Hello,
I have two problems and I think, both of them is related with each other.
1- Sliders are not working regularly. Slider’s timing doesn’t operate and headers of each post overlapped. It did suddenly, I don’t know why it was. Also, you can see the problem, the half of image is applied effect. But, It also prevents to click to post. You can see the problem here in first slider: https://www.gastesehir.com/yazarlar and second slider similarly in homepage.
2- Now, in any posts, there is no featured image in template style 7. What can be its reason? First, some images cropped half yesterday, today I cannnot see any image in any posts. You can see the sample from here: https://www.gastesehir.com/haber/ressam-bozcali-sergisi-icin-taha-toros-arsivi/
I read many articles in Newspaper forum and tried some css codes. Also, I looked to something in caches and Lazyload fade effects. But, I can’t succeed.
If you clarify what my problem is I’ll be really glad.
Thanks in advance,
Example link ?
I just updated my Newspaper 6 theme to the latest version with the latest version of wordpress and I am using the sample child theme that I downloaded from themeforest. I am getting css warnings of unexpected css tokens and invalid property declarations, and the image zoom feature on the big grid blocks doesn’t work in Safari. The image zoom works in Chrome and Firefox, but when I hover over the big grid images in Safari, they don’t zoom at all.
Looking at some of the warnings, there seems to be errors in the CSS syntax in the core theme code. I don’t get any warnings in Chrome or Safari.
You can check out the site here: http://www.nationofchange.org/news
Actually …
what would be really cool is if TagDiv support could give example of using the built in tagdiv icon font to possibly have example of adding a simple email icon and print icon each wrapped in the html to launch those with classic html, and how to add to the social plugin section ?
Not terribly hard, but not everyone needs the print function anymore since it’s built in to all web browsers.
Anyway…. this plugin might work as it just adds the print me function vs installing all sorts of funky libraries
https://wordpress.org/plugins/print-o-matic/
Frankly “print to PDF” with a more complex plugin would be more useful than print to paper for most folks these days.
Hey there..
I’m planning on password protecting some of my posts.
Example: http://mackmethods.com/subscribers/how-to-pass-shit-tests/
I would like to display a unique image underneath the password field, basically instructing people to opt in in order to get a password sent to them (I’ll most likely use leadpages for this)..
Is this possible?
Also, for some reason the sidebar is displaying twice on my homepage.
Any idea what might be causing this?
The homepage posts are also being displayed twice as well (just using 2 different block types).
I would like remove the ones at the bottom (the larger image block type posts)..
Let me know & thanks in advance.
Hey, this is very helpfull and with this examples you’ve provided I belive I will be fine on my own tuning everything to my desire. I have all css classes I need.
Thanks for all the help.
Hello matijakurusic,
Unfortunately, our theme hasn’t been designed to have this style that you have presented above. You can get this style, but it is necessary to know a bit of CSS to make this customization. Below I gave you an example for a block/module on my page. Please check this code and try to implement for your website. It is not a simple task and is required more time to achieve as you wish. If you are not aware of all steps wich you will have to follow, we recommend hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide custom work for the moment, sorry.
.td-module-thumb img {
border-radius: 20px!important;
}
.td-main-content-wrap {
background-color: lightgrey;
}
.td_block_wrap {
padding: 20px;
background: #FFF;
margin-bottom: 20px;
border-radius: 2px;
border-bottom: 2px solid #e8e8e8;
}
.td_block_wrap .td-next-prev-wrap, .td_block_wrap .td-load-more-wrap {
margin-bottom: -7px;
}
The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/msnGzJsZ
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the message!
At the Yoast SEO plugin installed.

Hey, thank you for help.
Yes basicly I wanna make it look similar to this: http://prntscr.com/9hmdm7
http://goo.gl/P9MvtZ
You see how every element/block have its own ‘white space’ container, slightly rounded corners and bottom (i think) 1px shadow. Very elegant.
Even better example here http://goo.gl/MsYZZE …every little block is in its own white container while there is grey lines from the background between them.

