Thanks. I’d tried using the code in three different ways, finally even changed the style.css by ftp. And it still didn’t show any change on the page. ? I can live with how it is I guess.

A bigger issue is: I’d like the big grid 4 to somehow go the full width of the page, be able to add a third feature there, and have no space between each feature. ???

Hello again,

Please disregard #1, it was my mistake. Newspaper folder was wrongly
uploaded through FTP inside the existing Newspaper folder. Fixed it now and
it works flawlessly.

All plugins are updated – Link to website: http://www.lwstaff.com

Mobiles only show one burger menu – the main menu, not the top menu. Please
check http://www.lwstaff.com with a mobile.

As for the thumbnails, again please visit http://www.lwstaff.com and check “From
Steve’s Desk” and “Scheduled On Line Events” categories. It is obvious that
there is an imbalance regarding the thumbnails. Both categories are blog2
layout and autofeed. The “Scheduled On Line Events” posts are created
before the installation of Newspaper. Please check thumbnail creation
because the “Entraining Light” post has the same featured image dimensions
(1920×1080) as “5 Words in Time” yet the thumbnail appears smaller and
blurred. And this happened today when I removed the featured image and set
it up again after updating the post. To me this means that there is a
problem when generating thumbnails.

I have deactivated all plugins except TagDiv Composer but nothing changed.

So, main problems are:

1. Mobiles don’t show the top menu

2. Thumbnails in posts after Newspaper installation appear smaller and
blurred.

Looking forward for your reply.

Hello Sardegnareporter,

First of all, make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme, installed via FTP way, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/, check the permissions to your dedicated server and the GD library to be enabled.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

That seems to be server related issue, you could contact your hosting provider and mention this to them. Or you could try a different method of installing plugins
http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/step-by-step-guide-to-install-a-wordpress-plugin-for-beginners/
All the plugins are provided in the theme package, plugins folder
https://www.screencast.com/t/IFpiOwwR
So you could install the composer with WordPress or FTP.

Hello epic830,

Check your PHP memory to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Most likely, this parameter has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything.

Thanks for the message!

Hello augustoock,

This error should not be there if the theme has been correctly installed via FTP way, sorry! Try to make a new install to another sub-domain for testing, clear all the caches and check the results. I have made some tests on my side and this error does not appear.

Thanks for your understanding!

We will need admin login to access the website and try to identify the issue, since we cannot recreate it. If you cannot provide this information on our private email address, we cannot investigate further. This forum is public to all theme users, but the email is private.
We will only request admin login, FTP access or cPanel access by email. You can check here in the forum, this is common for investigating issues.

If you decide to provide the information required, also include a link to this topic in the email.

That solution worked for all users since it has been provided. Either make the modifications in the mentioned file or update the theme to 8.7.2. The latest theme version contains many improvements over the previous version including a fix or the issue. Check the theme changelog
https://www.screencast.com/t/zDOGYd8Obrq
If you have made the modification in the file, clear all caching installed and CDN if used.
In case there is still an issue, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information and FTP access.

Hello rontsh,

Please update the theme to the latest version of it which is v.8.7.2 via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page.

First please make sure you have the latest version of the theme (8.7.2) and theme plugins, especially the composer plugin. The tagDiv composer is now version 2.1.

In some cases the solution form this topic worked for blank pages
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
You could give that a try.

If there is still a problem, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, FTP and cPanel access. We will take a look. Make a backup of the website before.

Thank you for the reply Catalin.
I installed the theme via wordpress. Is it necessary to install via FTP way ?
As far as untested plugins are concerned I removed them before I installed newspaper.

Hi,

1. That is not possible, only the latest version of the theme is always available for download. Currently the theme is version 8.7.2
https://www.screencast.com/t/vZxmaVDCzi
The tagDiv composer is now version 2.1 and the multi-purpose plugin us version 2.0
https://www.screencast.com/t/ZTOZhw6Io
Please download the latest theme package and install it, the most recommended method to update themes is by FTP
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

2. Update all the theme plugins after updating the theme. Let us know if there still is a problem and what exactly the error is.

3. Provide a link to your website and we will inspect this issue. I have tested simple drop-down menus, there are no issues with them. Check the live theme demo Homepages menu (latest theme version is installed in demo)
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
That could be caused by a third party plugin, you could try as a quick test to deactivate them all and check the results.

4. We will inspect this if you could provide a link to your website. It could be a combination of colors in the theme panel, so the icon is not visible
https://www.screencast.com/t/QzU7fftvU
Or it could be some other issue.

5. There were no changes in the theme regarding the thumbnail creation. These are created the same as before. If the images you use are of quality, the thumbnails will be as well. Unless you have a form of image compression/optimization or quality filter added by you or provided by the server.

Thank you!

Hello mjehangir,

Check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation. Check the theme to be the latest version of it installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Until now, we do not have any bad reports in this case and notice that the TD Composer should works as expected, without any problems.
A 500 error can have a bunch of causes but in usual debugging you would use such a guide: https://www.lifewire.com/500-internal-server-error-explained-2622938
Please access your files via FTP and try to rename the plugins folder and test again.

Thanks.

next question.
Does color replacement using style.css will works (then I will upload it using FTP) without having to change it again using theme panel?
Thanks.

Hello,

This error is caused by the memory allocation in most cases. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the issue is still there, please try without any plugins.
As an alternative you can install the theme via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Thank you!

Hi,

Maybe the page content is not saved in the first place when you click on the save button
https://www.screencast.com/t/E3q3LdY7N
It should display a success message.
Check the theme system status parameters
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources if needed. Make sure the plugin is active in the plugins section, and the button will appear on pages (not posts). Deactivate all plugins as a quick test, leave only theme plugins active. Create a new page with the tagDiv composer and save it, then re-open it.

If there still is a problem, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, as well as FTP and cPanel access if possible. We will take a look.

Thank you!

Hello shinobu,

Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme, installed via FTP way, clear all the caches, remove all of the untested plugins if you are using something like this and check the results. Check the theme’s requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch to another sub-domain for testing.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

Indeed the old theme should be removed (or overwritten) when updating the theme by FTP. Don’t worry about the child theme version, it will work properly and there will be no problem.

Simion C.
tagDiv Staff

Hi,

Updating the theme means you have to remove the old one and install the new version, please see this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Do it through FTP as well, that is the most recommended method. The latest theme version available for download is 8.7.2. Remember to update the theme plugins as well.

Thanks
