Hi,
You could install the mobile theme plugin and check again
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
This plugin is created for mobiles specifically, there should be a noticeable improvement in terms of loading speed. When active the website will not be the same as on desktop, you could make some tests. Read the guide and activate the plugin.
Using a mobile theme would be a solution to speed up the website. If not, the same content will be used across all devices.
Hi,
You could simply use Flex grid 4, which is similar to Big grid 12. The flex grids have options to customize the space between the modules.
For example I can set a space of 2px like this (also increase the height of the images to compensate the smaller space)
– http://prntscr.com/lk3pc3
– http://prntscr.com/lk3ttp
Thanks
Hi,
Try it like this instead, should be able to click in the top space after adding this code
.td-header-wrap {
padding-top: 115px;
}
.td-ad-background-link .td-header-container {
cursor: pointer;
}
Remove the previous code and enter the one above.
Thanks
Hi,
In most cases the issue is caused by one of the cases below.
Could be caused by insufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In this case the hosting provider should be able to increase them.
Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/
Also if you use Wordfence try to set it on learning more
– https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/
If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
We will try to find a solution for full compatibility regarding the tagDiv composer and WPML. Sorry again for any inconvenience.
It is true that the theme does not support RTL. The design is not optimized for a RTL environment, so there will be various problems in this case.
When creating a RTL website it would be best to use a theme that has been created with this in mind, or has support for RTL. I can’t say I know how I can be of help unfortunately.
Thanks
Hi,
@perspektive You can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will take a look. Provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Mention how we can recreate the issue on your website, what steps to take. Please include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Are they auto ads? That would explain why they appear randomly in the website. If you want the ads to appear only in the ad spots, use adsense ads with defined placement. That would be the solution.
Hi,
Forgot to ask, you want this for the homepage modules or in the post pages?
Hi,
So the errors appear when you change that setting in the page settings, when you set it to hide featured posts? If you set it to show there are no errors? Where exactly are the errors appearing?
Does this happen if you make a quick test with a new page? What about if you try while having only theme plugins active and then change the setting the same way?
Hi,
I checked the test website you mention – http://prntscr.com/lj6mu1
Seems to still use 4.6 but the thumbnails are visible. We tried to recreate this issue on our end but without success.
So basically you updated the theme and installed a plugin (any plugin) and the issue begun to happen. What plugin did you deactivate now? The images are loading from what I can see.
Try to update again, this time try by FTP. Delete the theme folder from the WordPress themes folder and upload the new one.
Any details you can provide are helpful, so we can investigate more if there is a problem. Please let us know.
Thanks
I wish the same to you! glad I could help.
Regarding the forum, we made some modifications and for a while some forum capabilities were limited. But everything is working now same as before.
Hi,
There were some modifications to the forum made today, everything should be back to normal at the moment. Please try again and sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
1. Forgot to mention it, if you use the mobile theme CSS code has to be entered in the mobile section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/JSSPRX3Nxzu
That it should work.
2. The mobile theme will not use the same font settings from desktop. It will load predefined fonts, this is for performance. The mobile doesn’t have font settings or many settings overall, loading additional fonts will affect the loading speed.
3. Do you maybe have a white color set here? – https://www.screencast.com/t/Vfqud5V6IbY
That would make the underline invisible against a white background color. Please check this.
Glad you sorted out some of the problems.
Besides installing the mobile theme plugin there would be no other solution to speed up the website on mobile.
The same page content will be loaded on mobile if the plugin is inactive, so using an average or low internet connection speed it will take more time to load everything
– https://www.screencast.com/t/3FdXZdxYPM
Also I see that there could be a problem with the thumbnails. Try to regenerate them with the plugin mentioned in this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Then edit the homepage and check what image sizes are used by the flex blocks
– https://www.screencast.com/t/eH79VV7j2
Use a lower or the lowest image size defined there. No point in loading big images for small modules. That should reduce the page size.
The analytics code for AMP has to be of this form in order for it to work properly
– https://www.screencast.com/t/vJ78X7rUL
There is a tooltip when the question mark is hovered.
Hi,
So that issue is present only in that post page? Something must be wrong with the post. Maybe something you entered in the post content.
Did you enter HTML for example in the post content? Or and ad code maybe. If you did please check if the tags are set correctly. An tag not closed for example could cause problems.
I could take a look if that is not the case. Provide a link to that post if possible.
Thanks
Hi,
That would explain it. How exactly is this structure made? Navigating from a category page to the post, the expected path would be /category/post name for example.
