Thank you this one helps alot. One question after deactivate and delete this plugin can we reinstall through “Install premium plugins”
thanks
Because for one-click in WordPress to update the updates need to be either on WordPress.org servers like the plugins hosted there are; or need to be done from the main WP panel, or a custom panel.
This doesn’t always work due to the differences in server “permissions” where sometimes the uploads folder is “owned” by the FTP user, but the WP install is owned by Apache/server — then it breaks trying to update.
MOST commercial themes on ThemeForest must be updated manually in this way. It’s not unique to this theme.
So, if you want to run a WordPress site, good to learn FTP as it’s the *ONLY* safe way to update your site. Seriously.
(I’ve been running WordPress sites for 12+ years and really – FTP is worth learning!)
Catalin,
Why not have the updates right on wordpress?
To download it, then upload it to our servers over and over….where a CLICK from wordpress would make a it a LOT easier. Why haven’t they done that? Do they have plans to do that?
Installing it over and over again…seems to me to be a major draw back…especially when I read in this forum that after the updates people seem to find things broken
Hello,
I just tested this on my end. I downloaded a new image of 800×600 and checked the thumb sizes. There was not one that was bigger than the image itself: https://www.screencast.com/t/czCGsrBl
And this is a fresh install with no image optimization added at all. Maybe you have something that affects the images on your end that causes the issue. Please try to disable all plugins and optimization tools used, clear any custom code and clear cache and cdn (do a back-up beforehand though) then try to images again without any external influence.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
What slider are you referring to? Is it a revolution slider? For this you must update the mobile theme plugin by disabling and deleting the one you currently have installed and installing the new one found in the main theme package along with the theme.
Then you have to place the revolution slider shortcode in the mobile editor on pages: https://www.screencast.com/t/oiBUwwFO
Thank you!
Hi,
@adamatpaymentscm.com and @Stefan Please try to reinstall your theme using this method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and install only the plugins provided in the theme package. Also deactivate any child theme you are using, because some elements from the theme may have been subject to change and it could interfere with the functionality.
Thanks
Hello sakkiotto,
I have inspected your source page and I noticed that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicts. Try to do this and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Please make sure you are configuring the social counter properly like in this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial/ and enter only the required information – https://www.screencast.com/t/ufhq413618o Try to setup your social counter again, and clear any caching installed. Also make sure that you Facebook profile page is not private. It would be very helpful if you can provide a link to your website, so we can inspect the social counter. Please note that there could also be some delay between the data synchronization.
Thanks
Hi,
Disabling the plugins is very important in this case, because a plugin could be the cause of this, or a child theme, since the problem is not manifesting on our side. You could try to rename the plugins folder or just deactivate them one by one in the plugins section and checking to see if the problem is still there. If nothing works, please try to make a fresh install by FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and install only the plugins bundled with the theme. Also if the search issue is present after taking these steps, please contact us at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, and paste a link to this topic for identification purposes.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi,
There is an option to install the demo without the dummy content, but you will have to create your own pages. The predefined settings and classes will be loaded but until you create a page for example or recreate the one in the demo, in Visual composer, there will be no page structure. The demos are created as an example of what can be achieved using the theme. More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Please note that if you choose to edit the demo dummy content, when in the future you will uninstall or install a different demo, this will remove the dummy content and the modifications you made to this content. This will not remove your own created content.
Thanks
Dear support,
I have done everything as instructed above (All the size of icons has been inserted), but the picture icon does not show up on my mobile home screen. If it does not show up on my mobile home screen, how then can I click it to install?
May be something is wrong.
Please advice.
Thanks.
Hello amitsharma312,
I guess that you want to display the Rev Slider element at the top of your homepage, just below the header, right? So, if you want to do this, you should use the Visual Composer and place the code like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/s4Qbvpe9D2uD For more references about Rev Slider, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
I’ve just installed last night the latest version of the theme. The problem is still there. Only the search pagination is not working. Pagination for any other page is working great (authors, categories, tags, etc.).
Do you know an easy way to disable all my plugins and Newspaper theme without losing all their settings?
Would renaming their folders to something else and then renaming them back properly do the trick?
Thank you!
Hi,
I see that you have a demo installed. That particular demo has no meta for the modules by default. This can be seen in the demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_what/ What you can do in order for the date to display, is to use this code – https://www.screencast.com/t/s5D6ly7zk then the date will be displayed.
Here is the code used, please enter it in Theme panel->Custom Css
.td-what
.td_module_wrap
.td-post-date {
display: block;
}
Thank you for understanding!
Hello,
You can export your theme settings in order to keep them on a new install: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!
Hi,
I have tried to replicate your problem, but I have not been able to. The search function is working properly. You could try a fresh theme install, and use only the plugins bundled with the theme. Then check to see if this issue persists. Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Hi,
If you made all the necessary modifications to these parameters, and you still have this issue, try to deactivate and delete the Visual composer plugin, and install it again. Then try it again while also deactivating all your other plugins to rule out a plugin conflict. And clear your cache just to be sure. If your settings are still not saving please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information. Also paste a link to this topic for identification purposes.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi,
I just bought and installed Newspapper theme.
I add widgets to the side bar but from some reason they appear at the bottom below the content.
I choose side bar at the configuration so its should be at the right sidebar…. but it isnt 🙁
I am using the default news theme.
Thanks.
Simion,
Thanks for you response! I had previously verified that plugins were not the problem. A fresh and clean theme install solved the problem. Some code from my previous theme was still in functions.php. When removed, the mobile site started working.

Hello. I have newspaper theme and I’m using child theme too (apparently it helps preserve the settings?). Typically when I use child theme to update the main theme i have to switch to the main theme and then try to update, right? So I did all those things that are listed in tutorial for automatic updating (installed envato plugin, created API token…). After doinhg that it showed that the theme version was newest, but it did not install updated plugins. In tutorial it says that I can find them in some directory somewhere.. Where?
What is the best and easiest way to update this theme when using child theme? Do I need to switch from child to main for that? DO i need child theme at all?
Thank You.
This theme is not hosted on WordPress.org — like most themes on ThemeForest you need to install via FTP to have it done properly. Good to learn, as it allows you to make proper backups, make sure you install plugins properly, and KNOW it has been updated correctly.
See the theme docs on how to update the theme. 🙂
Make sure you update Visual Composer plugin when updating theme.
Note that things *do* change in new versions of Visual Composer, so always wise to check “changelogs” for ANYTHING you install to know how you might need to “adjust” content for those changes!
If I make a new clear install I will lose all my settings. Is there some way to keep my settings?
