Hi,

If you disabled the theme login, it will affect the mobile functionality as well. If it is disabled on desktop, it will be disabled on mobile as well. A solution would be to activate the mobile theme plugin, this has a different setting for the login

Hi!

I’m trying to modify the Desktop, Tablet and Mobile sizes for the images on the iOS slider.

I tried modifying the file Newspaper-child/includes/td_module_slide.php Line 35

From
$buffy .= $this->get_image('td_1068x580);
To
$buffy .= $this->get_image('td_1250x580');

However it throws this error on the frontend:
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_1250x580 is not set.
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php

Tried to find the function to register it on td_api.php but could not find it.

Thanks!

Hello rapision,

Unfortunately, this is the default theme’s behavior for a mobile ad. The theme does not have any such an option to change that ad location but only if you will make some changes through the code and this task involves doing such custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

I have inspected the website, it seems the mobile theme plugin is installed. The live theme demo does not have the mobile theme plugin active. If you want the website to display the same, deactivate the mobile plugin.
This mobile theme plugin is not required, so you can simply deactivate it.

Thanks

Hi,

The Mobile Theme plugin comes with predefined homepage: the Grid which displays 3 featured posts – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ and latest articles section.
If you want to display the same content like you have on desktop, you can deactivate Mobile theme and use the default responsiveness as the theme has already a mobile version.
If you want to use Mobile Theme and you want to change the Grid configuration, you will need to modify the code – https://www.screencast.com/t/gHCyVAPiNKTl

Thanks!

I bought and installed your theme http://www.ctjournal.kr/won/
It looks good to me on PC monitor.
But When I see the site on a Mobile phone,
top ad banner comes at the very top of the site.
but I would like to put the top ad banner just below the logo & menu bar when I see on a mobile phone.
Can We swap these panels’s location?

Hi,

The theme responsiveness is implemented in the theme, there is no need to make any modifications or activate anything. By default the theme will adapt the website for all devices. This can be seen on the live demo, as you mention.
There is also an optional mobile theme plugin provided. More information about it here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
If there is a problem with the way your website displays on mobile, please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it.

Thanks

I just recently upgraded from a shared to vps hosting on Justhost. When I did, for brief periods everything was working beautifully. But then I experienced periods of trouble:
*site wouldn’t render on mobile
*site wouldn’t render on desktop (but not at the same time as above – this problem was more common than mobile)
*site would crash and lose connection when I was publishing.
*site would often load data, but not format it (pictures and text, but no formatting)

Justhost says that the problem is with the theme.

Can you advise?

Hi,

Infinite loading pagination is available for category pages on mobile, if you do not use the mobile theme plugin. The mobile theme plugin is optional, you can choose not to activate it. Then the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile devices
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The plugin is optimized for performance on mobile, it does not feature advanced options like on desktop devices.

Thanks

Hi,

You could improve the leverage browser caching, the first recommendation in the test you provided. More about it in the same guide, and also here
https://gtmetrix.com/leverage-browser-caching.html
That will improve the page speed further, the website is pretty fast already. Also there seems to be a 404 on an image used on the website
https://www.screencast.com/t/rKvitr5vv
That could impact performance as well. It seems to originate from the mobile menu/search background
https://www.screencast.com/t/aAK5EJLz1
Take a look there and set a different image in those locations.
There are many page speed optimization guides and discussion here on the forum that you can read for more information in this matter. Some of them

Hi, I have a problem with the mobile theme on my tablet. The 3 top pictures don’t show right, the ratio is all wrong and doesn’t change to accommodate the different ratio of a 7 inch tablet as opposed to a mobile phone. It’s all good on my mobile, but on the tablet you can only see the top of the picture with just enough room for the title and that’s it. It’s strange and very ugly.

I don’t want to deactivate the mobile theme, because without it you get the sidebar underneath the latest news articles and I don’t want that.

Hello,

I hope you are having a nice day.

I’m a huge fan of the Newspaper theme (currently running V8.1) but one thing I can’t figure out is how to enable infinite loading for the mobile theme. Is there some custom code I can implement into my site? I currently have the pagination style for category pages set as “infinite loading + load more” and I would like to also enable this option for the mobile theme.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Madison

Hello cecil_l,

I’m sorry but please notice that our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change the Mobile Theme and also, only the General Responsive Mobile mode, sorry! As you can probably know, our theme has two way for displaying the website in mobile mode. The first one is General Responsive Mobile mode which displays the exact theme’s layout which is displayed on desktop but optimized for mobile to be responsive and the second way is through Mobile Theme which is a special plugin for mobile and which has a default layout according to the following useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Could be a conflict between the mobile theme plugin and one of your other plugins. I though you are not using the mobile theme plugin, and saw there is no problem with the default responsive version functionality.
The mobile plugin is optional, you can simply leave it deactivated. There will be no problem.

Thanks

Hi,

The mobile theme homepage has a predefined structure, this cannot be changed as there is no option for that. The mobile front page will display a top grid containing three of your featured posts
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
After the top grid there will be a section containing your latest articles. More information about the mobile theme here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
You can also select a different menu on mobile, or use the same one
https://www.screencast.com/t/Qy1mki7r
The menu on mobile is limited to drop-down style and will be displayed by clicking on the menu icon, like it is currently on your website
https://www.screencast.com/t/AsLHnHICQri
Please note that the mobile theme plugin is optional. The main theme is fully responsive and will adapt the website for all devices.

Thanks

Hello 🙂
I want to customize mobile theme freely.
(e.g. customizing through TD composer or Visual Composer)
Default theme is also fast and great but my client requests more beautiful and detailed main page..
In this case, should I delete TD mobile theme plugin and build new mobile page through some useful plugins?
Could you give me any information please?

Hi Simon. Thanks for exploring the issue. It still remains unresolved. Became so frustrated that I deactivated tagDiv Mobile Theme. That fixed the problem. Why?

Hi

I have a question. I just want to add block – OUR LATEST POST (from 404.php) at the bottom of the single post. How to add or modify this code and paste to single.php?

<h4 class="block-title"><span><?php echo __td('OUR LATEST POSTS', TD_THEME_NAME) ?></span></h4>

                <?php

                $args = array(
                    'post_type'=> 'post',
                    'showposts' => 6
                );
                query_posts($args);

                $td_loop_block_module = td_util::get_option('tds_404_page_layout');
                //$td_loop_block_module

                locate_template('loop.php', true);
                //get_template_part('category', 'slider');
                wp_reset_query();

                ?>

of course after content and before widget (mobile)

Hello, I think I might be missing something but I can’t find the page template “mobile theme”, it doesn’t appear in my pages list. I have a static page selected as said in the mobile theme tutorial.
In addition, how can I get the categories to show in the menu of the mobile theme ? all I have is the logo.

Hi,

A cache can cause a delay before the changes on the website are displayed. Most caching plugins have configurations and settings in order to avoid this for known users for example. Also some caching plugins can interfere with the mobile theme plugin functionality.
The recommended caching plugin would be the WP Super Cache
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Thanks

Hi,

If you are using the mobile theme, this has predefined templates for the homepage, post page, category page, etc. The homepage will always display a top grid containing posts you enter in the Featured category
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
In the bottom of the page, there will be a Latest articles section containing your latest posts. Content for mobile pages has to be entered through the Mobile editor, located in the page edit screen at the bottom.
More about the mobile theme plugin here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Please note that the mobile theme plugin is an optional plugin, not required. If it is not active, the same content from desktop will be displayed. The main theme has a fully responsive design and will adapt the website for mobile devices.

Thanks
