Can you please also answer, how can I increase the number of displayed posts on category/tags page? I think it cuts off after 10 posts. How can I update this default number to 30?

One last question and after this my page will be ready to go. On my homepage ( http://siasibaat.com/ ) I am using a third party plugin to display posts in 2 columns ( latest talk shows section ). For some reason the theme blocks do not work on ( 3/4 + 1/4 or 2/3 + 1/3) layouts. I have pasted a couple of examples of Block 6 and 8 on top of the page. Can you please take a look and suggest if there is any way I can display posts in two columns using themes block like they are shown in Latest Talk Shows Secions ( with green buttons).

I think you can comment that out in the module/block file.

I comment out the breadcrumbs in the search module for example.

Thanks again for your feedback, I clarify my question: when I download all files & documentation on ThemeForest. one included a folder named “patch_1.0_1.1” My question is: where to put files containing that folder.

Where it gets really confusing is that HTML5 actually suggested using more than one h1 on a page, such as having containers (think a parallax page for example), to denote the primary heading for a section inside a semantic container, such as the primary headline for a section on one page about the company, versus how to contact company. However, Google/Bing have said they prefer *one* H1 on page which is the defacto “title” for page, and is used with the meta title in SERPS. h2 can be used as “big section headers” on a page multiple times, h3 then used a subordinate headers for anything which is not a “major” section. h4 and h5 often used for tiny things, but are less common though semantically correct to use in place of a bold/strong tag for some things. Again, think of it as an identifier that it’s a “header” versus something offset in bold for effect.

However, the desired result was to show the categories expanded when the post was from that category. For example the post above was is from Horoscop 2014, that has 12 subcategories. Your code only shows the main categories everywhere, although the subcategories IDs were mentioned in the code.

Not to mention that although it wasn’t mentioned with its ID, the ”Featured” category is shown by default, which is also an undesireded result.

At the end of the day I’m going to revert all the changes to the files, and delete the categories widget. I hope you’ll consider implementing in a future update of the theme this funtionality by default in the theme. After all, your theme is targeted to heavy-content based sites, and the ability to show smartly the categories in the default wordpress categories widget is a must in my opinion.

Thank you for all the explanations, but I’m not very happy that after all these changes I ended up deleting that widget. Again, please strongly consider making this a default behaviour in your theme in a future update.

Wellllll….. weird thing is that it works with some mobile things, and doesn’t with some other things. Helps to be VERY specific to get quicker replies.

So, the arrow jump to top works fine on, for example, my iPad air in portrait mode (Safari/iOS); it works fine in Chrome/iOS on iPad. (Hey, that’s a mobile device!)

However, “up arrow” *is* missing on, say, the iPhone 6 in portrait mode and landscape.

SUGGESTION (HEY RADU!):
Likely Radu O. might want to add the blue up arrow as a “centered” button below the right sub footer menu, centered, for the @media size for iPhone/other phones. Not sure it’s a bug … but there is an up arrow on iPhone with Newspaper theme, there is not in Newsmag.

Yeah.. it’s a stupid security thing to keep certain kinds of things loading into a browser from different domains; ran into that with revamp of our main business website last year.

Adding the CORS setting at the CDN is pretty easy if they have the help on how to do it; or have instruction on how to “load everything except fonts” to the CDN.

Where can i place this code?

theme uses a custom font for all the little icons which is more efficient than loading a graphic a million times with CSS (sprites). E.g., using FontAwesome or similar. What you’re seeing is the font not loading and hence you get “broken” icons that look like [].

The only issue with this is that for folks using a CDN, there is a cross-site security setting that most people using CDNs don’t know anything about unless they have run into this before.

In fact, there is a setting you would need to create for the font file if loading off the CDN, called a “CORS” file. You should see the docs for your CDN on how to do this.

Or, simply load the custom font file off your local server – which with many CDNs you do by creating an “exception” in your CDN setup to NOT load the font file(s) on the CDN and leave on the domain where the site happens to be. This will often be simpler method for those who don’t want to deal with setting up a CORS file.

Great article from 2013 which helped me with this issue when we were setting up a CDN; we had to create CORS entry. Later we chose to simply load off our local server (where the domain and WP are installed): (THIS EXAMPLE IS FOR AMAZON, BUT SIMILAR PRACTICE WOULD APPLY TO ALL CDNs):

So, I received your file, but haven’t been able to import it. I keep receiving the following error:

“File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.”

Now this seems to be an issue that indicates the PHP setup is inadequate for what I’m trying to do. This is how PHP is setup on 1&1 wordpress accounts:

I think the problem is with those settings.

I’m on a shared 1&1 account, but I have manually installed the normal wordpress (not using the 1 click installer). I can upload a php.ini. However I am not allowed to use SSH in order to make an uploaded php.ini recursive, which means that I have to manually upload a php.ini to wherever the importer does something. Since I do not know where that may be, I have gone ahead and copied a php.ini to any place that has .php files and even some additional ones (like upload folder).

This is how my php.ini looks:

I still get the same error though, so I have tried a few other things:

1. Changing the .htaccess file to include the change to php limits -> leads to the site being offline, giving me an error 500 page.

2. Using various other php.ini files with different code snippets from various sites and wordpress threads -> Same error, still no cigar.

3. Uploading a gzip file -> I receive a no WXR XML data error message.

4. Allowing czip compression in php.ini and uploading the zip -> Memory exceeded = Memory error on line 460 in some .php file leading me to believe that this isn’t gonna work out either.

Now 1&1 suggests for me to get Cygwin and mirror my folder setup and then just tinkering around more with my php.ini, so that I at least do not have to find every single php.ini and manually change it to a newer version. They were of the opinion that my php.ini looks fine and it should work. They also swear to me, that I have the rights needed for adding the php.ini (meaning it should be effective).

I am running out of patience here and still haven’t come one bit closer to being able to actually import the .xml I received.

Does anybody have any idea as to what I am doing wrong here or what else I could try in order to finally get a successful import of the full demo content?

Your 3rd fix doesnt solve my problem. I just need 1 copyright text line (like my example). No menu’s involved….
