I uninstalled the old theme and then downloaded & installed the latest version of Newspaper from ThemeForest but it doesn’t seem to have worked?
It doesn’t seem to show the 4 across problem now but instead it shows the Big Grid 1 layout but without the top right section?
Not sure what to do.

I crawled the page and found out, that there are some 404 errors. I’ve looked into it and found out, that all of the pages that are turning the 404 are pages wrongly paginated. Let’s take an example of page of category “gadgets” – https://www.startingthingsup.com/category/inspirations/kickstarter-daily/gadgets/
This page should not be paginated, however you can actually open it’s “second page”

In page 2 source you can find a referral to the next page <link rel=”next” href=”https://www.startingthingsup.com/category/inspirations/kickstarter-daily/gadgets/page/3/”>
And the problem is, that this page should NOT be paginated. This problem appears in 3 more category pages…

Thank you for your example. For the moment we do not have such a system in place. It is up to the developers to decide if we will implement a request form such as the one you exemplify. Until such time we can only add the requests to our list and pass the info on to the dev’s. They decide what gets implemented and what doesn’t.

No, right answer: the whole idea is to move away from “theme shortcodes” and use agnostic shortcodes not tied to themes. Theme shortcodes based on CSS have nothing to do with VC. Speaking as a 22 year wevdev, and 12 year WordPress dev.
Again – plenty of very simple plugins which allow you to add custom shortcodes to the editor, for things like the typical Bootstrap style buttons, wells, panels, alert boxes, etc. — all these plugins do is add some additional CSS for you for the styles you wish.
Frankly, if you learn to code with WP, you can even very simply add your own CSS shortcodes and functions in the functions.php file. There are even online shortcode generators you can use, like so: https://generatewp.com/shortcodes/
However – to make my point:

I want to create my site two different languages. I know that TagDiv’s Newspaper theme do support Hindi language but how to display it on the same domain without assigning any subdomain or new folder?
To describe what I mean to say- Here is a gif:
This gif is created from https://www.wittyfeed.com/ ; this site gives an option to select among three languages. The remarkable part is no matter what language you choose; it doesn’t change or redirect you to a separate subdomain or folder. The domain remains same. Only the content and their language change. How does it happen? How can I do it on my site as well?

Hi,
I’ve version 7.8 with WP Super Cache and Mobile Theme active.
Not all posts are taking the mobile theme. The posts are pretty much the same, so I don’t understand why. Here are 2 examples:
This is working ok (open in a mobile, it will display the optimized mobile layout)

I have a problem with pagination – I’ve found out using on-page.org that I have some 404’s on my site that are linked from other internal sites. For example:

I checked the source and it has a link to the next page:

I think, that it might be connected to the theme that is used there – Newspaper.
Please, can you help me solving this case? I really have no idea what to do…

Thanks for the great template, I’ve been using it for a few years and I’m really happy about it. The latest updates make it even better to use. Also appreciate the tons of documentation and visual examples.
I’m currently thinking of changing my template and I was wondering if there is an option to set a maximum width for a post/page to avoid the text to be stretch on larger screen like MBP Retina (making the content difficult to read).
If I use a sidebar on a post/page there is no problem as there is already a max width set by default apparently. But if I remove the sidebar (in the option) I ended up with a very strech text.

I know I can edit the code to set a max width directly, but I was wondering if there’s an option in the theme to do it already (so I have no worries when I update the theme). And if not it will probably be a good addition.
The main reason for me to getting rid of the sidebar is now almost 60% of my traffic is mobile and people don’t see it/use it (not to mention it will slow the the display for mobile user). Thanks for reading and have a great day!

That was a suggestion to check the theme status, because this could be the cause for example changes not saving or applying. Maybe that was not the case in this situation. Thank you for your appreciation. The only available ad spots at the moment are in the ones in Theme panel->Ads.
There are no options to use ads in the category page and tag page except for the ones that you can use in the sidebars. You can have a sidebar for each of the categories – https://www.screencast.com/t/cWi36ghUN one for the tag page – https://www.screencast.com/t/zToAyGogVY and also one for the attachment page

In these sidebars you can use ad box elements with custom ads for example

These templates for the categories and tags are predefined, and do not have any other ad related options by default. If you want like to implement different ads in these templates it would require to modify the theme files.

Borders are added with css. Our theme does not have any option to add borders from the theme settings soi they will have to be made custom using css code. It depends on where you want the borders as the code is different for each spot in particular.

Please note that the more posts are assigned to specific tags, they will automatically be resized to reflect this, there is nothing special about the tag cloud element in the demo. For example the “art” tag has one post – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/tag/art/ and the “wordpress” tag has many more – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/tag/wordpress/ and this is reflected in the tag size.

Is there any way to control the rotation of ad banners? For example, I now insert “—” in-between several ads I have, it works, but the rotation is sporadic – approx. one change of banner every 5th refresh of the page.
What can you suggest, so that I could make next banner to show up with each page refresh?

Any widget added in a sidebar will appear only where that sidebar is used. Add the widget to the sidebar you want and use that on the homepage.
When there is a background set, that is the way the background appears on the row in the page container. If the website would not be boxed it would stretch to full width. You could use some css in this case like in this example – https://www.screencast.com/t/8cYjTfO39zez or add a custom class to that row and use that in the code.
Please make sure to enter the code in Advanced Css so it does not affect smaller devices.
