According to wordpress if we select both parent category and Child Category then only parent category should be displayed in URL of the article.
After activating Newspaper theme here is an issue with permalink. I can see same article with two different URL.

I have marked parent category as primary and as wordpress says I can see exactly same URL/Permalink in Edit mode i.e, permalink without subcategory.

Bigger Problem is I can see the old and that ugly URL with subcategory in Sitemap and in home page as well.
Since I can see URL with only parent category in Edit mode but with parent and subcategory in sitemap + homepage.

I tried to insert a slide on the homepage. I seem to be here but does not show the featured picture of the post. I tried with all other kind of element such as Big grids etc… and i works fine except for the slide. Can you help. Sorry if the question has already been answered somewhere.

I’m a new customer and bought 2 licenses of your superb theme, and am now installing the first one. I ran into a problem when configuring the ads. I replaced the adds that appeared by default in the theme with either the 728×90 or 300×250 code from Adsense. My own ads do now appear, BUT I don’t like the way they look in the homepage, because when I scroll down there are two 300×250 ads that appear in the middle of the page, leaving a huge blank gap between the site sections. I tried replacing all instances of 300×250 banner tags (except the sidebar tag) but I still get the 300×250 banners in the middle of the homepage.
How can I replace them by 728×90 banners?

1)Unfortunately, our theme has not been designed to use a dynamic width. We do not recommend to increase or decrease the width of the theme’s width because the layout of the theme will be broken. Also, please notice that it is not a simple task and if you want to change the width you will have to adjust the all of other elements of the theme to works with the new width and this involve custom work. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to implement this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
2)Please notice that what you are asked involve more additional customizations and thus custom work. Please notice that we cannot do your website but only can guide you to the right direction. Below, I present you the steps which you should follow in order to achieve as you want.
First of all, please use the inspector (right click ->Inspect or CTRL+SHIFT+I) and then you will see all element from your homepage. Hi,
I changed my theme last month and my new posts are not showing up in search results. When searched for a particular keyword, the category page or homepage is shown for the post but not the post page. Additionally in search images only the thumbnail picture from the post is being indexed.
My older posts are not affected and only the new posts being published after the theme switch are facing the issue. Kindly help me out.
FIXED: I’ve cloned the homepage to see, surprise surprise, it works perfectly if its not set as homepage. Then I thought that it might be some sort of ad or something, so I paused adblocker and BOOM! there it was, on pc also.
Turns out that Google Adsense decided to place a “Blank Add” right in the middle of my freaking Block. That was the issue… Stupid Adsense.

I assume that you want to display on homepage an post entire post with post template 5 as a post template. This can be achieved only partial. You can display a post on homepage using page-builder+latest as a page template and module 15 like here: http://screencast.com/t/muDZhjvOq Following the screen you will be able to display a post on a page but the post template’s style won’t be kept. The post template style applies only on posts not on pages.

just finished my website set-up using newspaper’s sport demo , it looks great, thank you!
But still one problem to solve.
In the main menu bar, there is a gap between the menu and the bar bottom, as you can see in the homepage. The main menu seems to no be centered in the menu bar.
Could you help me to solve please?
Plus how can I activate mega-menu in the sub-menu?

I’ve just bought the theme and I’m trying to understand how things work.
My previous theme was using wider featured images (795×250). But now they are all scaled on the homepage. However, when I checked the documentation it says “the images will be cropped from up and center of the image”. But it does not.
I have tried uploading smaller or bigger (1350×700) images too, they have also scaled down. Not cropped.
I’ve used regen. all thumbnails plugin and also used “Force Regen.”. I think I must have been doing something wrong.
PS: No cache or any other plugin is used. Only Newsmag plugins.

1. I’ve checked your homepage and noticed that all posts displayed in module 15 have the Continur button added. Are you trying to add this button also for posts displayed in sidebar?
If this is what you want to achieve then you can add in sidebar a block which have Read More button included. For example you can use block 12 in sidebar do achieve a layout similar with this one: http://screencast.com/t/FS2qz7uclX0
If this is not what you mean please provide more details about what you’re trying to do.

Hi, id need to exclude a custom taxonomy from showing up on homepage big grid and latest posts.
I saw the blocks have the option to filter by category IDs.
Since i don’t really use categories is it possible to modify this setting to it affect the custom taxonomy “genre”?
I think the file to modify is td_block.php

Today I created a new homepage & set it as a default. Accordingly I changed all the settings in wordpress>reading + disabled wp touch pro as it created some problem.

Hello Chris, thank you for sharing valuable information. Here is something that could help with page speed:
I use a plugin called “Plugin Organizer” https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-organizer/ to enable and disable plugins per post/page. For instance I enable Visual Composer on homepage and on few other pages where it is needed and disable it on the rest of the website. Most plugins that I use work only on admin panel anyway so they can be safely disabled on posts and pages. This should help speeding up the website as well. I hope you will find this information useful.

I was able to create what I’d like my homepage to be through Visual Composer. How do I get that page (site.com/homepage) to show up as my regular homepage (site.com/) without having to create a messy redirect?

I’ve checked you’re site and noticed that you’re using homepage post block from Visual Composer, that’s why the featured image cover the the top part of the page.
Try to edit the page with Visual Composer and remove the homepage post block, clear all caches and test again.
