My high traffic travel website http://www.asiantraveltips.com has been using Newspaper theme for a couple of months now and it has been pretty good, but since the latest version updates all kinds of things have broken and I can’t fix them. I am currently on V7.0.1. My server is a VPS at A Small Orange running Apache with PHP V 5.4.45 and 1024 MB RAM. I’ve copied the Theme Status data below.
The Visual Composer is no longer working. I have tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling from the plugins folder in the theme files and it’s now on V.4.11.2 as you recommend but it still doesn’t work. If you visit the home page you’ll see the [vc] code is displayed at the top of the page instead of the parallax image scroller that should be there.
Apparently the image embed isn’t working, so look at http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/1243684/423dbeebbf2789c41a928271be340223
The image above shows the page editor screen when I try to edit my static front page. It’s blank. Before I uninstalled and reinstalled VC, it was displaying a VC logo in there but when I’d click it, I’d be taken to their website to buy the product. Now there’s just a blank box and if I click on the VC logo next to “Classic Editor” it does nothing. Same when I try to create a new page.
I have also lost my Mappress Pro maps and the admin strip across the tops of pages and posts when I am logged in as administrator. If I change back to my old theme, they both work just fine so it’s definitely related to Newspaper theme. I have even tried disabling all the other plugins and disabling Cloudflare and it makes no difference. So it doesn’t seem to be a plugin conflict.
I’m desperate and running out of options. This is starting to crash my Google rankings as well now.

Hi,
I just updated to Newspaper 7 and everything worked fine. I also installed the mobile plugin, a great plugin by the way, however after few hours, i started to see mobile version on desktop using internet explorer and google chrome. also on my mobile, I started to see desktop version of homepage.
After investigation, I arrived to the conclusion that it is a caching issue.
First I paused cloudflare and kept only w3 total cache. the problem was not resolved.
Then I used user agents to passthrough but the problem is still there.
Anyone can help please.
my site is http://www.midronepro.com
Hi there,
First of all, I manage to update the Theme from version 6.7.2 to version 7.0 without having a problem, if you have some customization through code, you will have to do a backup and then you should try to re-implement this in Newspaper 7 files. Here’s what I did:
1. Switch your site to “Maintenance Mode” using a plugin or if you don’t have its fine also.
2. I switch my Theme from “Newspaper” to “Twenty Fifteen” theme since its in “Maintenance Mode” so nobody sees it except me. 🙂
3. I deactivate all my plugins and if possible do not deactivate the following plugins “WP Super Cache”, “Cloudflare” and my “Maintenance Mode” plugin, please note that “WP Super Cache” plugin once deactivated and activated again the settings change back to its default and make sure you set it to the correct settings or follow this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
4. Please don’t skip this to always backup the files and the database or ask your hosting company to guide you on how to do it, in case something goes wrong with the server you could use the backup to revert to the previous state as what the Documentation says follow this guide link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ – Please read it carefully and follow what the instruction says follow the guide until Serial “A. Update the theme via FTP” only, this is the best way possible to update the Theme recommended by the tagdiv team.
5. After the update please ensure that you have cleared all your caches and purge your CDN files if you are using the CDN, and then go into the Theme Panel and click on the Save Settings button.
6. Update the following plugins – Visual Composer, Slider Revolution, tagDiv Social Counter and tagDiv Speed Booster that comes with the latest file you just downloaded from Envato>Download>All Files & documentation inside that there is a Folder name Plugins, how to update these plugins? follow this link and read it carefully: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and do the same way with the remaining plugins Slider Revolution, tagDiv Social Counter and tagDiv Speed Booster only.
7. Check your site if it’s working or not, if it is working then proceed to the next step, congrats you made it. 🙂
8. Then start activating again your plugins that you just deactivated earlier in Serial 3, much better one by one to activate your plugin then you will know what causing you a problem if you activate a plugin, first you activate the recommended ones then the rest of your plugins.
9. Since you haven’t found any problem at all and if you have some customization through code on the previous version, then you should try to re-implement this in Newspaper 7.
Try this common troubleshooting tool:
a. Clearing all your caches and purge your CDN files help a lil bit of our common problems.
b. Save again your Permalinks in case you have some extra Pages which comes or created by your Third Party Plugins and problems with some links are “Not Found”, go to Dashboard>Settings>Permalinks and mine is set to “Post name” then click “Save Changes”.
Lastly, if you have found any error or conflict or question about anything, please just do a search here in the forum or write a new topic and address your problem and I just share this atleast a lil help for the awesome tagdiv team. Great theme ever!!!
I love the new update Newspaper version 7 🙂
Enjoy!!!

