagDiv composer and WPML. Sorry again for any inconvenience.
It is true that the theme does not support RTL. The design is not optimized for a RTL environment, so there will be various problems in this case.
When creating a RTL website it would be best to use a theme that has been created with this in mind, or has support for RTL. I can’t say I know how I can be of help unfortunately.

OK – Thanks for this although FYI I think your guys need to speak with their guys because it seems (from my perspective) you are both making claims which are not true about each other!
So, I have now deactivated the WPML Translation Management Plugin and I can now create a page using the composer which is great…Thank you.
However…On a very different note….The translation I am doing is in Arabic and I am running into difficulties now due to the fact that wordpress is forcing the content to run Right to Left…Is there any advice you can give to help on this? I see that Newspaper does not support RTL html.

I believe you have installed the WPML Translation Management plugin

Our page builder will encode the page content so translating a page with this module would not be possible. Maybe this will change in the future, can’t say for sure what will happen. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The alternative is to switch the pages when the language is changed.

Clicking on the translate option will open a new page which you can build

So depending on language selected the appropriate page will be displayed. You can create a page for each language you have enabled.
I currently have the WPML Multilingual CMS and the WPML String Translation plugins installed. The WPML Translation Management plugin is not installed.

Thanks for the quick reply.
OK, so I get both the options you have shown in the screencasts. However, when I click on “Translate +” from “Edit Page” I have no option to translate the content built with the TagDiv composer (see here https://cdn.wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/2890516-Screenshot_2018_11_08_18.13.49.png?x59034).
Both TagDiv and WPML examples say that I should get all the individual fields to translate from this view as shown here: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/create-multilingual-wordpress-websites-using-the-newspaper-theme-and-wpml/
Does this make sense now?

I have used Newspaper for several projects and I am very happy with the results and your support over the years.
However, I recently was asked by a client to create an Arabic localisation of a site and so chose WPML as the plugin to go with based on your recommendations and having viewed pages from both TagDiv and WPML showing how good it looked.
I have installed WPML although I am not getting the opportunity to translate pages built with TagDiv Composer. Here is a link to the support request with WPML https://wpml.org/forums/topic/tagdiv-newspaper-theme-pages-made-with-tagdiv-composer-just-not-editable/
Unfortunately the response from WPML doesn’t acknowledge that Newspaper is officially supported and now they want FTP and WordPress access to sort the issue.
I was hoping that you guys could perhaps take a quick look at the support link above and see if you have any suggestions as to what the issue may be.

1.By default “SHOW DATE” displaying date in english. I installed WPML plugin, and even with translation it display in english.How to display date in russian?

Unfortunately, please notice that the header section is unique for the whole website. Notice that the WPML will create a new page for your translated version with the same header. IF you want to add some new ads inside them you need to directly add to a page.

i checked localization on theme, i have translated all strings, but in page is only in english

That would be done with a translation plugin. You could make tests with some translation plugins. Try free ones like qTranslate that should work. WPML is also compatible with the theme.
A language switcher provided by most translation plugins will allow users to switch the language resulting in switching the pages. They will still be normal pages, so editing them would not be a problem.

– Then you translated that footer page in German.
– In WPML string translation you have added the ID of the translated page (German page)

That should work. For example I have a post in two languages, English and French. English will display one page in the footer

I know that I need to translate the strings in order to translate the footer section, but for some reason it does not pick up the translation. I use WPML and I want my footer page to be translated, so I also translated the english page to german. However, when I go to my german part of the website, it still shows the english content.
Can you help me how to translate the page – what am I doing wrong?

With a cloud template it will be possible in the template, yes. It could be that you use WPML, the theme panel translations will not be used in that case.

The WPML is compatible with this setting, sorry! Please notice that the case will be investigated but notice that’s not a simple task and it will take some time until finished it because this change required to do more deeper further investigations.

Just following up to this.
In your email you mentioned the issue was due to the fact WPML was setup using subdomains using different languages. That Newspaper theme was not compatible in this setting.
As your site says that the Newspaper theme is fully compatible with WPML can you advise that these settings is working now?
As my site is going out of development in the next week and we really need to have this feature available to us.
