Hi,
What I can suggest is first to make a full backup for your website and database and after that to update the theme (also, you can try first on staging or sub-domain).
The theme should be updated via FTP, by replacing the old theme with the new one (replace not overwrite), in case that there are custom changes in the theme files, those will be lost. Also, the child theme should be disabled and the main theme should be used. The child theme should be replaced with the version found in the last package from the ThemeForest and the code form it should be updated to the new files structure.
After the theme is installed, please install the theme plugins: tagDiv Composer, tagDiv Standard Pack and the rest of the theme plugins that you had before the theme update (social counter, newsletter).
I hope this will help you!

@Calin Hi! It’s improved a bit, but it’s still freezing. I disabled some plugins. You know what I think? At the end of last month it wasn’t like this, it was running smoothly.

I found something that might be causing the slowness. You know? It could be this: the theme isn’t identifying the caching plugin. Look at this: https://ibb.co/hFjWZy65

It says: “No caching plugin detected – for best performance we recommend using WP Super Cache”, even though I’m using LiteSpeed Cache, as you can see in the image.

However, there’s a message saying:

WARNING: The LSCache caching functions on this page are currently unavailable! To use the caching functions, you must have a LiteSpeed web server or be using the QUIC.cloud CDN. Learn more: https://ibb.co/fzyWqtg2

Then this page appears to click, to learn more: https://encurtador.com.br/nqXP. From what I understand, LiteSpeed doesn’t support PHP pages, or doesn’t work with caching PHP pages, and they have a paid service that performs better.

This might be causing the site to be slow. And this also appears:

5120M – Images, themes and plugins larger than this cannot be loaded. To learn how to change this, see our guide here.

What should be the ideal value for post_max_size? https://ibb.co/d0G7rfvG. “Images, themes and plugins larger than this cannot be loaded”. It could be a slow theme issue. This needs to be resolved, but I don’t know how.

Another thing: I need your help. Do you know the related channels block? This one: https://ibb.co/BVz63DqM.

You need to filter the main category: it appears here: https://ibb.co/NngYKwhK and is configured here: https://ibb.co/XxbXd2RT in the dav composer filter configuration. There’s no option to show only the main category: https://ibb.co/ksSHH8Bq.

Could you send me a custom CSS to do this? To show only the main category as shown here: https://ibb.co/RpdJ3VGT. It should appear in that block, but I don’t know what to do. I need a working CSS.

I ask for your help in solving these problems. Thank you for your attention.

Hi,

To change the article width, you need to use a single post template. This cna be edited using tagDiv Composer, and you can stretch the row to the dimension you like. tagDiv Composer like this -> https://i.imgur.com/i5IUJ9E.jpg add or select a row and stretch it after your needs -> https://i.imgur.com/WKYebPX.jpg -> https://i.imgur.com/TO1BZ3M.png -> https://i.imgur.com/Yq8UCv3.jpg

Hi,
There is no need to edit teh code, this will be lost when the theme is updated. Our theme has settings for everything you need. For a general type of date, you can even use wordpress settings – https://i.imgur.com/eSXiJ4L.png
Also, elements like the flex block builder are displaying built modules (made with tagDiv Composer) and can be edited with this – https://i.imgur.com/5QWDoQE.jpeghttps://i.imgur.com/vSewkTY.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/79byHhz.png

Hello Calin,

Thank you for the suggestions. I have followed your advice and performed a step-by-step conflict test. I have found the exact cause of the problem.

Here are the results:

Test 1: I activated the default Twenty Twenty-Four theme with only LiteSpeed Cache active.

Result: x-litespeed-cache: hit. The cache works perfectly.

Test 2: I activated the Newspaper theme (v 12.7.3) with only LiteSpeed Cache active. All other plugins (including TagDiv Composer) were disabled.

Result: x-litespeed-cache: miss.

This test proves that the conflict is 100% inside the main Newspaper theme itself, not with another plugin. The theme is actively sending a no-cache signal as soon as it is activated.

Your functions.php code snippet from the last email did not solve this problem.

Please provide a working solution to disable this no-cache signal coming directly from the theme. I am on a LiteSpeed server and must use the LiteSpeed Cache plugin.

Thank you.

Yep that works for single post template, I managed to edit the date time format.

