Hi,
Please note that the mobile theme is optional, you can choose not to use it and the website will be displayed properly on every device. The theme is fully responsive and will adapt to every screen size. Maybe there is a plugin that could be causing this issues, but at this time I do not see it manifesting and your website is working properly.
Thanks
Hi there,
Love the theme and your work. But, I think all users would love to have a Social Sharing bar, available at the bottom in Mobile Phone view.
This feature is small but, can increase the social share count by a huge margin. I’m afraid of using third-party solution for it, as it’s not a big feature to ask for.
Hi,
You can change the color for the menu, as well as for the footer in Theme panel->Mobile theme section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/hQaJVZB6VUC
Content for the pages when using the mobile theme must be entered through the mobile editor
– https://www.screencast.com/t/MHHBfeJtMya
More information about the mobile theme here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
The mobile theme is meant to be as light as possible for the best performance on mobile devices. The css file can be found here – https://www.screencast.com/t/GBH5AeUfso if you would like to modify this file directly. Please note that you could use the custom code section available for the mobile theme if you want

Thanks
Hello,
Unfortunately none of the visual composer shortcodes will work on the mobile theme as the mobile theme plugin will not use visual composer at all. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
I know. But when the post has a SMART LIST it doesn’t show the content-top (mobile), and content-bottom (mobile) and content-inline (mobile) advertisements. Test it out yourself, open a post with the mobile theme activated and check a post with a smart list, ads are not showing up.
What files to edit?
Thanks for your reply
Hi,
Maybe you can configure the plugin it from the settings rearding positioning, to stop causing this issue. At the moment it seems to work properly on desktop and mobile
– https://www.screencast.com/t/k7JPBMf5
I could not give you a code that will stop this from happening on all levels, and also keep the theme and plugin functionality unaffected.
You could search for another plugins that have these capabilities and try them, maybe other plugins will work properly and not interfere with the website and cause problems.
Thanks
Hello mrsky28,
If you want to add some ads only for mobile theme mode, notice that you can do this from Theme panel, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
You can not set a video playlist as a widget in the sidebar. You could add it as a normal element in a split row sidebar however – https://www.screencast.com/t/hEc2NxtaA – https://www.screencast.com/t/bP2CKQDj
If you would like to have a bigger logo, please note that Header style 9,10 and 11 do not have a limit for the image used in the logo – https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/ and you can set as logo a full image for example.
The ad code for the header must be entered in the Header section in Theme panel->Ads
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ads-adsense/
The social sharing top and bottom in the post page can be disabled like this
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/sharing/
The ad can be removed in Theme panel->Ads in the respective section. If that is the article bottom ad you have to remove it here – https://www.screencast.com/t/W3UpvEmE7
More about using article ads here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/article-ads/
The Latest articles section is always displayed on the bottom of the page, after the page content. More about page templates here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
If the images are not appearing, make sure you have set a featured image for the posts
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
And you have enabled the thumbs required for the modules, in theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
If you are using the optional mobile theme plugin, you must use the mobile editor to ad content for your pages
– https://www.screencast.com/t/82poCQT5Bp
More information about the mobile theme here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
If you do not use the mobile theme plugin, the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile devices. The theme is fully responsive, and will adapt to every screen size.
Thanks
Hi Bogdan. Thanks for the reply and I apologize if my question was not clear. Here is a link to my site:
https://starnewsgroup.com/obituaries
and also a screen shot that shows my concern:
http://media.altimac.com.s3.amazonaws.com/images/obits-mobile.png
The narrow images in the mobile theme work very well for the main page and for most of the categories but for our obituaries it causes only the tops of their heads to be shown. What I am trying to do is either a) hide the images on the category page for Obituaries, or b) have the images appear in a standard 4:3 aspect so the deceased’ faces can be seen. Please let me know if you require any further explanation. Again I am not asking that you perform these mods for me, but only to point me to where in the mobile theme pages the adjustment needs to be made. Thanks!
Hi there. Thats the other issue – the theme keeps switching to desktop view. mobile theme is on, im using WP super cache with recommended settings… I clear cache, after some time it shows desktop again… I cleared it again.
Hello techdigg,
Try to refresh your page and check the results. Clear all your caches after this. Also, try to remove all the server caches and if you do not have any access to do this, you should consult the hosting provider and request this task.
