Good day, Vlad,
504s are still appearing, and my server has these recommendations:

“I was looking further into your issue and saw admin ajax was hitting your site a lot. I ran a log to investigate this further and received the following:

3928 [action] => td_ajax_block
1722 [action] => save_pview_data
1170 [action] => td_ajax_loop
868 [action] => td_ajax_search
394 [action] => adblocker_detected
208 [action] => heartbeat
10 [action] => query-attachments
6 [action] => wp-remove-post-lock
2 [action] => save-attachment
2 [action] => revslider_ajax_action
I inspected the highest action further and it looks like your plugin td-composer is doing a lot of admin ajax requests. I would recommend optimizing that plugin to see if that relieves your 504 errors.”

Thanks

Hello,

I am trying to use an inline image like in the gourmet pro cookbook block. I am trying to make the image bigger, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have a problem with Flexblock 1 in the “nieuws en achtergrond” row on this page:
Page = https://seashore.nl/nieuw/homepage-test2/

In the Flexblock 1 element I have set the following:

Limit post number = 5
filter = nieuws
(number of “nieuws’ category items I have = 7
sort order = latest

Now,
1. it only shows 2 items from the “nieuws” category, not 5.
2. Those two items are the oldest, not the newest. And when I select “oldest”, it show the latest items (with the most recent item showing last in the row).

If I chose a different category, same problems.

What am I doing wrong here?

Cheers,
Martin.

Hi,

I have been using single page cloud templates successfully. However I am unable to use the cloud template blocks and sections. I assumed that once I download the cloud template blocks and sections, they will be available as elements and I can insert them when I edit any template using TD Composer, but I cannot see them there.

For example I want to insert https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_lifestyle_pro/hero-slide-lifestyle-pro/ on my homepage.

How do I do that? I could not find any tutorail for the inserting blocks and sections in the theme documentation.

Please help

Hello !

1. In order to create an account you will have to allow this option from wordpress: https://www.screencast.com/t/vnB5Tj9D And yes, they can customize their account.

2. Please follow our guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-newsletter-plugin/

3. Sure ! Here it is: .td-category-header .td-page-title {
color:Red;
}
The code must be inserted here: https://www.screencast.com/t/J1Nxw5s5

4. You will need blocks to render your posts. By editing the blocks using tagDiv composer you will be able to filter them: https://www.screencast.com/t/PZxfI3tap0 In order NOT to display an post you will have to insert its id using a negative in front. For example, -12.

5. That kind of list is most likely to be done by using a HTML coding, it should not be that hard but please note that this is not something that you will find plug and play in the Newspaper theme and it will require some medium coding skills.

Thank you !

How can I make sure that the page is not set in header or footer template?

The website is called escturkey.com and is currently on maintenance mode.
When I add something to a page, then it appears at the bottom of the home page.
Also when I add something to a page, it appears on different pages as well, not only on home page.

This is how the home page looks like:

<script async src=”//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

Hello !

For problem 1 you can set the image size from tagDiv Composer as you can see here and no matter what the image size will be you will be able to adjust it from there if needed: https://www.screencast.com/t/4YMCUJ5EFlbG

For the second problem you will have to insert the block in an empty ROW and edit the ROW background as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/RB0YvBla

Thank you !

How can you change the anchor texts for big grid and flex block elements?

They are showing as trivial anchor text and repeats itself?

But if I use a Flex Block, can I use it on the category template without defining a specific category? What would I set the category as?

Hello! Just noticed this today, but the thumbnails on Block 2 at the top of our homepage aren’t filling the space: https://www.tcu360.com/

Site is running Newspaper V 10.3.6.1.

The featured images are all wider than 2000px, so I don’t think that’s a problem. no updates or installs have happened recently that would interfere. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Is it possible to exclude by category or by tag in the flex block filters?

In Gourmet Pro, I want to change the picture of the “book” … it’s one of the blocks … it’s an image of a book.