Hello, I’m get new version and i edit file Style.css but havent anything change on my website. Fix this.
I’m use Easy Engine with WPSuperCache and my domain use Cloudflare.
– I’m change another Theme and edit file style.css. Everything is ok. I thing this new version have error.
Recently I’ve noticed my sites been loading slower, I’ve got W3 Total Cache & Also cloudflare connected already.
I ran it through a speed test on Gt Metrix and these results came through:
Could this be the issue? & how could I fix it? Thanks!
Hi
You can enable gzip compression to reduce the resource size loaded by the theme. For more detail in this regard you can check our page-speed documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Also minifing these resources by using cdn it may help: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
We decided to keep all css/js code in single files to limit the requests made by the theme to server. For example if we divide the css in five files could appear some of these situations:
– on a simple page it may be required only one file which will be loaded very fast and its size it’s also very low. This is a good thing.
– on a complex page with many elements on it most likely will be required all five css files. That means five requests to the server instead of one. This may not be a big issue on sites with low traffic but if a site hit let’s say 10000 visitors per day this will be a big issue.
Thanks!
I have nailed down pretty much everything to make the site more efficient. Any scans I run on the site come back green except for page weight. The CSS and JS files are over 1mb combined, even after they have both been minified. Has anyone had success in reducing the size of these files without breaking the site? Would it not make more sense for the developer to offer something similar to jquery UI where you can pick the parts you need and get a reduced file size.
I have a cache plugin and cloudflare to help, but at the end of the day 1.5mb is too big for a single page. I need to cut off the excess. Anyone else had and solved this issue?
Hi,
For minification, we use cloudflare as other tools do not seem to work properly. Please follow this guide properly and make sure you do not use any incompatible plugins with speedbooster: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
You can also read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/incompatible-plugin-detected/
Thanks.
Hi Bogdan,
1) I tried to disable plug in one at a time, eliminating cloudflare and cleaning the cache error remains …
2) I tried to make a new article in a new category – error remains
3) I tried to re-save old category – error remains
3) I tried to re-save custom permalink (/% category% /% postname% /) – error remains
4) I tried to do new article without category – error disappears
Do you have any suggestions to try again?
Thanks

Hi Andrei,
We dont have any plugin which can do so. The plugins we have are
All In One SEO Pack, All In One WP Security, AntiVirus, Easy FancyBox,
Google XML Sitemaps, OneSignal Push Notifications, Revolution Slider, Single Day Posts Export, tagDiv Social Counter, tagDiv Speed Booster, Visual Form Builder, WordPress Importer, WP Cloudy, WP Security Audit Log, WP Smush, WP Super Cache, WP-Mail-SMTP, WPBakery Visual Composer, Youtube Channel Gallery.
I dont think any of these plugins can cause this. I think may be its the google/yahoo ad we put is generating a automatic ad while in mobile browser. It will be good if you can confirm.

Thanks in advance.

So all of a sudden my sites layout seems to have broken, it was perfect yesterday, I’ve disabled all plugins and still no difference either!
http://sweetervegan.com/ is my site, it used to have nice block layouts now code is everywhere and it’s out of place
Also the visual editor only shows code now, too >>> http://i.imgur.com/CElhVuE.png
Only thing I’ve done recently is put CloudFlare on my site
What could be the problem? Thanks!
Hello unixmen,
I have checked your website and I saw the difference between Ie and Chrome browser. It could be plugin’s issue. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugin that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. For more information about our cloud flare configuration, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi Support;
sorry to put our site here. http://www.unixmen.com
The site is displaying good in Firefox and Chrome, but looks very ugly in Internet explorer.
Please give a look and advice how to resolve that
( we are using WP Fastest Cache Premium plugins + Cloudflare Free). Can be this the reason ?

