Is anyone else having issues with Visual Composer and WordPress 3.8?

Whenever I try to add/modify a link in an existing text block in Visual Composer, the dialog to add a link will pop up and the text behind it in the block become blank and causes erroneous paragraph lines to be inserted into the block. It’s very frustrating.

I hope I can explain this correctly.

When I write a review or a blog posting how do I make the size that is being displayed a specific size with a “click here to read more”. Does this make sense?

I have a couple of reviews that are quite lengthy and when you click on reviews it will take you to all the reviews, but you have to click on the title to see everything including the score ratings.

So, is there a way to adjust the postings so that you see all the posts under that category and lets say there are 5 lines for each posting and then you have to click something to see the entire posting.

I hope this makes sense. The site is in beta at the moment and isn’t live (just a coming soon page) to be viewed. If an example is needed I will piece together some screenshots.

I would like to have Facebook like & share, send button on top and bottom page. Similar of this.

But now is Newspaper template cropping Facebook button on page.
Of course page is cropping any others social plugin. See pics.

I really would like to optimize where I can. I use pretty large images on the site ( I know that), and I really would not like to compress them any more.

How do I?
A) Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
– can I move javascript below the fold?

B) Leverage browser caching.
– I have FB and twitter buttons on the site, does this slow it down a lot?

C) Expiring Header.
– I am pretty confused about how much I could “save” By doing it

When I optimize something and test the site I get the same results.
Does GPS cache results?

I have noticed today that websites in authors bio aren’t displayed. Why is that?

Moreover, I prefer the social profiles of the authors to open in a new tab. Not in the same window. Let me know how to do that.

I want to ask if there is an option to have the review system only displayed at the last page of an review? For example, if I write an review using the nextpage feature, it’s not that great to have the rating already at the first page.

I didn’t find answer by myself, so I ask community: Does Newspaper has ability to create Custom sidebar for determined category/plugin. For example: to create a custom sidebar for bbpress forum. This sidebar should display widgets only for forum/topic/replies pages.

Hi Everyone.. I just updated to 2.1 and now i am having an issue inside the visual editor. When I try to add any h tags to my text it creates an h tag around the entire sentence. If I manually add it to the area I want in the text editor and then tab back to the visual editor it changes the placement of the h tag to include the whole sentence again.

So far it is only doing it with the h tags that I have tested. Other elements such as bold and italics are working fine.

Anyone have similar issues and know how to fix?

example:
Places I have been: Australia, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Montana, Texas, Florida, and Mexico.

Try to add h2 tag to “Places I have been:” but it adds the h2 tag to the entire sentence.

If I code it manually the way i want it… it changes it when I go back to the visual editor.

any advice would be appreciated. thanks!!!

I’m sure this is simple but I can’t figure out how to filter the Latest Articles that appear on the home page by a particular category.

I notice that under Homepage Loop Feature there is the option “Multiple categories filter”. It this what it used to determine which categories appear in the Latest Articles on a home page?

What I don’t know is where to find my category IDs? I have pasted in a category name for example “Filmmaking Tutorial” and it’s slug “filmmaking-tutorial” but it doesn’t limit the latest articles to just that category.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help, this is driving me absolutely crazy.

The images on my site load up… and then disappear after 10 seconds. I’m running Firefox & Chrome on Mavericks (mac)

I tried disabling all the plugins to see if it would help… but nothing.

Ahhh!

Sometimes it takes up to 20 seconds for the images to start disappearing.