So accessing a post from here – http://ctt.staging.wpengine.com/category/gym-top-rope-climbing/
Should display breadcrumbs accordingly in the post. But while in the post at the moment higher up is a page, not the category archive. I haven’t seen this before.
Hi,
Those aren’t available in the theme. Maybe consider using a plugin to display additional socials in the website. That would be the easiest method. Try and install a few social plugins, that have the required networks. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
What if you export the td_011 table maybe – https://www.screencast.com/t/b3cR2lqq
Then import it in the other database. You could give it a try. Make a backup before to be safe.
Hi,
That content is not responsive from what I can see. The container has a fixed width at all times. I could give you a code that you can enter in the phones section in the Theme panel-> Advanced CSS
.bosu {
width: 100%;
}
Result – https://www.screencast.com/t/90mrxsHhrT3r
Thanks
Hi,
There are a few suggestions you could try. First thing to investigate would be plugins. Make a quick test, deactivate them all except theme plugins. Check if this solves the problem.
Next please check if the theme requirements are met
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed ask your hosting provider to adjust the parameters mentioned in the guide.
Remember to add the code provided at the bottom of the guide in the htaccess file. Doing this solved composer issues
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/page-error-when-edit-with-td-composer/
In some cases when the composer wasn’t working properly the issue was fixed with this suggestion
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
If there is still a problem, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
If you use a cloud post template it will be possible. For default post templates it is not possible.
These are the default post templates – https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
These are the cloud post templates – https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
Import a cloud post template, it will open in the tagDiv composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/KxBbTuOCxP
When using a cloud post template the sidebar has to be set in the composer itself, by dragging the elements you want in the sidebar space for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XhqfONiLgO
So you can drag the newsletter element in the post template.
Cloud post templates will appear both in the theme panel general settings
– https://www.screencast.com/t/lauoCjc6x2l
They will also appear in the post edit screen
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ZgyViGZ1x
So all this requires is that you use a cloud post template for the post. Import the one you like, then add the newsletter element in it. Apply it for the posts you want. Let me know if you need help with anything.
Thanks
Hi,
I tried your Instagram ID on my end, everything is in order
– http://prntscr.com/lj43k3
In your case it will not work however, because of the theme version currently used by the website (7.5). Quite a while back Instagram made changes on their end, we had to make modifications in the theme to keep Instagram working in the theme
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ttURQasl2oN
Changelog for each theme update at the bottom of this page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Actually with the theme version used there will be problems with most of the socials. Most have modified this or that so we had to adapt. There were many modifications made and new features introduced since that version.
You should consider to update the theme to the latest version 9.1. This is an update guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Be sure to make a backup before updating, to be safe.
In case you cannot update for the moment and only wish to have a working Instagram, you could try the solution provided at the time for the widget, before the theme was updated
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/social-counter-and-instagram-problem/
Thanks
Hi,
Something is unusual in the website you provided. The container size is not how it is supposed to be
– https://www.screencast.com/t/mBsmYsVVrU7
Did you maybe make modifications in this matter? Forcing the container to a higher or lower value would result in a broken layout. Wider layouts can be achieved with the tagDiv composer and row stretch setting
– https://www.screencast.com/t/odokEN4DvdEB
The composer can be used to design almost everything. Pages, post templates, category templates etc. This is possible if the cloud library plugin is active
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Here you can preview and even edit the available templates created by us
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/All
If you want to design your own, there is a blank template provided in each category of templates.
Without the forced container stretch the grid would look like this
– http://prntscr.com/lj3w3i
The image on the right in the grid is almost of the required size for the grid. In my case with the same image this is the result
– http://prntscr.com/lj3ynr
The thumbnail is not created properly in your case, a regeneration should fix it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
It still wont fill the module fully however. I could force it to fill the module, but the image may be distorted.
Maybe consider using a top grid that has smaller modules, for example
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-5/
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-7/
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-8/
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-10/
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/grid-11/
When using default category templates the top grid can be changed in the theme panel, for each category. For example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/shOmGycyhh1f
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
These would be the styles available for big grids
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
I believe you are referring to style 6 (lightsky) which uses a background color with opacity over the images, also a rollover effect.
I tested with a mac and Safari browser, the lightsky effect seems to work same as in Chrome or Firefox. I believe the mac uses High Sierra OS and latest Safari that comes with it.
If you don’t want a lightsky effect and opacity maybe consider to use a flex grid, Flex grid 2 is similar to big grid 1
– http://prntscr.com/lj3rb6
You can center the post meta, and the result is the same as big grid style 6, with no opacity and lightsky.
Thanks
Hi,
The next theme update will feature a true lazy load implementation. It is currently in development and will be included when the next update will be released.
Thanks
