I’m using the your demo website to create my new website.
I can’t find the setting to change the name or title of a block. For example, there are some blocks available on the demo website such as “DON’T MISS”, “LIFESTYLES NEWS”, “HOUSE DESIGN”…
Please show me how to change that and how to link a block to a category or menu.
Thank you.
Hello,
The settings in the theme panel are not affected by the child theme or a theme update. The settings are kept in the database. The only way you could have lost your settings is by loading a theme demo. You maybe installed the new theme and then installed a theme demo or uninstalled a theme demo. Unfortunately if this is the case, the setting sin he theme panel will have to be re-set. Sorry
Thank you!
Hi,
When this issue will be fixed, there will be no need for this temporary code, as it will be integrated in the demo.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi,
When uninstalling or changing to another demo, all the settings and content imported by the respective demo on installation will be removed and everything will be as it was before the installation. That is way you should not edit the dummy data from the demo to prevent it from being removed. This is mentioned here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Each theme demo has it’s own settings and design. You could just reinstall the previous demo, you can not have one demo installed with the settings of another. It also would be best to make periodical backups in case a mistake was made. Please correct me if I misunderstand.
Thanks
Can anyone please tell me , while changing demos how to revert my settings? I lost my complete setting of the theme
SOrry Catalin but you will see nothing, because I have removed the block (block 14) that was only showing a large blank space instead of his original layout.
Before the update it was a block 14 just like in the demo site with a dark background…
Hi,
It seems there is a problem with the breadcrumbs not displaying on the post page in this particular demo, and this combined with some header style is causing this issue. I have added this on our fix list and it will get resolved as soon as possible. Please try and use the code provided below as a quick fix for you to use in the meantime, with this result – https://www.screencast.com/t/lfHHGhBGb3jc
.td-blog-beauty .td-post-template-default
.td-crumb-container {
display: block;
}
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom Css – https://www.screencast.com/t/Sxtr3nhrnnHd
Thank you for understanding!
Hello,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I understand now what you mean but the ‘features’ menu is not part of any demo. It is a simple menu item we created on each demo to present the different features of the theme. It is not part of the demo itself. The elements in that menu item are custom made so the customer can see the different theme elements in action but this is not pat of the theme itself but rather a presentation of the different features of the theme. We cannot provide this content unfortunately.
Thank you!
I have installed latest version of newspaper theme.
1) Trying to install Newspaper Default Demo ‘Only Settings & No Content’ however it installing demo with full content. Tried other demos as well however same thing is happening.
2) Also the Generate Access Token feature on Social Counter Widget is not generating an access token.
Please check at your end and do the needful asap.
I appreciate your thoughtful response. I think it’s misleading to suggest that AMP “replaces” the mobile theme. It’s offered as an alternative to the mobile theme and with proper implementation, Google will find the AMP version, show it in mobile search results and rank it higher than a corresponding non-AMP (but still optimized for mobile) page. On my site, we use AMP for SEO purposes only and as much as we can, we direct visitors to the regular mobile version of our site because this is the experience we prefer and want our visitors to have.
Just like theme authors keep up with the ins and outs of changes to WordPress and how their themes interact with various plugins, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that they keep up with AMP.
There are many plugins like AMP for WP that take what Automattic is doing with their “agnostic” plugin and greatly enhance it. For example, just in the time that I’ve been using AMP for WP, the authors have added optimizations specific to Newspaper as well as support for plugins that do not display properly with Automattic’s plugin like Tobias Bäthge’s awesome TablePress. This is all done, of course, without breaking AMP validation.
I’m not suggesting that the Newspaper developers start from scratch. Plugin authors like those behind AMP for WP have shown that AMP functionality can be extended using Automattic’s plugin as a base.
My idea would be for tagDiv’s mobile theme plugin to work in the same way — essentially allowing Automattic’s plugin to do the heavy lifting and adding Newspaper-specific design and functionality on top of it.
My website, The Apex, chose Newspaper and continues to use it because of the awesome experience afforded by the mobile theme plugin. However, that experience becomes diluted when the best experience can’t get the best search ranking due to Google’s insistence on AMP compliance.
I have seen very good AMP implementations on other sites that aren’t based on WordPress — so good, in fact, that it was nearly impossible to tell the difference between AMP and non-AMP. This demonstrates to me that it is indeed possible to offer a fully functional and well-designed experience while keeping in compliance with the evolving AMP standard.
Seeing these sites should make it abundantly clear that what is offered by Automattic’s plugin isn’t sufficient. Yes, it creates pages that validate against the AMP standard. But it doesn’t make the THEME compliant with AMP, only the site’s content. I’m doing a disservice to my site’s visitors by giving them a less-than-optimal experience. I want them to use Newspaper’s mobile theme and tagDiv should want them to use it too — but that’s not going to happen as long as AMP pages rank higher than others and tadDiv continues to see AMP as a distraction.
The best news theme for WordPress, which Newspaper undoubtedly is, will not remain the best for long if it cannot deliver a best-in-class AMP experience for its paying customers like me. SEO is critically important for sites that use themes like Newspaper and denying the importance of AMP as well as the experience when viewing an AMP-compliant page is a big mistake. tagDiv should not be content allowing the AMP experience for sites using Newspaper to be dictated by a third party.
The first major news-style theme for WordPress that offers built-in support for AMP with no difference in the experience over non-AMP mobile pages will be a winner in this space. I can’t help but think that tagDiv is missing a huge opportunity here.
Keeping track of tests on this forum thread in case anyone else encounters embed issues.
1) Tried downgrading the dev site from 7.0 to 5.6 and 5.5. Problem still exists after downgrade.