Hello, I’m using CloudFlare.
Mobile phones do not work in the top menu of the site. Search button does not work.
How do I fix this?
My site: http://bit.ly/1YjZdq2
Thanks.

Thanks for all help – it may help others – these page rules if using CloudFlare fixed errors – now all error-free for AMP
CloudFlare Page Rules for AMP – before a fix comes from CloudFlare
Thanks again
Pat
Thanks Chris – it’s these two occurrences of this ‘text/javascript’ script – appears to come from Cloudflare? I’d seen on .org the CF page rules and made those – will try with it off (damn got a great page speed with it on) or research other page rules etc – Thanks so much for guidance – Pat

I recently installed NewsMag and am having issues with the images not loading on the front page. I’ve fiddled around with a bunch of stuff, including changing the blocks (the “slider” seems to be a little glitchy re loading), installing WP Smush, and making sure WP Super Cache is working properly. I also use CloudFlare.
Still, I get white spaces where the images are supposed to be. Any idea what might be going on?

Update on this: After fiddling with everything I could think of (with help from the fab TagDiv crew), we still couldn’t figure out why the top page was disappearing, but it appeared to have something to do with me having the site on CloudFlare. (Because, yeah, I deactivated CloudFlare, and the comment system worked fine – BUT my site slowed down and had all the problems I had before activating CloudFlare. So I ended up activating it again and had the same comment issue.)
So I tried out some different comment systems, and while checking out Postmatic, I live-chatted with the Postmatic crew (Jason L., who is awesome), and here’s what we did: Activated the Postmatic plugin, then also added another plugin from the Postmatic people called Epoch (solves most comment issues and works with CDN, Cache and SEO). Those two plugins solved the issue. Comments work great (and bonus points that the Postmatic plugin has a cool thing where people can just reply to a comment email and their comment is automatically added to the post) and everything is speedy.
Highly recommend Postmatic and Epoch, as well as the excellent customer support from the Postmatic people.
Hi
That link refers to a cloud share url. For example if you have some public files uploaded on cloud you can add the url on that field and visitors will be able to access them.
Thanks!
When I scroll to the bottom of my blog and select the 2, 3, 4, etc page number at the bottom it doesn’t take me where it should. It just refreshes the page. I’m not sure why that is the case.
My url is: http://www.letstalkfantasyfootball.com/
I’ve deactivated my plugins one by one while turning off my Cloudflare to try and find the issue but I’ve had no luck.
Do you guys think it’s theme related or am I simply missing something here?
Thanks!

Hi
I’ve checked your site and the icons are displayed fine now: http://screencast.com/t/kJigtCt8Vx3l If you still have this issue when you’re using cdn please make sure that you have set it up according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Thanks!
AMP works with TagDiv themes “right now” — and has passed validation since November during beta.
So, there is no “AMP ready” version of the theme — it’s already AMP-ready. Much like the theme won’t build in its own ecommerce system to replace WooCommerce, etc., it makes no sense to make custom version of theme for AMP, since AMP is designed to load fonts and dependencies off the cloud, and only local content and images from your site. And there is provision for AdSense, and there is provision for CPTs, and there is provision for customizing the template. So, that is available NOW, and no reason to end up with 20 theme updates in the coming year just for AMP, Apple Publisher format, or Facebook Articles — all of this SHOULD be done with actively updated and supported plugins and left agnostic (not part of) the theme.
Many of our sites have been indexed the past month and the only issues are strictly content related, such as bad inline CSS from WordPress like stupidly using the center align tag on a paragraph several places.
I have a thread about this here, which you might find useful. The official AMP plugin is the only way to fly as its theme agnostic, and its being actively developed for WP VIP clients like TIME magazine, etc.

Hi
A possible solution at this issue would be to exclude from cache all pages where you’re using blocks with Random filter. I am not sure why your host provider said that he can’t exclude the entire homepage from being cached but at the moment we can’t offer a better alternative at this.
Here I found some informations which may help you bin order to exclude a specific page from being cache: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200172316-How-do-I-exclude-a-specific-URL-from-CloudFlare-s-caching-
Thanks!