However it seems for posts (w/ title, description, categories, date, reading time) inside a Flex Block Builder that came with the default Forest Beat example, there’s no way to edit the “date element” inside the Flex Block Builder. Clicking on the date brings me to the “Flex Block Builder” instead of the date element.

So it’s still not working for me specifically for the posts on Forest Beat homepage. Still has its own date time format.

I had to dig into the source code (i.e. via Edit instead of tagDiv composer) to find out:

[tdb_flex_block_builder limit=”2″ tdc_css=”eyJhbGwiOnsibWFyZ2luLWJvdHRvbSI6IjAiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn19″ cloud_tpl_module_id=”23″ modules_on_row=”eyJhbGwiOiI1MCUiLCJwaG9uZSI6IjEwMCUifQ==” modules_gap=”eyJhbGwiOiI0MCIsInBvcnRyYWl0IjoiMzAifQ==” modules_vert_align=”stretch” all_modules_space=”eyJwaG9uZSI6IjMwIn0=” offset=”1″]

There’s no way to edit the date field inside tdb_flex_block_builder!

After updating to the latest version, we’re seeing a malfunction in the TagDiv visual composer.

Clicking “editwithtagdivcomposer” doesn’t work and always redirects to the homepage.

Hi,
Yes, this is possible, using a cloud header you can assign it globally (for the entire website) and you can also use it as an individual, only for a page or cloud template (the individual option will apply over the global one). This can be done using tagDiv Composerhttps://i.imgur.com/5AtRPwa.png select the manager and in the header click on the header name – https://i.imgur.com/4D0lqVN.png (not on global, only on name to make it green, this means it is assigned as an individual on that page/template).
Thank you!

Hi,

Our theme do not use no-cache or DONOTCACHEPAGE.
Also, testing with a theme like “Twenty Twenty-Four” that does not have any features and comparing it with the Newspaper theme that you can build almost anything, I think, is not a good comparison, but if this is indeed something related to our theme make some tests like this. Use only the Newspaper theme without any extra plugins except the cache plugin. If it’s ok, go on with tagDiv Composer, this is the hard part of the theme. Then, with tagDiv Cloud Library and so on, until you test it with all the theme plugins you are using.
The text step after you identify the plugin that is interfering with the cache is to check the cache settings. From my experience, setting ‘/’ in cache fields will be interpreted to not cache the homepage, but this is maybe only my interpretation.

As a suggestion you can try a code like this one in the child theme (the code needs to be adjusted):

add_action( 'template_redirect', function() {
if ( class_exists( 'LSCache\\LSCWP' ) ) {
// Remove any DONOTCACHEPAGE flag that may have been set earlier
if ( defined( 'DONOTCACHEPAGE' ) && DONOTCACHEPAGE ) {
// Un-define the constant (only works if not locked), or override via filter
// Note: PHP doesn't allow undefining a constant, so we use filter below
}
// Use our filter to override caching logic
add_filter( 'litespeed_cache_allow_cache', function( $allow ) {
return true;
}, 99 );
// Clear any HTTP headers forcing no-cache
header_remove( 'Cache-Control' );
header_remove( 'Pragma' );
}
}, 0 );

Thank you!

Hello tagDiv Team,

I am using your Newspaper theme on a **LiteSpeed Server** (Hostinger) with the official **LiteSpeed Cache** (LSC) plugin.

The problem is that my site (laikmetis.lt) is not being cached. The response header always shows x-litespeed-cache: miss, and the HTML comment at the bottom of the page says “Page generated”, not “Page cached”.

I have run tests and **100% confirmed this conflict is caused only by the Newspaper theme**:

* **Test 1 (Newspaper theme active):** The result is x-litespeed-cache: miss.
* **Test 2 (Default Twenty Twenty-Four theme active):** The result is x-litespeed-cache: hit. (The page caches perfectly).

I have already tried every possible solution from the LSC plugin side, but your theme overrides all settings. I have already:

1. Confirmed that LiteSpeed Cache -> [4] Excludes settings are all empty.
2. Confirmed that LiteSpeed Cache -> [4] Do Not Cache Cookies is empty.
3. **Most importantly:** Added / (the front page) to LiteSpeed Cache -> [1] Force Cache URIs. Even with this “force” setting, your theme **still blocks** the page from being cached.

