Is there a specific cookie or argument used in that grid function that we can uncache for testing purposes?
Well, remember the “theme” is not slow with F Rating — your site/setup is. Two totally different things. You also need to test with adverts off.
You need to do all the stuff noted on GTmetrix for your setup, from time to live, to gzip, to regenerating your images with compression, limiting calls to outside sites as that all slows things down, if using avatar photos use a local gravatar plugin, make sure you have enough RAM allocated, try to avoid plugins that do popups or rolls downs, avoid large background images (anything over 40k will massively slow down a page), consider using web-safe fonts and NOT a bunch of Google fonts; don’t use child theme as it’s a redirect; make sure you’re using PHP 5.6 or higher with opcache turned on (5.4 is a dog and way out of date; 5.2/5.3 are obsolete and should not be used unless no other choice for old code — which doesn’t apply to WordPress). Stuff like that.
Don’t use the lazy load animation on your posts/pages – disable that ‘effect.’ Consider not using the extra modules like related/more from other, or story ‘more to read’ flyout.
Get a good baseline for streamlined site, good page score — then turn on bells and whistles, evaluate the performance hit, and make choices.
I just switched all my AdSense ads to text-only, as I got sick of the 20 stupid crappy image, cookies and poor optimization of Google’s 10 year old image serving system. Their own ad server doesn’t meet modern pagespeed requirements, so why use it?
For example: I just did an install here; starting speed with 78; regenerated all thumbs with a compression factor of 50; switched off Google fonts, and moved to text ads; speed went to 90 with ads ‘on’ ! All that stuff seriously adds up.
Not sure if any of that helps. I was early adopter of Newspaper, Newsmag, and WPion. So, kinda a dinosaur around here. You might find my ancient thread helpful in the documentation > tutorials > DIY > best of forums. Maybe not.
Anyway – I have a 90 score right now, with no caching plugin and have not yet compressed the main style.css or main .js files, which should gain couple of points right there.

I tried deactivating of all plugins and used wp-optimize – the paths in question are still accessible and index-able. These urls are not included in the sitemap. I hape only post sitemaps, post-tag sitemap and category sitemap. In the meantime duplicated content issues in the search console are counting.
I don’t have a caching plugin but use memcache and litespeed on the server (it’s a shared hosting). However I don’t think this has something to do with the problem.
I see that many sites have a similar issue:
https://www.google.bg/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=Gl1zWer0LqGz8weAj5eQBg&gws_rd=ssl#q=/wp-content/uploads/revslider/templates/
Any help will be much appreciated!
Should i activate ajax view count or not? im not using any cache plugins atm
I have tried dozens of cache, images compression plugins with very little luck. I don’t get it, most of the time main page on initial view does not load images. I have to refresh the page twice and then it still may or may not load properly.
All these plugins is like trying to solve a puzzle, some don’t work with each other and some don’t work with theme.
I truly love the newspaper 8 theme and the way it looks, but it runs like mac truck. SLOW and get terrible mileage.
I am loosing readership and visitors faster then the pages load, when can I do? I am testing on another server that is beefier, but not that much better results.
http://www.evanino.com is a site that has been running for 11 years and has a lot of visits, or use to.
I will go over the documentation once again, and play wack a mole trying to figure out what plays well with the theme.
Hello Catalin.
Thank you for the response. I have just downloaded the theme, so I just have an youtube-gallery plugin and a wp cache plugin installed, in addition to the plugins coming with the template. The Newspaper 7 version has many more plugins, and still clearer images. There is only a difference for the images uploaded to the blocks, not images uploaded otherwise, so just look at the posts and associated images beneath the ‘spotlight’ heading on the page. If you could have a look and compare:
(i) With clear images for the blocks: http://www.thecar.no
(ii) With more fuzzy images for the blocks: http://www.thecarindia.com
Also:
– I would like to remove the author identification on the posts (perhaps I have overlooked a feature)
– I would also like to take away the black-comment symbol showing on the right side of the post
– I am not able to get the logo larger in size without using the max-size feature the new template. The logo also appear more sharp for the previous template (both are png files).
In advance, thank you.
Best,
Glenn
Hi Guys,
In the settings of the theme, I was in the Translations tab, then I chose French and click on Save. But the translations in French are not displayed.
I disable the CDN
I’ve emptied the CDN cache and Browser
I disable the editor
But it does not always work. I was seeing in the Translations folder of the theme but there were no FR files, is it possible to have them?
Hi,
On a default theme install, using only the plugins included in the theme package, there is no problem using the tagDiv composer. Both in terms of speed and design or display.
This can be caused by not having the system status as mentioned in the guide provided by Bogdan
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Or maybe a plugin conflict. Try testing with all other plugins deactivated, and also clear your cache after you disable them. See if there is any effect after doing this, and let us know if you still have problems.
