Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible). We tried to find the best way for the transition(the script), but some issues may appear. We are very sorry for all the problems that the update caused.

Hi,

Do you refer to a delay regarding fonts, colors when your page is loading?
This happens because of the cascading property of css, the default css loading first and then the custom one. Also if you use speed booster could affect this, which moves the css and js at the bottom of the page structure so that the page will load faster. A solution is to change the color directly into css stylesheet file.
If this is not what you mean please provide more details, a screenshot and a link may help.

Regarding the first warning, that section deals with the custom fonts. Did you added anything on that section? The htaccess file should be generated in the WP root. You can read more about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.htaccess – http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/why-you-cant-find-htaccess-file-on-your-wordpress-site/
This is not an issue to appear in both folders, just make sure you don’t have rules that creates conflicts. Maybe it is added by a plugin that you use also in the theme folder or the server creates an htaccess file for more folder. I couldn’t know for sure what generates it also there.

In the Newspaper ver 6.5.1 we already provided latest version of Visual Composer.

@paulberrow The latest version of Visual Composer was not tested with Newspaper 4 and some issues could appear. I suggest to update to the latest theme version using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ to make sure that Visual Composer will work properly.

@zeus Please make sure you update the theme properly(try via ftp) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ then disable all the plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check if you still have this issue.
You should not have any issues as we tested this before release.

Hi,

Please make sure you update the theme properly via ftp, make sure all the files were uploaded. Then clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and also disable all the plugins except of Visual Composer and check if you still have this issue. Also disable any css/js minification.
The latest version of Visual Composer was tested with the theme and we did not found any issues.

You have to use the Visual Composer provided with the theme version you have on your site. The new version 4.7.4 is tested with the latest version of the theme, so if you want to use it please update to the Newspaper 6.5.1.
If you update to version 6 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ please also update the child theme, you can find it in the /code folder from theme files that you download from themeforest.

2. Try to re-save the permalinks from Settings > Permalinks and also disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache. Maybe it is caused by a plugin that you use. Do you use a redirect plugin?

The tagdiv blocks were designed to work with default posts and also not sure if the Events categories will appear on block settings. You could try to filter by tags and see if it works.
