Hi
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Usually this issue appear when the photon module of Jetpack plugin it’s used. If you use this module make sure you deactivate it and test again.
Thanks!
Hi
I am not aware what plugin you use for rating and how this plugin works. Since is not tested with the theme there is a chance to appear some issues with its functionality. Try to deactivate all others plugins, except for Visual Composer and the rating plugin then test again. Also you can test this with a default wp theme to see if you get the same behavior.
Thanks!
Hello,
Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer and clear your cache. Also check if you have any custom modifications done to the theme files. Please also check this issue on a WordPress default theme.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot that CSS did the trick since a poll plugin from Envato is doing all the fuzz, somehow the big grid 5 was only showing 4 articles when we have hundreds with the featured tag used on that config, activating and deactivating Visual Composer plugin did the trick too.
Thanks for your support!
Hi there – thanks for the reply. I think the problem maybe a conflict between Visual Composer and TinyMCEAdvanced plugin.
Once I de-select the option of Reove Paragraph Spacing in the TinyMCEAdvanced Settings I think things are OK.
I hope this helps someone else too.
Thanks. Again – it’s a GREAT theme – congratulations.
Go to Pages > then its probably going to be the News page if you didn’t change. The page where you would setup your blocks for your homepage…..look below the Visual Composer section for “Homepage latest articles” section. In that section you can choose the Sidebar Position, and also the Sidebar that you want it to use.

If that doesn’t help, you’ll have to wait for a mod.
Hi,
I have checked your console again and you still have this error that could cause issues to the view counter – http://screencast.com/t/atFMmJzAT Please try to disable all the plugins except Visual Composer, clear cache and see if it counts when you refresh the post. If it works enable the plugins one by one and see which one cause this issue.
Thanks!
Hi
Please make sure that you updated the theme and the Visual Composer plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all others plugins just to be sure that there is no conflict between Visual Composer and one of your plugins, clear all caches and test again.
Let us know how it goes and if you still can’t manage to solve this issue please send us your login credentials via email at contact@tagdiv.com so we can have a closer look at this issue.
Thanks!
Hi,
The Revolution Slider plugin comes bundled within the theme files and you can find it in the /plugins folder like it is specified in that guide, you don’t have to register or update it as we provide regular updates after it is tested with the theme(with Visual Composer is the same).
Let us know if you still have issues with it.
Thanks!
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using an older version of Visual Composer plugin. I am not sure if this affect the way your affiliate link works but you can try to update the plugin at the current version available with the theme on themeforest, V4.9, clear all caches, deactivate all others plugins, leave just Visual Composer active and test again.
If you still can’t manage to solve this issue please provide the code that you’re using via
http://pastebin.com/ so I can inspect this closer.
Thanks!
Hello colgate,
I have tested this feature on my side and everything seems to work properly. I have no idea why you have this problem. I suspect that could be a cache issue so try to clear all caches and test again. Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again. If your problem is still there after this workaround, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect the issue.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
hi TagDiv,
awesome theme! You guys rock 🙂
Just a quick question. I updated to the latest version 6.6.3 version of the Newspaper theme, and then updated the included Visual Composer plugin to the version (I think it was 4.9) included in the download. However, unfortunately VC 4.9 broke the front page of my site. I use a 2/3 + 1/3 column which you can see here:
The 1/3 sidebar column would only display below the main 2/3 column using VC 4.9. Nothing I could do — rebuilding the page etc — would fix this. The Newspaper theme just would not recognise the 2/3 + 1/3 style which I set in Visual Composer. And yes, I tinkered with the row settings as recommended on this forum. No change.
However, I’m conscious that there is a security hole in versions of VC below 4.7.4 (I’m currently on VC 4.6). I’m keen to try VC 4.7.4 or above with the current version of the theme. But I can’t find a way to download this. Can Tagdiv provide a version of this file for download, or let me know where I can get it? I’m happy to pay for it.
Let me know!
