Thank you for your response.
Maybe I can modify an existing element to make it use my shortcode? My goal is to display dynamic content in addition to the default content that will appear in this module (title, excerpt, image, date) inside a loop
For example, the “Column Title” element from “Multipurpose shortcodes”—where can I find the PHP file or code to modify it? I have tried searching in td-composer folder without success.
Thank you

Hello,

Unfortunately, you can not add a custom shortcode in the module templates. This module is like a flex block. For example, it is only for design, not functionality.

Thank you!

It terrifies me to know how long this has been going on. My header explodes on Safari, Firefox, and Chrome when I am not logged into my site and am on a tagDiv page other than the home page. Below is an example but most pages are a mess. As you start to scroll down the header explodes. https://www.bcworldview.org/authors/

I’m currently using the Official AMP plugin along with the tagDiv mobile theme. While editing the mobile menu, I’ve noticed that the bottom area of the menu is being trimmed, likely due to the mobile device’s navigation bar, which includes the back and home buttons. Could you advise on how to resolve this issue to ensure the full menu is visible and not obscured by the device’s bottom bar?

Hello,
i would like to create a site where you can search for certain pois, for example, cafes or restaurants.
Is this supportet in any theme for newspaper? What would be the best way to accomplish this? It should be searchable by city, zipcode (search surrounding) and name

Hello!

We have 3 options available for mobile versions that you can use:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.

Thank you!

Hello, we have the following problem with our site:
vitals1

and additionally:
vitals2

I understand that a lot of the style rules are used for other devices and for that are deemed unnecessary by the google report (when checked in pc).

But, is there a way to better the score? A simple suggestion from them, for example, is to not have a media=”all” attribute since it is considered render-blocking (for the report). So, could this be done or would it affect anything? And if yes, from where? Could it be removed or changed to media=”screen” maybe?

And could there be any additional suggestions/fixes that we could implement? Thank you!

Kind regards,

Hi,

I’m unsure if this is a Newspaper theme issue or a WordPress update issue, but since updating to WordPress 6.6 the theme’s post settings panel seems to be in the way.

For example, when adding a hyperlink to text, when I try to click the edit link button it should show a panel allowing me to select open in a new window. Since the update, the link settings panel has been opened behind the post settings panel. The only way I can get around it is to press return/enter to add additional blocks to give the panel space.

See image below:

Hidden Panel
Adding additional blocks

It’s the same when trying to add a new block underneath embedded videos or galleries. I can’t click in the space below to start a new paragraph, I have to add one further up the page and the block down below the embed.

Hello,
When the logo is clicked on desktop, the expected behaviour is to link to the home page. On desktop, that works fine,
However, when the website is viewed on a phone, the mobile logo links to a 404 page.
To reproduce, in mobile view, navigate to any page on site, for example:
https://www.compassmedia.ky/what-we-do/
When you click on the mobile logo, it takes you here:
https://www.compassmedia.ky/what-we-do/Compass%20Media
It appends the ‘site title’ to the url, rather than bring you to the home page.
How do I fix this?
Thank you,
Roman

https://gbsan.com
When I search ‘vahid’ in search bar 6 total results are shown.
While pressing ‘View all Results’ or ‘Search’ it is showing 5 results in result page.
Interesting thing is that it will remove the second result from first row.
This article has the search key word in it 3-4 times.
Please see quick video https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cZQhXGVRyOE
On the other hand a result shown in search has only 1 keyword and that is not in text but gallery image title, this is good that it is showing in results but why the other result is not showing.
I have cross check the module setting and also both articles are same, only content is changed and are in different category.
This is one example, I have checked with different keywords and this is there with those articles as well.

Can you please help me with this, if you need any further information please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Hello!

I can see that your website historyexamprep.com is working well.
Did you solve the issue?

Thank you!

Hi,

That’s not the AMP or the mobile theme version in your screenshot. That is the default responsive version. The mobile theme looks like this https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

If I check the website now on mobile, it looks fine https://prnt.sc/jpYD4-Xg_okz Also the mobile menu works fine https://prnt.sc/z50KdMW_WtVQ

Please mention more details about the issue, or how can I see it happening. I am sorry that there are issues with the theme. In most cases when there are issues with the images or the mobile menu, like in your screenshot, they are caused by other plugins.

Thank you!

Now I see the problem as well. Last time I checked the post content was displayed, but now it is not. Its not displayed in the mobile version and neither in the amp version. This is quite an unusual thing to happen.

I will take a closer look at it. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login for the website. I will investigate the problem.

Thank you!

Hi! I have a problem with the tag page.
For example this article: https://tipshub.ro/top-10-destinatii-de-neuitat-pentru-revelionul-2025-in-europa/
When i click on of the tags from this article, the tag page says no article to show.
Anybody have this situation? Thanks

Yeah – Google tried to basically create solution for problem where many of us had solution from early days when Google didn’t sell ads — which was “print friendly” page. Then they added all these stupid requirements – oh, you can’t load jscript here, oh you can’t load a font, oh, you can’t blah. So glad it’s dead. The insult of being forced to use /AMP to “ensure” visiblity in search was one of the reasons Google has turned to evil.

I have two websites built using the Newspaper theme, both utilizing the same cache plugin.

1. On one website, images load correctly using lazyload.min.js, even with JavaScript delay enabled in the cache plugin.
2. On the other website, images are loaded using jquery.min.js, but they fail to load when I enable JavaScript delay in the cache plugin. Images only appear when users scroll or click.

I understand that turning off the JavaScript delay would resolve the issue, but doing so would result in loading all JS files upfront, leading to Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and render-blocking issues. I’m puzzled as to why this behavior occurs despite using the same theme and plugins on both websites.

website 2, that has issue: historyexamprep.com

From time to time, the mobile version of the newspaper template is used while loading the website on laptop/pc browser. It’s on Firefox, but had it on other browsers too. Any recommendation to fix this issue as it’s getting on the nerves of some of my users.

I’m glad to hear that. I would have used AMP just for the SEO advantage, but if you say that he gave it up in 2023, I don’t even bother, and I don’t like the way it looks.
Thank you

I don’t work here but couple notes
a) theme does not control the /AMP plugin from WordPress
b) Google abandoned AMP in early 2023, so good to move on and no longer use it, as it might entirely stop working at some point