For Example
if yoast seo og image activated = true
“delete default metatag”
else
“”
Hello matijakurusic,
This module does not have a specific class for the background. By default, this background is transparent one and takes the background color of the main container, like this:
.td-container {
background-color: red;
}
The result: http://screencast.com/t/GkhkjExE1eKr
or
.td_module_16 {
background-color: red;
}
The result: http://screencast.com/t/OtNtkZWEvf
For your second request, you should use padding-bottom for to make difference between modules/blocks, like this:
http://screencast.com/t/xBRSPy7jG
.td_module_16 {
padding-bottom: 70px;
}
Also, for your third request, you have to use paddings and margins, like this:
http://screencast.com/t/drTuwyEH -> Here you can see an example. You should adjust this advice to your website.
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I can be able to provide a more accurate response.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
Ok i no longer need this … what i want is to have current menu/active menu this color >> #d13030
also for hover same color >>> #d13030
so i applied
.sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
color: #d13030 !important;
}
which works fine for hover …. but soon i select a menu which becomes the active menu …. it doesnt stay red >>> color: #d13030
please advice
in panel theme colors ACTIVE & HOVER COLOR only changes the small line under menu ….. not the menu itself … so i have this set to transparent ….
thanks
Hello Rasken,
Please tell me what kind of header style do you use? I need to know this because depends then I try to change the color of the hover and the classes are different.
If you are using header style to default, you should try the code below to change the hover color, like this:
.menu-item-913:hover {
background-color:red;
}
The result: http://screencast.com/t/qeroQ2Ml2
If you are using, for example header style 3, it is a bit more complicated because appear a lot of classes, like this:
.td-header-style-3 .black-menu .sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a, .td-header-style-3 .black-menu .sf-menu > .current-menu-ancestor > a, .td-header-style-3 .black-menu .sf-menu > .current-category-ancestor > a, .td-header-style-3 .black-menu .sf-menu > li > a:hover, .td-header-style-3 .black-menu .sf-menu > .sfHover > a {
background-color: red!important;
}
The result: http://screencast.com/t/Lweewp77j
As default font, our theme use ‘Roboto’ and ‘Open Sense’.
For more information about pagespeed, please check our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
About your second request, you can try to do minification to style.css to improve your website speed. We do not recomend this thing because it is possible to appear some errors in our theme but you can try to do this. We have reports about this that function properly. As reference, you should check this tutorial http://screencast.com/t/lgzXo4l8iG and also you should find a plugin to do this for you.
You can do a quick search through the forum to see other tools you can use: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/minify/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi
Sorry, I indicated a wrong link above. In order to register a new thumb please folow tis link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_thumbadd/ You should add a new thumb with a square format. The thumb should the width and height properties equals, like i this example:
td_api_thumb::add('td_200x200',
array(
'name' => 'td_200x200',
'width' => 200,
'height' => 200,
'crop' => array('center', 'top'),
'post_format_icon_size' => 'small',
'used_on' => array(
'Module 77', 'Block 77'
)
)
);
Thanks!
Hello,
The theme excerpts offer control over the length of the title and the length of the excerpt. In words or in letters. You can read more about how to use excerpts here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/excerpts-introduction/
If by any chance you use a language that does not use spacing after a word like for example Japanese or Korean
(I could be wrong about these languages but you get the idea) then an entire post will be considered a single word as it has no spacing. In this case you need to limit your excerpts by letters.
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello CodeisCode,
I suppose that you want to disable the link to post when you are hovering on the big grid image. To achieve this thing, please try the code below and place it in Theme->Custom Css area.
http://screencast.com/t/naLWJyYFW
.td_block_big_grid_3 {
pointer-events:none;
}
The result: http://screencast.com/t/5CtVdX5pE5
This is an example for big-grid 3. If you are using another big grid you have to use the corresponding class for the grid.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about this, so I can be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thank you for the message!
Hello! there,
I really love your product and it helps us a lot!