Kind regards,
Renai
Hi
I’ve checked your site and the images are displayed fine now: http://screencast.com/t/XHdRG5zKa This issue usually appear because of lazy load animation which’s script conflicts with one of the installed plugins. If this happens again you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, then activate them one by one see which one causes the problem.
Thanks!
Hi
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. If the problem persist try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/UoHEgxhtvs
[class*="span"]{
margin-left: 0px;
}
Regarding the posts from big grid 5, they are displayed fine, but you have only four post set to be displayed in that grid: http://screencast.com/t/9OZNzD7Y Please make sure that you have enough post which correspond with the filters that you set for big grid 5, clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
Hi
When the child theme it’s used for files customizations it’s a good practice to check update_log.txt file for each update and see what files had been modified so if those specific files are used in the child theme you will have to check your customizations to not break the functionality of the theme.
@rbemerson the way in which child theme works with our theme is by moving the file that you want to modify in Newsmag-child folder. You have to copy every file that you want to edit in child theme folder.
@DSLRMZ I have checked the child theme functionality and works fine. Please make sure that you’re using the child theme from the same package with the main theme: http://screencast.com/t/gwJPjoBUbvZ clear all caches, deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and test again.
Thanks!
Hello John,
Please ensure you that this problem is not caused by a conflicting plugin. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and in this case, you should rule out the conflicts between plugins. After this advice, if your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your log-in information so we can take a look at your page setup. Please also provide a link to this topic so we know who you are.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
The theme is responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens unfortunately it doesn’t have any settings to disable background image on mobile(you can only hide it via custom css) and this option is from Visual Composer(background to the row/column).
For css you can differentiate phones an tablets using media queries – https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/media-queries-for-standard-devices/
For php you could use this function – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_is_mobile
Thanks!

Hi @mefta
The theme’s blocks were designed to work on span12, span8 and span4 which means the you can use this coblinations of colons from Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/NQXVPSUdm7Th I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re usin a combination by span5 + span3 + span4, that’s why the block 14 exceed the allowed space. http://screencast.com/t/MPNgvXjL This issue will be corrected if you use three colons with span4: http://screencast.com/t/CeDSKUe96 – http://screencast.com/t/W4VHr0h94Jq
Thanks!
Hi,
is there a way for hiding or showing a block in a page with a Visual Composer, without deleting or reinserting it?
Thank you
Hi @barryc123
You can set the featured image from post editor: http://screencast.com/t/fzThUQ0Nq1u Also try to regenerate your thumbnails https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
If the problem persist please provide your site url so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hi,
I’m not sure why you get this issue as I have checked this and did not found any issues – http://screencast.com/t/6M6ooZbjGtO – http://screencast.com/t/X1OKaM5h
Please make sure that this is not caused by a plugin, so check this only with Visual Composer active and see if you still have this issue.
If the issue persist please provide a link so we can check.
Thanks!
Hi
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and check if the problem persist. If the problem is still there try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/vtUr2zpnguem
.vc_row{
margin-left: 0;
}
I’ve checked your site and found some js errors in browser console: http://screencast.com/t/00Ch1Qx8 Make sure that you remove any minifications tools if you use’re using and test again. Also you can try to update the theme and Visual Composer plugin at the current version available o themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ empty all caches ant test again. Before the update process do a full back-up to your database and the current WordPress install: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups in case something goes wrong you can get back to the previous version.
Thanks!
Hello wpdiv,
I have checked your website and I saw your problem with the mega menu. Please ensure that your problem is not caused by any plugins that you are using. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, disable all the minification files, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again. It is necessary to follow this advice because you rule out the plugins in the conflict that might cause this problem.
If your problem is still there after this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your log-in information so we can take a look at your page setup. Please also provide a link to this topic so we know who you are.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi
Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear all caches, disable any css/js minifications and see if you still have this issue. Also you could check this by using the main theme and make sure you use the latest theme version.
Thanks!
