Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.

I think that the mobile version is look like that because you have the mobile theme plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)

Please notice that we can not test/investigate if this is a theme plugin problem or not, this can be tested only if you deactivate all non theme and untested plugins, all I can do with out deactivate these is to try to provide a custom css for that problem, but for this you’ll need to reactivate the mobile theme plugin.

If you have many articles you’ll need to make some special queries for what you want to extract from database. For example on the last query you can get the last 20 publish articles, if there is no index on post_date, the query will be slow if there is set an index the query will be fast.

Also our theme dose not have specialize queries, it is using the layers provide by the WordPress -> https://i.imgur.com/rU4w88X.png now if you have a big database as in this case the CMS need to be adapted, find the slow queries and optimize them.

Unfortunately there is a problem with the new option add in theme panel for disable the schema article, this interfere with preview draft, in order to fix this problem you’ll need to make some changes in theme file or deactivate the schema articles from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/0E3IucACC You will have to check that in order to deactivate the schema, this issue will be fixed in the next update.

What you can do is to make a test and use from Newspaper 10.2 only the tagDiv Composer and Standard pack and deactivate the tagDiv Cloud Library, is look that this one create some conflicts, so if you ware not using cloud elements there should be no problems, but first please make a test on a staging website.