However, I’m a rookie and some questions about CSS.
1. What’s the difference between style.css & editor-style.css?
If I want to add the css code into css file, which one should I add the code into?
blockquote {
font-style: normal;
}
2. add some new styles
Because my editors want me to do some adjustment in style, I need to do some work in CSS.
If I want to add some styles based on CSS rule, which file should I start to update?
Our website: http://3media.tw
Thanks~
Gabriel
Hello –
I notice that your smart list has a featured image when viewed in the category but it is hidden on the post itself. How did you achieve this?
For example:
iPad pro post – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/tagdiv-technology/tagdiv-gadgets/page/2/
actual post has no featured image – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/apple-ipad-pro-review-powerful-ipad-experience/
Similarly, Smartlist style 4 shows a featured image in the category – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/tagdiv-lifestyle/tagdiv-recipes/
but no featured image on the post – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/smart-list-style-4/
Thanks!
Hi, I am trying to figure out which class name has the (for example) module 16 for its background?
1. It is similar to this example:
.td_module_14 .td-module-meta-holder {
background-color: rgba(255,255,255, 0.9);
}
instead of the ” .td-module-meta-holder ” there has to be a class for module background? How is it called?
2. Also I need to know class name for inside-distance between module and block, because I am trying to make that distance smaller and transparent while the module contain its new background color form issue No.1.
3. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am trying to make a gap between blocks (same time preserving module image sizes) so that a page background image can be visible between all blocks while the modules stay with their given background colors.
Something like this: http://prntscr.com/9hhsm5
There, on the picture, you can notice some nice gaps between elements/blocks while the modules inside contain the ‘white’ background color.
I would like to do the same with Newspaper theme, but at the moment it seems imposible without these css classes.
Or there is another CSS method?
Thanks
Hi, I’m trying to figure out which CSS rules I should edit to make a proper alignment between the amazon affiliate link and the following text.
Here you can see what I’m talking about: http://www.gadgetsvirali.com/penna-stampante-3d-per-disegni-stereoscopici-le-migliori
As you can see, below the images, inside the image caption I’m used to put the Amazon affiliate code followed by some text. In the previous theme I had no problem, once I installed this theme, the text goes below the affiliate link, as you can see here in this screenshot http://snag.gy/BaqVq.jpg deleting the Amazon img code it shows up properly but I’m not supposed to touch the Amazon affiliate link.
If you visit the page on mobile devices the issue gets worse: http://snag.gy/u3lnK.jpg
How can I align the affiliate link and the text?
Thanks,
Alessandro
I’m running Newspaper 4.0.2 (I know there are newer versions, it’s just that I have my site exactly the way I want it already and I don’t want to mess it up).
I recently upgraded my site from http to https. Now, when I try to save the Theme Panel, it doesn’t work, and this error comes up in the Chrome JS console:

Can I reply my domain privately?
I’m still having issues finding the correct classes/id’s for the menu items.
Basically what I want to do is have one of the menu items become for example green when hovering on it and the rest should be red when hovering.
I found this “menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-has-children td-menu-item td-normal-menu menu-item-134” as a class but it did not work with
.menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-has-children td-menu-item td-normal-menu menu-item-134 a:hover{
color: #00ff00;
background-color: #00ff00;
}
in the custom CSS theme settings.
I also tried only using .menu-item-134 with the same css code after that.
Thanks for the answer and Happy Holidays!
BONUS QUESTION: What is the default font that you are using?
BONUS QUESTION 2: What happend with the theme speed? I was under the impression that it was supposed to be very fast, it only gets 31/100 from google pagespeed now…all my plugins are disabled.
If you manually paste a long excerpt into the excerpt box, that tends to “over ride” the default excerpt length in some places like the archives.
Otherwise, you can set the excerpt length for most things from theme panel for the blocks/widgets and templates.
I’m sure TagDiv will have better answer — but perhaps you could point to a specific example.
Theme handles excerpts very very well, speaking as a 2-year user of the theme on multiple sites (I don’t work here).