**Important Clarification:**

Please **do not** suggest that I use WP Super Cache or WP Rocket. This is **not a solution**, as I am on a **LiteSpeed Server**. Using any plugin other than LiteSpeed Cache means a massive performance loss. The goal is to make your theme compatible with my server, not to abandon my server’s advantages.

**My Request:**

These tests prove that the Newspaper theme (or TagDiv Composer) is actively sending a no-cache header or using a PHP constant (like DONOTCACHEPAGE).

Please provide a specific solution (a code snippet for functions.php or a hidden setting) so I can **disable** your theme’s no-cache signal. This is necessary to allow the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to finally function correctly.

Hi,

Really find it difficult to use the tagDiv composer. I’m not able to see how exactly can I edit the date time format to follow “F j, Y” when clearly the date has leading zeroes.

On my version of Forest Beat https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_forest_beat_pro/

– The first hero article has “F j, Y” (no leading zeroes)
– The article “Forest Management: Balancing Ecology and Economy” has “F d, Y” (leading zeroes)

Not sure why there’s inconsistencies. Also nowhere in tagDiv editor can you edit the datetime format??

Hi,

Normally, you should be able to do this, just click on the element and see if this is selected. If not, then please disable all non-theme plugins, and after that, reopen the page in tagDiv Composer and try again. Sometimes, extra plugins are interfering.

Thank you!

Hi,

Our theme is working best with the ACF plugin. Just add the plugin and use it for your taxonomies. This will add the image option – https://i.imgur.com/ADHqys1.png then use a cloud template for your taxonomy and edit it with tagDiv Composer as you want, add the taxonomy background image https://i.imgur.com/6WR2szJ.png and everything you need.

Hi,
If you do not want the featured image element on your articles, then it can be removed. Now, depending on the type of template you are using the settings are different:
– using a single post template from the cloud, you need to edit it using tagDiv Composer and use the right click on the featured image and from the menu select delete – https://i.imgur.com/YUgzc9V.png https://i.imgur.com/4KyzN4X.png
– for standard templates from tagDiv standard pack, you need to use the theme panel settings (those templates can be edited using only the theme panel settings) https://i.imgur.com/QSbS9oY.png
Thank you!

Hi RENATO,

The element shortcode from the single post template is a special one, which is why it is displaying only on the single post template, so if there are shortcodes that should trigger the article IDs, they will work correctly. BUG the shortcodes can be set in our theme on any page and cloud templates using the column text and text with title elements, you just need to set the shortcode in one of those elements and it will render the shortcode – https://imgur.com/DSSni9j

For the image situation, I will recommend setting a class on the row that is holding the image elements, doing this you can replace teh dynamic class tdi_98/7 – https://i.imgur.com/ngnSDSS.png

To hide an element using tagDiv Composer, select it and check the css tab, then on display, set the hidden option – https://i.imgur.com/CKrwQ2z.png use teh manage to see the hidden elements – https://i.imgur.com/IQ9JRUz.png

Related to the date from Google search results https://yoast.com/help/date-appears-search-results/

About the pagespeed, the best results are using the WP Rocket plugin, but this is a premium plugin and most of users prefer something free, here, it can be use the WP Super Cache, but with the Autoptimize plugin, othetrcache plugins that can be used with good results: WP Optimizer or LiteSpeed.
Also, using Cloudflare will help you a lot!

The live search element can be “translated” using tagDiv Composer select the element and look for the text set in composer https://i.imgur.com/0MuagAg.png

Related to the image requests for reducing the module image size, this is in the theme on flex blocks – https://i.imgur.com/PKmODaB.png https://i.imgur.com/tszBQkz.png and on single image element – https://i.imgur.com/jlzRLWu.png
The shortcode support in the theme is since teh theme was on Themeforest. As I mentioned above, the shortcodes should be set in column text or text with title.

Thank you!

Calin
tagDiv Staff

Hi,
Most of the time, the problem is from a shortcode that is not compatible with our theme or a plugin conflict; therefore, after you set it with tagDiv Composer and save the page/cloud template, the next time you try to edit it, you’ll get that error.
If is only for one page or a cloud template (it can be on the header or footer, you can change them for tests and see if the problem persists), this is from some settings/shortcodes set on it and it can be fixed using the page revision https://wordpress.com/support/page-post-revisions/

Thank you!