2) Upon suggestion that the problem may go away if demo content is reinstalled, we reinstalled the demo content and settings on PHP 7.0 with no success. We then downgraded to 5.6 and 5.5 and reinstalled the demo content and settings and the problem still exists.
3) We have installed a fresh WordPress website with a clean install of Newspaper theme. Added posts with embeds and all embeds are currently displaying. This is expected as new posts on the live website also embed all social media posts correctly. We expect that the social media embeds may start to fail within the next day or two.
4) We still don’t know what may be causing this problem or if embedded posts or the_content are filtered via a filter or action or in any way that could cause this issue.
Please ask someone else to respond. You clearly aren’t reading this or somehow don’t understand.
1. I do not need help installing the demo content.
2. I have installed the demo content.
3. I have the demo content installed from all your demos.
4. The DEMO CONTENT from your DEFAULT DEMO is MISSING CONTENT.
5. This is a problem on your end, not mine.
6. Go here https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
7. Click the FEATURES link in the menu.
8. All the content in that drop down and any sub drop down is MISSING IN YOUR DEMO CONTENT.
9. I didn’t do anything wrong. THE CONTENT IS NOT THERE.
I WANT YOU TO GIVE ME THE ENTIRE CONTENT OF THE DEMO AS THAT IS WHAT YOU SAY IT COMES WITH.
I DO NOT NEED HELP. I NEED CONTENT FROM YOU.
Hi,
I see that you have managed to achieve the desired tab element on your page – https://www.screencast.com/t/MdR71nTx0VeP
If you mean that it does not look exactly the same as the one in the demo, you need to add this class
td-tab-color to the tab settings like mentioned above. Then it should look like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/dbonSQssnWO
I have made no other settings beside creating the tabs, adding the big grid, and the respective class.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately there is no tutorial or documentation for installing the demos that way. The demos are meant to be installed through the theme panel automatically. Trying to install a demo by parts could be more difficult then the one click default installation.
Just to get an idea, inside the demo folders you can find the homepage layout for example – https://www.screencast.com/t/BPtQEcII that can be used in Visual composer, the demo css and less files – https://www.screencast.com/t/NAiSRWIjn or the settings from theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/A754eoeyLT that are imported when you install a demo. But there are more elements that can not be added in a different way, only by installation process through the import feature.
Thanks
https://gamersarsenal.it/
I see in the animal demo tehre is a gap between the slider and the blocks.
One more question, how can i change the logo’s background color on header 10? i would like to have a full grey bar as header without showing my custom image.
Thank you for the help
Hello,
If you cannot install a demo with content as the guide suggests, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin so wer can login and investigate
Also please provide a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Hello,
I cannot see any categories from the demo on your end though. You must also clear cache after you change settings for them to be seen on the front-end though. Sometimes the host provides a hosting side cache as well.
Thank you!
Hi,
The blocks that are used when creating a page in Visual composer contain different modules. Here you can see the thumbnail sizes for each of these modules – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also on the theme demo you can see all the blocks and Big grids available – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
These elements are specially designed and come predefined within the theme, it would not be easy to change their properties, and multiple factors have to be taken into account if you want to try and modify them.
Thanks
Hello,
I recently switched the Jarida theme (https://themes.tielabs.com/jarida/) to the Newspaper.
I detected that the Slider and the scrolling of the main page have a certain locking in the mobile version, not smooth scroll as it is presented in the Newspaper demo.
I deactivated all the plugins and activated one by one. I have detected that the Layered Popups plugin (https://codecanyon.net/item/layered-popups-for-wordpress/5978263) is generating this problem.
I come through this support asking to help me resolve this conflict. I have been using this plugin for over 3 years and can not stop using it.

Thank you.
Hi,
I am assuming you want to create something similar to the tab element in the Magazine demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_magazine/
That is simply a tabs element from Visual composer – https://www.screencast.com/t/Yntw6MqaHcKj containing a Big grid in every tab – https://www.screencast.com/t/Eg0owvfA0
Then a custom class is added to the tab element to further style it – https://www.screencast.com/t/zSi9GfUe7e
Each section of the tab can be customized like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/34Nlx91kq
Please correct me if I misunderstand or you need further help with this.
Thanks
Hi,
There seems to be an issue with the demo install process at the moment, and we are currently investigating this issue. If in the future you decide to uninstall a demo or use another one instead, all the dummy content will be removed, so it would be best that you do not edit this content, and use your own content. Periodical website backups are also helpful and should be made.
Basically what a demo does is to use a predefined layout and populate it with content, so you can get an idea about what can be achieved using the theme. All the demo content in located in the theme folder – https://www.screencast.com/t/wxthH5w0q2 and you could use elements from them (homepage, theme panel settings, stylesheet etc) to create your website without actually installing it, if that is what you want.
You could always create your own pages using elements from Visual composer and uniquely personalize them the way you want. Or use one of the available Visual composer page templates – https://www.screencast.com/t/WLELbX1q
The child theme version in the stylesheet does not affect it’s functionality.
Thank you for understanding!
I know you don’t pick, I want it all. Everything in the FEATURES drop down of your demo is not in your demo import.
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
The entire FEATURES menu and all the sub menus and all the pages those menus link to are not in your demo content. Those are all very helpful items to have and be able to examine. Sorry I am clearly not making sense.
Hi,
I installed a demo theme and deleted everything not relevant. How do I delete the “Watch now” section on the homepage?

Hi,
I installed a demo theme and deleted everything not relevant. I have updated the categories on my wordpress admin under posts -> categories, and its confirmed when I go to theme panel -> categories … but on my site the categories are still the categories of the demo .. how do I get this updated?
My site – esportsranks.com
BR
Hello,
Our demo content gets removed when a demo is uninstalled. The demo content is best removed before creating your content as the demo content will be removed even if you edit it and keep it as your own content.
Thank you!
