Hello nano,

I have created a simple, smart list 2 on my side, with your images and some captions and everything seems to work as expected, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5V7Dm9qs7o Also, I have checked your console, and I saw that you have some js errors through it which can influence which can affect the proper functioning of the theme. Please try to revert the theme to the default state, remove all your additional customization if you have, clear all your caches and check the results. Please keep in mind that the smart list feature work as properly and the Caption is well aligned as you can see in the above example. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps!

Hello portuga,

I have checked on my side, and the Infinite load for Blocks seems to work as expected, without any problems. I have checked your console and I notice that you have some js errors which can come from your untested plugins. I checked your source page and I saw that you do not disable all of them. Please try to revert the theme to the default state, without any untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all your caches and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, please try to make a new fresh install via FTP way, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

It will not affect page speed load.

If you see CSS OR js minify error in Google Page Insight. Simply download minified files and upload them using FTP.

I keep getting this error when I try to install the plugin. I have unzipped it, and even deleted the whole theme and retried it. I saw on a couple forum pages where it said to do it through an FTP? I have no idea what that is, and I purchased this theme because it said one click install. I am new to all of this. Please help!!

The plugin does not have a valid header.

Downloading install package from http://www.thriftytravelbug.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip…

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

Destination folder already exists. /hermes/bosnaweb09a/b603/ipg.thriftytravelbugcom/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/

Plugin install failed.

You have to unzip the theme only folder on your local hard drive (open it up, make sure it’s the theme!), not the large zip file of everything.

Upload the properly unzipped newspaper theme folder, via FTP, to

/yoursite/wp-content/themes/

login to WordPress and the theme will be there.

If you don’t see the theme on the appearance > themes page then you have not uploaded it correctly.

Okay – I have removed WordPress from the site, reinstalled it and then uploaded the theme via FTP and it is still not there. I really need your help to fix this as I don’t want to be requesting a refund for this.

To date, I have removed all content, plugins and even WordPress from my site to install the theme and:

(a) if I upload via WordPress, I get the “please try again” error message
(b) if I upload via FTP, it appears in FTP but not in WordPress

This is a common wordpress issue. Please follow this guide to fix this error: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-are-you-sure-you-want-to-do-this-error-in-wordpress/
If all else fails, you can al;ways install the theme using FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hello,

Unfortunately this is a wordpress issue not a theme issue. This happens with all themes not just our own. Please make sure wordpress is functional before applying the theme. This is not a theme related issue.
Please try to install the theme using FTP if wordpress cannot install the theme automatically: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Thank you!

Hello amurtes,

Please keep in mind that all of these above issues/errors do not happen on a fresh install, sorry! Please try to make a new fresh install from scratch on a new sub-domain, clear all your cache and install only the plugins that come bundled wit the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Make a new install with FTP method and check the results. You can test our demo to see that these errors do not occur -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello LaurennePierrick,

I have noticed that you are using the Newspaper theme and it is not the latest version of it. Try to update it via FTP way, disable all untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and check the results. For more details about FTP method, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hello keypractices,

I have checked your website, and I saw that you are using some untested plugins like Jetpack-Photon which can interact with the theme packet and cause a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all of the untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to be active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, if the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and install only the required plugins and check the results. -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello Mahaona,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. The ajax filters are fully tested and work will all of our blocks of the theme and should work without any problems. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello super_nic0las,

You should re-install the latest version of the theme via FTP way, use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. I suggest you install the theme again via this way because this is the surest method in this regard. A bad theme installing can cause this type of issues and that’s why it is very important to make a new fresh install from scratch and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Best to update via FTP.

use Feedzilla, log into website; delete old plugin folder in /wp-content/plugins/

upload new unzipped VC folder.

Seriously — only way to avoid pain and suffering !

Hello,
actually using Newspaper theme v.7.6.1
Just after last update to current version, I’m trying to enter Ad in the header (style 3).

As I did before, without personalizations neither customizations, I loaded a jpeg image named rec728.jpg 728 x 90 px sized.

That worked.

Now no more.

What I’ve been able to understand is that now when uploading, the image is set in a folder different the one it was set in the previous theme version (/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/rec728.jpg)

At now I do not have access via FTP neither via website hosting provider CPanel.

Is there a way to solve the problem? Thanks a lot

Hi Catalin,

I have reinstalled 3.3.1 using FTP, and have deactivated all plug ins to see if there is any clash. I have also tried the tips suggested by Chris S above, in that I have cleared transients using WP Optimize and have re-saved the Home page.

This doesn’t seem to have helped; the Home Page is not visible and Visual Composer is not accessible. If you can provide some advice it would be much appreciated, as this is becoming quite urgent.

Thanks a lot,
Mark

Hi,

If you follow every step of the update process explained in this tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ everything should be fine. It explains each of the update procedures either it’s with wordpress or through ftp, as well as instructions about the backup process – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups Anyway, if you run into problems we are here to help you get through them.

Thanks

Hello slolink,

Normally the Envato policy allows using a theme only on one install. You can, however, use the theme on a sub-domain if you plan on creating a testing site, but if we are talking about totally different sites with different content, then only one theme per install is legally allowed: http://screencast.com/t/NqzloVgyUJB. Notice that the theme can be activated only one for a single domain. So, if you want to change the domain, you should simply delete the theme for this domain and install it to other. The theme installing have to be done via FTP way, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hello sajeev,

It seems to have an error which can be caused by your untested plugins used by you or because of improper installation. Please try to disable all of the untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to be active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP and check the results. I have tested on my side and everything seems to work as properly.

Thanks for your understanding!