Thanks
Hi,
I have tested this post sorting on the same big grid, and it is working properly. It must display random posts from the category you choose
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ryT1mxur5aid
If the category you choose has posts in it, then they should display randomly as it is meant to.
This could be also a caching issue. Maybe you have caching installed or the server has a cache. That can produce the same page content, and not refresh the data.
Thanks
Hello ponlork,
I’m not sure why this happens on your end. It could be the wp super cache plugin:
Please use this guide to properly set wp super cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also, the wp super cache has a flaw in it;s code that should be corrected.
https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/pull/185/files
Edit wp-cache-phase1.php and add the green code from the right column as it shows in the provided link.
Let us know if you still have trouble with wp super cache.
You can try to disable the mobile theme plugin if you use it and test to see if you still have this issue.
Thank you!
Hello adam21s,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some problems with the sidebar and ads on the articles posted. I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. -> https://www.screencast.com/t/UQGsyd5z
If you are using some untested plugins, remove all of these and leave just only the required plugins to active and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hello Glenn,
Maybe you are using some untested plugins which are not compatible with Newspaper 8 and that’s why you got this, sorry! I do not know what kind of plugin you are using but please notice that we do not recommend using any others plugins for this optimizations because it is not required. Try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way, clear all the caches and use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and check the results. If the problem is still there, you should provide your website URL and also, some useful screenshots with before/after results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello 22p,
This error might appear only if your WP Super Cache is not right configured according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ Please setup it exactly with our useful guide.
Another cause of this problem would be a wrong setting from Seo Yoast plugin.
It is an option in the SEO Yoast plugin causing problems with the composer:
Turn off the following option from Seo Yoast, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh
You can still use Yoast as it is the tested and recommended SEO plugin but just not that option.
Thanks.
Hello mmedia6587,
Please notice that if you will use the Default template, as a page template, the page should not display the title of the page if you will use the page builder, sorry! Please clear all the caches, purge all CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the results.
Also, the code whihc hide the page title is below ->
.td-page-title{
display:none;
}
Thanks for your understanding!
Good Morning,
I’ve done what you quoted.
After deleting the cache, I deleted cookies and entered again and nothing happened. It’s been hours.
Still the same thing.
Hi,
I have tried the code that you mention on a h2 heading within the post content, and it is working for me
– https://www.screencast.com/t/BLuNQZkOEEGN
It could be a caching problem, try clearing any installed cache. Then check if the code applies.
Thanks
Hi Bogdan,
I disabled all the plugins and cleared cache (unfortunately I didn’t install a child theme) but it is still the same.
When I look into console when the pages loaded it shows this:
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT 1.jpg
This line appears about 2 minutes after page loaded, and it is only when this line appears that the mobile menu is working. Which means the menu is waiting for the two lines mentioned in my first post to be loaded.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Tina
Hello sefirotxx,
Check the system status parameters and see if all of these are increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Make sure that section has been setup with our guide, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
Hi Todd,
It seems to be a problem caused by your memory caches. Please try to remove all of the caches from your website, also, check the hosting provider and remove the server cache, purge all CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the results. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way with the latest theme version and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hi slo,
Please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at your Big Grid and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest theme version and make sure that you use only the required and tested plugins with the theme. Otherwise, if you use some untested plugins which might interact with the theme, please try to remove all of them, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The social counter works in our tests, and there have been no other negative reports in this matter. If it is configured properly with valid information, the Facebook profile page is public and has no restrictions, you have cleared all caching installed (maybe the server has a cache as well) then everything should work just fine.
Try testing with another Facebook profile, if possible.
If you can, send us an email at the mentioned address above and provide admin login information, so we can take a look at this.
Thanks
Hello websystemsweb,
I have tested on my side and as an author, I cannot edit the page with TD Composer as you said above, sorry! Please check the following screenshot here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/aSEhqll3uH because there you will see what you see when you have logged as an Author. Please provide more details about your problem, also, give me some screenshots so I can see the problem. I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello SeD,
Please notice that the W3 Total Cache plugin is not tested with our theme and it seems to be a problematic plugin, based on bad reports received until now, sorry! You should only use our WP Super Cache plugin, as before and check the results. This feature should have works as expected with the theme because it has been tested.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
I am assuming you are mentioning the mobile menu background. If you are not using the mobile theme plugin, this background has to be set here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/h1jIkCoq8Vi
If the mobile theme plugin is active, here
– https://www.screencast.com/t/x9M52kv7e
If you have set a background and it is not displayed, try clearing your cache, maybe this is the cause.
Thanks
Hello Tina,
The menu should open regardless of the images set as a background.
The most likely cause for this is a plugin conflict.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
