I can’t do a Theme update because I lose everything. After the update that I did, I have lost all the customizations that I did and then I had to restore the website back in time.
I will need to use a child theme, can you send me the child theme or check what has to be done to avoid this problem in the future?
Hello!
Please make sure your plugins also are up to date. I recommend you to make a backup and update plugins and the theme via file transfer, so that you don’t face any error: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The issue can be from a plugin conflict or security settings, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache, check those server settings and try again.
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
Hello,
Please make sure that the update procedure is done correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also, if the plugins aren’t updated, you can try to update manually: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/
Also, before the update, please make a full backup, also will be recommended to disable all extra plugins and child theme (if you use).
Thank you!
Hi,
If you want I can provide a css, you can try a code like this one
body .td-big-grid-post:hover .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before {
display:none;
}
Set the code in theme panel> custom code> custom css.
Also the css file is on this path wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newsmag/assets/css/td_legacy_main.css -> https://i.imgur.com/dHq7gnt.png

Thank you!
Hi,
In error, I’ve activated my purchase code inside the main theme, when I should have done it after installing the child theme. Can you help?
I wanted to send you a private email with all login details, or do a live chat, but I haven’t found any other options to contact you.

Hello,
So, I understand you have set the filer on block 3 to All categories, and then you get this error.
Please try to add again the block and made the same settings and see if the error appears.
Also, please let me know what version of the theme (if you have a child theme) and plugins and version of the PHP you have on your server.
Thank you!

I’m having big problems updating the Newspaper theme. I first made a backup of the entire WP installation (except uploads) using the All-in-one WP Migration plugin and then updated all plugins – always automatic backups via UpdraftPlus. Even though all plugins were updated without any problems, I wanted to update the theme from 10.3.9.1 to 11 – again with automatic backup by UdpdraftPlus. After updating the theme and its plugins, all theme settings were gone. I then tried to import the last UpdraftPlus backup before the theme update – the theme was back to 10.3.9.1, but my settings were still gone. Then I tried to install the update of All-in-one WP Migration – everything (plugins, theme, …) was the same as before – but the theme settings are still gone. How can I restore my original settings and how can I then update the theme?
Wordpress 5.6.4
Newspaper Theme 10.3.9.1
Newspaper Child Theme 9.0c

Hi
The link Sign in / Join is always visible in the header even though i desactivate it.
I tried to switch from child theme to normal theme but it keeps being displayed. Stopping cache plugin does not change anything.
Any idea ?
Hello!
Your page is distorted. The issue is from a plugin conflict, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache(also from your browser) and try again.
Please check if you have WP Bakery and uninstall it.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!

Hi, we followed instructions given here https://forum.tagdiv.com/adding-multiple-authors-articles/ to integrate the coauthors plugin using the child theme, because we need both multiple authors and guest authors feature. But this does not show the correct author when there is only one guest author selected. It works only when there are two or more authors selected.
Hello!
This could be a cache problem. We tested with our theme the WP Super Cache and with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Please check also if is not a plugin conflict, deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Hi kevinsikora, if you make the correct changes in theme files, then yes, you can display the custom fields, but the problem is that those flex elements will not work in a child theme. The code for those blocks are on this path wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/ and the changes should be set in this zone -> https://i.imgur.com/W7wxsAQ.png -> https://i.imgur.com/3qrFGk7.png
I hope this will help you!
Since last Friday, the composer is not able to load a (cloud) template or site. It stucks at the loading circle animation. The console shows the following Error:
Firefox: Uncaught SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unterminated string at line 1 column 12201 of the JSON data.
Chrome: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input at JSON.parse
What I tried:
- Deactivated all Plugins (except the tagDiv ones)
- Deactivated the Childtheme.
- Followed the guide tagDiv Composer not working
When I first run into that problem it was not urgent to respond to that but in the meantime for some reasons the header disappeared from one of our templates, which makes it crucial to get composer to work.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,

Did you use WP Bakery? If yes, we strongly recommend using only one of those plugins with our theme (WP Bakery or tagDiv Cloud Library, but not both).
Thank you!

How do I display (custom fields) in some of the TagDiv components?
Can I copy the components and add them to a child theme? If so, where do I find the components that I can copy?
For example, I am using a (Big Grid Flex 2) and a (Flex Block 3) component.
Hi zaxstar and vegasrenie2, I’m sorry for the problems you are facing, this is not our goal to upset and angry our customers, all we want is to improve our product and grow our community with happy customers.
Those are some isolate cases and since we can not recreate the problem on our installs we need to investigate those situations on some website that have the problem. So, if you want to help us to find the problem you are facing, please contact us at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and cPanel access, or if you have the possibility to make a subdomain or staging where to set the website, then will be better.
If it were a general problem, all our customers should have this problem, not just a few, therefore, there must be something which launches this problem, it can be from some extra plugins, from child theme if it is use with some custom code, it can also be from some specific settings from hosts.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello,
In most cases, this problem occurs because you have the latest version of WordPress with an older version of the theme.
Please check if you use the last version of WordPress 5.7.2 with the last theme version Newspaper 11 (if you have a theme version older, than NewsPaper 10.4 and you have the latest WP version 5.7.2, tagDiv Composer not work) and check to see if the problem persists.
If you need to make an update, before please make a full backup to all files and the database, in case something goes wrong. => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also, make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Also, if the problem persists please check if you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