Please notice that the mobile theme makes some troubles due to WP Super Cache plugin. Also, the WP Super Cache plugin is compatible with the mobile devices, but if you are using the Mobile Theme, please notice that you should make some changes for a better working. This could be a problem from wp super cache and not the browser. If you use the plugin, please use this method to fix the issue:
Use this link and add the customization as marked here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/pull/185/files
Edit wp-cache-phase1.php and add the green code from the right column as it shows there.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
Sorry but we have no reports of this so I cannot provide solution in this regard. You will have to test a few possible solutions starting with plugins, or the cache plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also the plugin needs a bit of adjustment as described here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/help-cache-plugin/
Another thing to try is to disable or enable the mobile theme plugin and see if it responds in different ways.
You can also test on a wp default theme as well to see if the issue is theme related at all. It could be a wordpress problem.
I hope this helps.
Thanks
Hello,
The mobile theme plugin was changed fin order to fix the implementation problems it had in the new theme versions. No new feature were added to the plugin. It was a necessary update for the proper functionality of the plugin.
Thank you!
Hi,
The mega-menu feature is only available for desktop. On mobile the menu is limited to having a sub-menu. If you are using the mobile theme you can create a menu and use it only for mobile devices. Please correct me if I misunderstand.
Thanks
Hi,
You can try this code to hide the menu on mobile – https://www.screencast.com/t/bvyBdzLL5JnC
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom Css
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap-full {
display: none;
}}
Please provide more details about what other changes you would like to make to this menu, so I may give you a a more accurate answer. Right now I see that you are using Header style 8, and a stretch property on the header menu.
Thanks
If you are using mobile plugin you cant set top menu because top menu usually is for pages and pages dont work on newspaper mobile theme 🙂
Hi,
In visual composer I added an ad box within a a custom add box.
On desktop, the advertisement is shown correctly, but on mobile I only see the code:
[td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_5" tdc_css=""]
I’m using the mobile theme. How come it’s showing the visual composer code?
Hi
I want to change some styles in mobile theme, like menu drop-down background and footer color, but also I need to show tags widget below. Where can I configurate this? and where can I find .css files?
Thanks!
Hello,
What file to edit if I want to show ads on the mobile theme with a smart list? It’s not showing currently.
Hi, related whit this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/hide-authors-box-of-a-certain-author/
¿How can I hide the same author’s box in mobile? I’m using mobile theme.
Hello
I want to create an entry where I can show access to the subcategories of a category, that is, can show the titles and a image of subcategories.
The way Visual Composer have to work on blocks is to call the categories for to download all their posts, but not show an access to that category.
I have, for example, the top category “Areas” and several subcategories among which are “Astronomy”, “Biology”, Social Sciences “, etc.
When I click on” Areas” I want to go to a page where I can access to “Astronomy”,”Biology”,”Social Sciences”, etc., and NOT to all post of “Astronomy”, “Biology”, “Social Sciences”, etc.
I could do a independent access trough image (I think) but the behavior in mobil is not good.
This is because in my main menu I have two drop-down items, and one of them shows subcategories, but these are not visible in the mobil.
I have activated “Mobile theme” and I do not see the possibility of accessing to these subcategories from the cell phone.
I think creating a post with access to the subcategories would be solved.
Hi,
How can i show top menu and my main menu on my mobile theme please? there is no option on mobile settings only for main menu and i use my top menu as a shop/cart menu….
Thanks
Hello,
We are having issues with our mobile theme.
On a mobile device, sometimes the mobile theme works sometimes its the normal theme sometimes its the mobile plugin theme.
Is there a way to force the mobile theme on a mobile device?
In China, blog readers are getting the mobile Newspaper theme on their desktop. I attach a screenshot. If they go to VPN (tunnel outside the Chinese firewall) all is OK. I understand that my Twitter feed and social icons may be blocked, but is there some header code that can force the use of the desktop site?
Hi, love this theme and apologies if this has already been answered but I can’t seem to find it after a pretty exhaustive search of the forums. Using the mobile theme which works great, just one small issue for us in that on the category pages, particularly our obituaries, the narrow slice image style is basically showing only the tops of the deceaseds’ heads,which some of our readers have found upsetting 😉 Is there a way to either a) hide the images only for a certain category but not all categories, since overall we like to have them, or b) change the aspect of those images to be more of a standard 4:3. I understand this may require changes to the core mobile theme files and I am not asking you to make the changes, just to point me to which file(s) in /mobile need to be altered. I have tried this CSS
@media(max-width:767px){
.td-post-category{
display:none!important;
}
}
but that hides them on ALL category pages. Appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks!
