I’ve never seen ? added to a filename as that would not even work on a web server properly. That may be loaded as part of the URL to the image to indicate the size being loaded, but not part of file name.
Also good habit to start naming your images based on size … like
image1-600x450.jpg
image-about-puppies-640x480.jpg
090916-joe-announce-500x275.jpg
etc.
You might look at your actual files upload folder on your domain to see what the files are actually called, via FTP or your hosting account file manager.
I doubt ?=600 is being added to file names. Not happening on my sites running Newsmag.
If you are using some external plugin to auto-optimize images (photon, smush-it pro, etc) that would be an issue with that plugin and not the theme, btw.
(( I don’t work here … ))
Hi,
If you want to delete the theme simply access your files via ftp and delete the theme folder from wp-content/themes/
Thank you!
Hello grharis,
The latest version of the theme is Newspaper 7.3 and the latest version of the plugins are 4.1 for Social Counter and 4.12 for Visual Composer and not 4.6… please update your Visual Composer! Also, please notice that all of these updates should have to be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks.

I found something weird about it:
<!– copy and paste. Modify height and width if desired. –>
In “Themes”, there’re three Newspaper themes (as you see), i try to delete two 7.2 version (not use) > it tells “Theme doesn’t exist!) > i check in host ftp > there’s only one Newspaper in “Themes Folder”
For you knowing more clearly,
> when i update from 7.2 to 7.3,
>i deactive 7.2 theme
> active thirteen theme
> FTP to host
> Rename Newspaper folder to “Newspaper_”
> Copy via FTP 7.3 folder from my PC.
> WordPress admin > Active 7.3.
Weird thing begins
Please help me reset newspaper theme to get out this weird problem. I think there’s someway to work around with Database to remove or reset newspaper. Then i can active newspaper version 7.3. Hope everthing fine again.
Thank you support guys alot!
Hello,
Unfortunately from version 1.3 there is no way of updating and keeping any settings. Switching to newspaper 7 will be like switching to a totally different theme. You will have to add a bit of time and effort into re-creating your site elements with the new theme as compatibility between newspaper 7 and newspaper 1.3 is very limited.
Lots of things are different. I recommend deleting the old theme and installing the new one as a different theme. Automatic updates will not work with your version so you have to install the theme and delete your old one. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Sorry for the inconvenience but we only provide backwards compatibility until version 4 of the theme.
Thank you!
Hello kautsarjuhari,
Please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Do it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for the message!
Best bet is to learn to use FTP (e.g., Feedzilla, CuteFTP, etc.) … you can then login to your site, go to your plugins folder, or theme folder, and *see* what is actually there. Delete old folder, upload new folder, etc.
This is best way to ensure nothing is broken by your WP installer, etc.
Yes, I always forget that sometimes the child css doesn’t work (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t) and that I have to copy and paste the child css into the theme options.
As you know, not an easy thing to remember when usual FTP has worked for years…
Hello mayuxi,
First of all, please ensure that our new version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3) is fully tested and still brings the most results. So, please try to make a full backup being safe. Then, try to download the latest version of the theme from Envato Market, clear all your old version of the theme and install the new one using the FTP because this is the surest method in this case -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/. Also, please install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme (Visual Composer 4.12, Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches, purge CDN file if you are using the CDN system and check the results. If you are using the Child Theme, you will have to use the latest version of it and also, you can try to rule the theme only using the main theme, without child theme and see hoe it will work. You can make a new clean install from scratch and install the theme according to our documentation and you will see that the theme will work as properly.
Thanks for your understanding!
my blog looks good on a pc, the problem is when I try to open an article (post) I made with visual composer and the problem is just when you try to open in a mobile phone.
this is the error
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_remote_cache is not set.
/home/fanatico/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
/home/fanatico/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_autoload_classes.php
I repeat I am not a Professional, I don´t know how to do the ftp way
Hello jenrique87,
Please ensure that you have right installed the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. First of all, please remove the old version of the theme and then install it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ If you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Hi
Please make sure that you update the plugin according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ also during the update process deactivate all other plugins, just to make sure that there is no conflicts.
If the process fails again try to update the plugin via ftp. First you need to unzip js_composer.zip file on your computer: http://screencast.com/t/hjDVsWANdx After this process login on the server via ftp, navigate to https://xxxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins and delete js_composer folder if there is such a folder. Next step is to upload js_composer folder from your computer then go to your dashboard and activate the plugin.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!
Hello Mayapur Voice,
All of these steps must be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. First of all, before updating the theme, you will have to delete the old one and then, using the FTP method you must install the theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Please try again this process, more carefully and let us know how it goes! Also, if you cannot install it, please try to make a new clean install from scratch and try it there and see how it will go!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello saltoaldia,
First of all, please notice that the official language in this forum is English and in the future, I would kindly ask you to use this language for a better understanding.
So, regarding on your issue, please try to make a new fresh install from scratch with the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3). Also, please notice that your installation should have to be made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard and then, you will have to try to install one of our demo sites, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
Well, the only way you can ensure you actually deleted the old theme folder properly is either
a) check via FTP if directory is there; delete it!
or —
b) use the filemanager in your host panel to delete folder if still there
Once you have the old folder deleted and you can *see* it’s gone via FTP; then simply upload the new theme folder (uncompressed on your local HD), to your theme folder. Boom, now you know it’s actually there, complete, and not broken.
Only you can do this step. Theme dev isn’t responsible for you installing software on your website.
Good luck!

