You should make a new category where you should add your desired posts and then, this block has to be sorted by this category in a random way. It’s simple!
For your second request, the theme does not have any such an option for it. You need to check the theme’s core files where the header is called and with a condition, you can exclude the header ad. To check if you are on homepage, you should use the following rules from here -> https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/is_home/

Please notice that if you want to change the color of this bar, you need to change the Theme Accent Color from Theme panel. Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change only the Active color bar, sorry! Notice that the Speed Booster is an optional plugin and if you are using another untested plugin with the theme, this plugin will be automatically disabled. The speed booster is an optional plugin and it is tested only with these plugins – http://screencast.com/t/hcjLnOqh4i2 and if you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that, they add many plugins and some of them are not written fine so the developer took this decision. After more further deeper investigations, it seems that problem regarding displaying of images happen due to memory caches. First of all, please remove all of the untested plugins and then, clear all of the caches (browser cache, hosting/server cache, purge CDN files if you are using something like this) and then, check the results.
I have checked your website and the images seem to works as expected.

2)You should use the Cloud Template Library to customize your category and tag pages because using this plugin you can add the Ad Box everywhere you want on the page.

I have tested your website on mobile and the menu seems to work as expected without any issue! The theme does have any such an option that allows you to display the header image on the mobile theme, sorry!