I downloaded the demo image of the book and followed the dimensions and positioning of the book exactly when creating my own book image in Photoshop.

However, when I upload it to the site, the image of my book becomes much smaller. I’ve tried uploading a larger image but once placed into the “inline single image” block that is there, it automatically makes it smaller again. I’ve tried several sizes of image and every time I do it, the image becomes very small.

It looks like the inline block is only allowing a certain size image.

The default image that came with the demo is displaying much larger.

How to fix this?

My website: http://www.prüfungsfragen.de
I use the demo-theme: Royal Pub
I am a beginner.

1) Show “Modified Date” in posts
I would like to show the “Modified Date” on my posts. Therefore I activated “Show Modified Date” in the theme panel as shown here: https://prnt.sc/u93x1t
What else do I need to adjust, that the “Modified Date” will be displayed?

2) Show “Modified Date” in the same size and format as the “Article Date”
Alternatively I tried to add the “Modified Date” by inserting the Block “Single Post Modified Date” as shown here: https://prnt.sc/u93yjb

Could you give me please detailed instructions, how I can format the “Modified Date”, that the “Modified Date” will be shown in the same font, size and in the same row as the “Article Date”?

Hi,

Usually this issue is related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.

Also if you are using a pro demo, then the changes from theme panel will not affect the cloud templates, these can be edited only with tagDiv Composer.

If the problem persists, make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Let me know the results!
Thank you!

Hi,

You can achieve this using tagDiv Composer and these elements: flex block or flex grid, or a post loop and set a big number for Limit post number like 999, in this way it will not be needed to use pagination -> https://i.imgur.com/e0c13pc.png

Hi,

The theme is using thumbs to make the images to feed better in blocks and grids, but for a better control over the featured image size, you can use flex blocks and flex grids, on these you can choose the image size you like and is fit the best -> https://i.imgur.com/wGcnW9h.png

Hi,
If you are using WordPress v5.5, you must use the last version of Newspaper theme too, only this will work on this version of WordPress.
Also if you already have Newspaper 10.3.6.1 and you have this problem, then try the below steps:
1. Disable tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/uzBdRB9.png
2. delete tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/xGGfYE7.png
3. Reinstall tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/Ay0zJHn.png or -> https://i.imgur.com/ZMgV9at.png
4. Clear all cache from your website, host and browser ( for browser use force refresh Ctrl Shift R ).
Also make sure that all theme settings are as in our guide ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

Check if is not related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.

Also you can use the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper in some cases this can help you to make tagDiv Composer to work.

Make sure that is not a plugin conflict, please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins (theme plugins), also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Thanks, Calin

1) – for me, I cannot have both Blocks Library and Settings open at the same time. I am on a MacBook, but I think the same applied on my iMac

2) Yes – so one has to work harder, more clicks. Before, I could paste code into a block and the html is immediately recognised – WordPress have created more work for editors.

3) I am referring to WordPress wp-admin/post.php. Under Settings/Block/Colour settings, WordPress have arbitrarily changed the default colours. I used to select a light grey background, around #ededed. WP has changed this to dark grey, perhaps never considering that some users might be using the previous light grey. Consequently I have now to select custom colour and enter #ededed – more keystrokes for the editor

4) Mobile and tablet show reduced column size in the editor but if you select mobile or tablet then hit Preview, you always get a desktop preview, not mobile or tablet.

5) Yes, a retrograde step by WP – makes more work for the editor.

6a) It doesn’t work for me except within a single post. It won’t retain Most Used when I begin a new post. WP used to retain Most Used for new posts. But that stopped working for me long before 5.5, in an earlier version.

6b) Ok, thanks – I didn’t know WP had moved them.

Overall, I find 5.5, so far, to be worse than the previous but perhaps this will be resolved in an update.

But please do check none of these problems result from incompatibility between Newspaper and WP 5.5…

Mark