I have seriously screwed my site up before editting via ftp. Can I please have a Newsmag representative help me with this?
Delete old theme folder via ftp.
Upload new theme folder via ftp.
Best way to do it, especially since whatever you are doing does not work on your system.
Thanks for your support!
1.In site A, I disabled all plugins except Visual Composer =>Problem’s still on.
Turn on “Wp total Cache” > clear cache (i used wp total cache) => Problem’s still on.
2.I tried installing a totally new website > active Newspaper theme > install and active 4 plugins: Visual Composer, Tagdiv Mobile Theme, Tagdiv Social Counter and UpdraftPlus >
I create 12 dummy posts > create page with Big Grid Slide (autoplay) for testing => “Big Grid Slide” works perfectly!
UpdraftPlus > Restore Database (backup from site A)
=> Problem’s still on.
3.Site run perfectly on Firefox, buggy on Chrome.
I can give admin information if you need.
Please help me. Thank you!

Please view the short video I share with you and tell me please what I do wrong and the VIA text url address doesn’t appearing on the article post.

Note: ” Did I disabled anything at Newspaper theme panel and It’s not working? ”
Thanks again,

Hello UHR,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using an old version of the theme with some untested plugins. Please try to update the theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.3), update the Visual Composer to 4.12, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. If you want to bring high results with the theme, please notice that you should keep up with our updates. Also, please notice that the update of the theme will have to be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/ Also, before doing these steps, please make a full backup to your data according to the documentation here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hi,
If you follow this guide to update the theme(I recommend ftp method if you are aware) it should work fine – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You need to update also all the plugins that come with the theme(Visual Composer, Social Counter..) from the plugins folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
Here you can find an update guide for Visual Composer(the procedure is the same for all) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Also it is recommended to make a full backup so you can revert in case that something goes wrong – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
Unfortunately we don’t offer any custom or installation services and also they are beyond the support – https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy
But if you have some problems we will assist you and provide some recommendations/suggestions.
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hello ittiphol,
Yes, please notice that once you bought the theme you will have unlimited access to our updates. Also, please notice that our recommendation in this regard is that the update to be made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your message!

@Chris: How do I update the plugins?
The way I’ve been doing this is put the Newspaper folder (previously a zip file within the Newspaper-tf zip) into my WP-Content folder via FTP. Then go back into WP backend and ‘Activate’ it.
@Catalin: I had to restore a previous version of my site when the FTP upload failed to correctly install. I’m working on that first thing this morning and will post as soon as it succeeds/fails. 🙂
When I upload and activate the newest version of Newspaper, should the VC and Soc.Ctr. plugins also automatically update through this FTP process? Thanks!
